1. I think it can be done. PM phatmonkey. he will sort you out. G
2. Welcome back mate G
3. I really like C1000's as over heads. They, to my ears, sound alot mroe direct. 414's are still the daddies though.... Alas, what i wouldnt give for a tonne of cash... G
4. Cool, Cheers everyone. Its between the MXL 604's, SE 2a's or Rode NT5's. Wicked. G
5. kiwi posted a heads up about a new one a while back. It is in this forum, maybe ont he second of third page G
6. The Nt4 is not what i am after. Although i am after a pair i may from time to time wanna use them seperatly. Ill look closer into the c02. I have never really used the samson mics but there is something about them that seems a little cheap. edit: £64 quid a pair?! No, i don't think these are gonna sound that great or last....
7. steve lawson at the edinburgh festival is always a winner
8. the c02 isn't what i am after... the great thing about the MXL's is that, with 604, you get a second diaphragm which is omni pattern. And it has the -10db roll off. I will look further into the SE though.... G
9. Nothing specific. Just a small x/y pair really. The first application will be a clarsach (scottish harp) but in future will be used for room mics, acoustic guitars, percussion etc etc.... Just want something small, cheap (ish) and reliable that sounds good. G
10. Anyone? Anyone recomend anything similar?
11. Hey Gringo! Check this book out, i have it and use it and its brilliant: http://www.amazon.ca/Funkifying-Clave-Afro...s/dp/0769220207 Literally the best bass book i own. The tracks in it are tough but very very rewarding and musical. G ps - last month BGM had some cool advice from Dave Marks in it too. pps - the cab is awesome
12. Check out some jamiroquai dude Nice cool grooves and some tasteful slap
13. wow! that looks totally stunning! G
14. Interesting how do you find that comp. I have been impressed with drawmer gear. G
15. Anyone? This is a great processort for bass. Everything in one box. G
16. Asking whats better: PC v Mac Pro Tools v Logic v Cubase v Nuendo v Everything else Reason v Kontact v Everything else is much the same as saying on this forum, whats better: P Bass v Jazz Bass v Stingray Trace v Ampeg v Ashdown Boss v Aphex v Line 6.... But people do get wound up about it. G ps - pro tools and mac all the way
17. hmmmm cheers for that So, they sound crap and thats why they are ace . Cool. G
18. Those studio spares NS10 clones look cool. I thought the point of the NS10's was that they sounded pretty crap? Therefor for reference monitors they were perfect for comparing your mix between systems? G
19. MXL 603s. http://www.thomann.de/gb/mxl_603s.htm?partner_id=59917 Some reviews suggest it is super bright... The 604s has a pad switch which would be helpful but i dont think they come on their own. opinions would be great. G
20. I use pro tools, logic express amd reason. There are no real differences kiwi. Cubase, PTS and Reason run like-for-like on a mac and pc. Locig is a mac only application though. G
21. with the likes of the api or neve you could just bin your pre. The Funk - you played with any the drawmer valve compressors? I used the 1968 dual valve fella the other days and it was lovely. Really subtle but effective compression. It amazed me that, the more you spend of compressors, the less they sound compressed and sound more natural if you get what i mean. The S3 looks like it should be in a Tank. Hell, it probably was.... G
22. So that would be last night then? how did it go. They sound quite porcupine tree esque.... i like it G
23. Nice! Looking forward to seeing this one all done G
24. http://www.apiaudio.com/7600.html Awesome piece of kit that http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/page/shop/fl...7099/a/r/e/base Again. Now, although these cost a fortune, i bet either will be the last thing you will ever buy being up there in some of the best studio outboard money can buy. G
25. Dood, i have used some TL Audio stuff and dont like it too much. It made stuff quite muddy. I have heard other reliability probems about them too (although everyone i know with them has not had too much bother).
