SOLD: Fender Player Precision Buttercream
Eldon Tyrell replied to danweb22's topic in Basses For Sale
This looks great. I think the black pickguard looks so much better than the white one. I recently bought a bass from Dan and the whole process was fab. I was especially impressed by the super packaging. Two boxes (!?!) and tons of bubble wrap. That's how retailers should ship their gear. Very impressive. So, buy with confidence, you are in safe hands π GLWTS π -
I like these new ray projects. Here is the fitting soundtrack:

Easy to answer: 1. More basses 2. Less money π

Fender Boxer Range re-released 2021 - The Jazz Bass Special !
Eldon Tyrell replied to Dood's topic in Bass Guitars
I can confirm that the MIJ Fender Boxer is a fantastic bass. Great quality, great looks and great sounds. I only sold mine as I am not a Jazz neck guy. I always think I will eventually get used to it but that somehow never seems to happen :-( -
Songs that are bangers... that aren't sung in English

Posted this before somewhere else, still one of my favs π -
Man, I was thinking of getting a custom SB-1 too. I have been following this odyssey and I would be peed off big time by now. What the... Hope you will get your bass and love it or at least be told soon what has happened to it to have some closure. Thinking of it, maybe call my lawyer buddy Jim to see if he can help you!

The "game changer" is referring to something else, not the new technology π

I like the name, the look and the sounds. Not sure about the LED ring though. I mean, isn't the 3-way lever telling me if I am in clean, alpha or omega mode? There are just three modes, not too difficult to distinguish, right? Anyway, maybe I am wrong and the DarkRay and the LED lights will be a true game changer π

Nope. 2'' too short and one string too many for my taste π

Spector fans, what's happening? Just saw that Andertons has some great clearance prices for Spector basses. For example, the limited edition Euro LT with the Fishman Fluence preamp and pickups is now Β£1,999 for both the 4 and 5 string (from Β£2,439 and Β£2,479). I used to own a 4 string. Great sounds and looks. Very light too. Only sold it due to the chunky neck shape (ordered it without trying it out first, due to lockdown. Well, lesson learned here). Check it out! https://www.andertons.co.uk/bass-dept/bass-guitars?#facet:1209510511083116111991075840123493242125324941,30744573456166766758311210199116111114&productBeginIndex:0&facetLimit:&orderBy:&pageView:grid&minPrice:&maxPrice:&pageSize:&

This sounds like a good deal. A new Fender American Original 60s P bass for Β£1,549.00. Only problem is that it does not say when it will become available and with the current supply issues that could be a while: Fender American Original 60s P-Bass Surf Green RW (guitarguitar.co.uk)

Yes, as far as I know they were made in the same factory in San Luis Obispo, CA. I am still looking for a 2 band EQ Stingray but in natural, otherwise I would have already clicked the "add to cart" button π -
Wow. Wow. Wow π€© I saw this on BD's website and fortunately (for my bank account) it was not there long enough for me to do something silly π Killer looking bass. Enjoy π

This looks killer. I love red basses. This has 80s written all over it. How is the neck? Same as a normal Euro or slimmer and more like a 77 or Ian Hill? I hope for the latter!

BD has a USA Sub for Β£650 (BTW, this is not my bass and I don't know the original owner either). These were the no-frills US made Stingrays, which should not to be confused with the Sterling by MM Sub basses made in Indonesia and China. The US Sub had 2 band EQ, painted necks, limited choice of colours and no body contouring (i.e., slab body). Check it out: Music Man SUB 4 Satin Black Second Hand, used Bass Guitar Stock Maple neck, active eq :: For sale, UK:: Bass Direct, Warwick, London, Manchester Birmingham, USA -
Hi there. If you looking for a classic P, then maybe check out the Modern Vintage MV-P 62. BD has them in stock: Modern Vintage MVP-62 3 Tone Sunburst Precision bases , UK Basses specialist Warwick, Bass Direct, Birmingham, London, Manchester, UK, USA The name "Modern Vintage" obviously does not sound as good as Fender but I have done some digging and these basses are modelled on vintage Fender basses owned by John Files. John has quite an impressive background and he used to run a shop in Austin called the Bass Emporium (About Us β Sonata Marketing). He is now a distributor, including Rob Elrick's basses. He asked Rob to get an undisclosed factory in S Korea to replicate the specifications of his fav vintage Fender basses (P and J) and to include some more modern-ish elements (e.g. the roasted necks, better truss rod access etc.). Hence the name "Modern Vintage". The basses aren't cheap but I have only heard good things about them and will try them out myself next time I am heading to Leamington. Here is a review with some good soundclips:

Spector fans! Here is a cool video for you to watch. Ish guitar's Jesse Wilson visited the new Spector custom shop facilities. Very interesting. Check it out!

Welcome back to the Spector family! As you know, you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave π

They used to say "never meet your heroes". I guess we can now add "never see your heroes" as well.

Agree, all cool dudes. However, looks like I have to be the guy who introduces you to the coolest dude of all them all π

I guess it depends on what you are selling/buying. For example, a Yamaha Peter Hook Signature Bass that cost around Β£1k new just sold on ebay for more than double. BTW, it is a "standard" one, i.e. not one of the hand signed ones that PMT sold.
