  1. Wow, I like this one. Cool looking bass. I just reminds me of another bass I just posted about 😎 GLWTS πŸ‘
  2. Last summer, I briefly owned the new Euro 4 LT in Red Fade with the Bartolini/DG combo. I somehow never warmed to it and sold it. How do you like the BTS in your LX?
  3. Good to see that you rank the EMG BT ahead of the TP. I have never played a Spector with that preamp but I am very tempted by this beauty that comes with the BTS:
  4. Another vote for the G&L Tribute LB 100. I had the pleasure of playing one last week. I think they are amazing value for money. Very solid, a bit heavy, but great looks (I had the one in natural with a lovely wood grain) and sounds. Unfortunately, the tone pot got severely damaged in transit (the bass comes without a gig bag or hard case and was only bubble wrapped. Lesson learned here: always order one that comes with at least a gig bag, preferably a hard case, or buy one separately), so the bass went back the next day 😞
  5. Here is another black beauty. I know, I know, it is again a PJ but aren't PJs also P's? Kind of a P bass plus/extra/deluxe? They are definitely not Js. Although, Duff McKagan's signature bass is a PJ and it is called a Deluxe Jazz Bass Special (on the headstock) and a Deluxe Precision Bass on the Fender website. Hmm.
  6. Wow. Another beauty. I really should stop checking the BC Marketplace. Great price and perfect timing. Tomorrow is the 60th anniversary of Motown and this bass has James Jamerson written all over it. GLWTS πŸ‘
  7. C'mon guys, I cannot believe this beauty is still available. Can someone please buy it? Otherwise, I have to do it and then have to explain to my wife why I had to buy yet another bass even though I will never have a career in music? 😎
  8. Just saw someone over at TB mentioning that PJ has his website up showcasing his personal collection of Spector basses and memorabilia. It shows some amazing looking basses from all Spector eras - Brooklyn, Kramer, SSD and Woodstock. Please check it out here: http://vintagespector.com/index.html Really love his bass collection. I hope he will keep on uploading more beauties. Would also be great to see a coffee table book in the future like Geddy Lee's. I was also pleased to see his Forte #169, the sibling of my #168. http://vintagespector.com/woodstock-era-1997-2018.html
  9. I especially like this bass. A fitting name would be the "Smell the Glove" bass 😎
  10. I know you said "under" Β£350. However, if you add Β£49, you can currently get one of the G&L Tribute LB-100 basses (in sunburst, Olympic white or natural) and they offer great value for money (and they used to cost more than Β£500). There is also a thread here on BC:
  11. I used to have a Tribute L2K. Super solid bass. Great value for money and the set-up was good. I only sold it as the neck was a bit too wide for my taste. I think G&L basses, and especially the Tribute series, are a bit unsung heroes in the bass world. I can see that G&L is a bit more into marketing recently, they have changed their product portfolio and their basses are also more widely distributed here in the UK. Hope it will work for them.
  12. Stunning looking bass. Active/passive Stingray? Wow. Not seen that often. I like white and gold. Cool colour combination. I am glad I haven't Basschat earlier. Otherwise I would be broke by now πŸ˜‰ I cannot see this great bass to be on the market for long. GLWTS πŸ‘
  13. Wow. Now we are talking. Stunning looking bass for a great price. GLWTS πŸ‘
  14. Thank you, Al Krow! Much appreciated. Due to the lockdown I actually have a bit of time to post here. Sure, here they are. First up is my Forte 4 in Vintage Tint Ash. According to PJ, only four were ever made in that finish and only two of these in this slightly darker tone (PJ owns the other one). Next to that is my Mike Starr LE. The solid maple wings and the Haz 9V get it quite close to the Spector tone I always had in my head. I am looking forward to checking out the recently announced Spector Euro LT with Fishman Fluence pickups. Replacing the neck pick up with the Mike Inez Legacy Fishman pickup would turn this bass into another AIC bass. Next to that is my Euro 77. I like the 70s retro look (a homage to the NS-1) and use it for funk and disco songs. I am only a living room (well it is more a rehearsal room and gym now ;- ) player and play along to songs on youtube. I am currently playing a lot of AIC and STP (Rob DeLeo has some amazing basslines) songs. So, my "rig" is rather limited and only consists of my basses and a GK MB 112-II amp. -tab=comments#.url
  15. Sorry for being late to the party. I've just joined basschat. I am a huge Spector fan. I grew up in the 80s and always loved the sound of the bass in early AIC and Queensryche records. I have a Forte (in vintage tint ash, PJ config) and one on order (black stain, with DCX pickups). I also have two Euros (77 and Mike Starr with Haz 9V). The Mike Starr is my fav and the only bass that I don't think I will ever sell. The one I would love to have but cannot afford is the NS-2 with premium buckeye burl top and inferno red high gloss finish. This one looks absolute killer. All Spectors have great looks, great ergonomics and an amazing sound with lots of oomph. Not sure my neighbours like them so much though 😎
  16. Wow. I love this one. Huge fan of the Forte. I have one myself (and one on order). I think they are as close as you can get to a NS-2 (minus the bling πŸ˜‰ GLWTS πŸ‘
  17. Yes, I am also looking forward to seeing the new Euro LT's with the Fishman pickups. I watched a video on youtube and Spector's John Stippell mentioned that they would release several short runs in different colours this year. I am aware of the one in faded black and John was holding one in amber. I would replace the neck pick up with the new Mike Inez Legacy Fishman Fluence pickup and create the ultimate AIC bass 😎
  18. I love Spector basses. This one looks killer. Great price too. I am not in shorties, otherwise I would be all over this one 😎 GLWTS πŸ‘
  19. Amazing looking bass. Very attractive price too. Β£1500 in 2001 would be Β£2500 now (inflation adjusted). So, Β£1250 is a great bargain. Good that I already have several basses in natural finish, otherwise I would be very tempted. GLWTS πŸ‘
  20. Wow. What a great looking bass. 62 reissue in TSB. Hmm. That makes me immediately think of James Jamerson's "Funk Machine". Well, Motown's 60th anniversary is coming up on the 14th. What a perfect time to have this bass. Very tempted. I have to resist πŸ˜€ GLWTS πŸ‘
  21. This bass is really beautiful. GLWTS πŸ‘
