  1. Cool stuff. Found it on youtube! Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, to the radio.... Well, it made my wife dance in the living room πŸ˜‰ I found the bass quite shiny, almost like a mirror. Well, my wife saw it and loved it. Got now permission to get one. So, all good and thank you, 2elliot 😎
  2. There was a thread on Bacchus basses earlier this month. They look pretty tempting. Must resist 😎
  3. Good point. That's what I did. Got a Euro LE Mike Starr with solid maple wings (white gloss finish. I think most solid colour (white and black) Euro's have, or at least, had solid maple wings. The other LXs have a slice of walnut in the middle. Same is true for the LTs - Maple/Walnut/Alder) and had a Haz 9V installed. I don't have a NS 2 to compare it to, but I am confident it will be close. Killer tone and a true keeper. I am now trying to "replicate" it somehow for the NS4: Ordered a Forte 4 (with EMG DCX pickups and the Haz 18V. It will have a black stain matte finish and no crown inlays (so, kind of a "no frills" US Spector). Let's see how that will work out (again, I won't have a NS4 to compare it to though)
  4. Uhhh, good I did not see those before buying my first Spector, which, ironically, was a white Euro LE 😎
  5. Hmm, never really connected Spector with hair metal. For me it is the sound of Alice in Chains - Mike Starr and Mike Inez, the latter has both a Warwick Streamer I (moon burst finish, now "replicated" in his Fishman Fluence Legacy pickup) as well as a red Spector NS-2 (drop D tuning). Interestingly, he wears the same shirt as Rex Brown πŸ™‚
  6. Rex Brown - Legend! Now with Warwick though
  7. Sailing down, down the Styx again, Without you my love, I want to return but then, I see all my friends, they want me to join but then, They all melt away, without you alone.
  8. Cool stuff. Golden bridge. Nice combination of gold/red/black. It lacks a knob (in comparison to the other photos). Does it have a stacked volume/tone pot?
  9. Oh dear. Sorry to hear that. I would send it back.
  10. Great news. I hope it will look like the one in the photo I posted. I am already saving money 😎
  11. Hello Yamaha BB fans, Just a quick question: Does anyone have any insight info on the possible Peter Hook Yamaha signature bass (maybe a remake of the BB 1200S)? Just came to my mind after watching him DJing at the Hacienda House Party (Livestream) two days ago. Cheers!
  12. Finally, my 1977 LE. I hope to replace the chrome tuners and bridge soon. I already have the golden tuners and I am waiting for the golden bridge to arrive soon too.
  13. Next comes my Forte 4 in vintage tint ash. According to PJ Rubal, one two were made in this finish. He has one (#169), I have the other (#168): http://vintagespector.com/woodstock.html
  14. Ok, just discovered this thread. Great opportunity to showcase my Spector basses again 😎 First up is my beloved Euro Mike Starr LE with Haz 9V. This bass has some serious oomph. Not sure my neighbours appreciate it though πŸ˜€
  15. Yes, Bernard Edwards was amazing. I even got a MM Stingray because of him (and Louis Johnson and Tim Commerford). Unfortunately, the Stingray was not for me, so I let it go. However, Bernard also played a Spector in the mid 80s, so my Euro 77 is now my funk and disco bass. It also has the right colour for the 70s - baby poop brown πŸ˜‰
  16. Hello everyone, Hope you are all fine. I recently joined Basschat. The eternal lockdown gives me some more time to play bass and check Basschat. I started playing bass back in 2007. My first bass was a Warwick Corvette Standard, which I bought from Sound Control in Salford. I still have the bass but it has a twisted neck and a faulty truss rod, so I am not using it. I did not have much time back then and gave up playing quite quickly. I took up playing bass again in late 2014 when I had a round birthday and my wife surprised me with a voucher for bass tuition. I learned a lot and have been playing since then. Due to my job, I still don't have much time and I am a (living room) hobby bassist. Thanks to YouTube (shout-out to Coversolutions πŸ™‚ and several excellent books (shout-out to Stuart Clayton :-) I have learned a lot of good songs. I am currently learning Alice in Chains and Stone Temple Pilot songs. STP's Rob DeLeo has some great basslines (e.g. Plush). Bass influences: Bernard Edwards, Louis Johnson, Tim Commerford, Peter Hook (looking forward to his Yamaha signature bass) Equipment: Basses: Spector Euro LE 77, Spector Euro Mike Starr LE, Spector Forte 4, Warwick Corvette Standard Amp: GK MB 112-II Pedals: Darkglass Alpha Omega Ultra, T-Rex Bass Juice Looking forward to having a good time with you all! Stay safe and take care!
  17. Fellow Spector fans! Yesterday, there was an interesting Q&A with John Stippell, Spector's Global Brand Manager, on Instragram. You can find it here: https://www.instagram.com/stories/officialspector/?hl=en Two questions were about the new Spector LT Limited Edition with Fishman Fluence pickups. They plan to release them here in the UK in summer. The two finishes will be "Faded Black" and this one, played by Rudy Sarzo. Cool stuff. Very tempting.
  18. Maybe we should then order together and ask for a good discount πŸ˜‰ Changing the BT to the TP sounds like a good option. It's in my 77 and I like it a lot (the TP and the DiMarzio pickup turn the 77 into a P bass on steroids). I still have one lying around from when I had it replaced with the Haz in my Mike Starr.
  19. Wow, I like this one. Cool looking bass. I just reminds me of another bass I just posted about 😎 GLWTS πŸ‘
  20. Last summer, I briefly owned the new Euro 4 LT in Red Fade with the Bartolini/DG combo. I somehow never warmed to it and sold it. How do you like the BTS in your LX?
  21. Good to see that you rank the EMG BT ahead of the TP. I have never played a Spector with that preamp but I am very tempted by this beauty that comes with the BTS:
  22. Another vote for the G&L Tribute LB 100. I had the pleasure of playing one last week. I think they are amazing value for money. Very solid, a bit heavy, but great looks (I had the one in natural with a lovely wood grain) and sounds. Unfortunately, the tone pot got severely damaged in transit (the bass comes without a gig bag or hard case and was only bubble wrapped. Lesson learned here: always order one that comes with at least a gig bag, preferably a hard case, or buy one separately), so the bass went back the next day 😞
  23. Here is another black beauty. I know, I know, it is again a PJ but aren't PJs also P's? Kind of a P bass plus/extra/deluxe? They are definitely not Js. Although, Duff McKagan's signature bass is a PJ and it is called a Deluxe Jazz Bass Special (on the headstock) and a Deluxe Precision Bass on the Fender website. Hmm.
  24. Wow. Another beauty. I really should stop checking the BC Marketplace. Great price and perfect timing. Tomorrow is the 60th anniversary of Motown and this bass has James Jamerson written all over it. GLWTS πŸ‘
