What he said was that they were getting people going in and trying stuff then buying from the internet.
that sort of behaviour does annoy me as well... and people wonder why shops are going under... It's going to get far worse over the next few months as people pull their spending in... distinct lack of discretionary spending money in the economy...
  2.
All gone now!
well edit the title of the thread to indicate this fact please... then I wouldn't have looked in here... and been disappointed... 'twas after 5 string flatwound sets...
  3.
Black p-bass body in great condition apart from 2 scratches below the volume pots. Will post pictures if interested. £25 plus p&p or pickup from sunderland
So this is the body from which you're also selling the pickups and bridge... is the neck going the same way as well, or did I miss that one...
  4. Peavey Max 126... 10 Watts into 6.5" speaker... has headphone out and CD/MP3 input... http://www.peavey.com/products/browse.cfm/...AX®%20126.cfm That's what I currently have... does the practice job in the flat fine. although I'm currently looking now in the 30 Watt range to fill the capacity gap between my Peavey, too small for Church and my Laney RB6, too darn big and heavy too boot... I'd also look at the baby Marshall... http://marshallamps.com/product.asp?productCode=MB15 bit more expensive than the baby Peavey... £70 in shop vs £50 but you are looking at 15 watts there in an 8" speaker and a built in compressor...
  5.
only about half an hour left...
you have a reserve... it's the starting bid... people can't bid unless they enter a figure higher than that... don't you know there's a depression on now... no one's got any money now after Christmas etc. prices are really depressed in the secondhand market... you'll only shift that if you drop the starting price quite a bit lower... then you may get a bidding war started... oh and some more pictures of the actual bass itself would help... it's one thing talking about the flamed maple body, but you haven't shown it...
  6. get out... it's impossible to win... no matter what happens, they'll blame you for the band failing anyway even though it's really the guitarist's fault...
  7.
just a suggestion why dont you buy a true bypass loop pedal?? so that you can leave the zoom on at the desired patch all the time, but have it truely bypassed in a loop pedal, so all you have to do is stomp on the loop and that engages the zoom??
the only problem would then be not being able to take advantage of the DI out of the Zoom for hooking up to a PA...
  8. seems to be doing what Sellaband do... http://www.sellaband.com/
Are you saying that if this unit had the same system as the old Zoom, then you would have 50 different patches set up, and scroll through them until you get the right one, and then press both switches at the same time? This sounds like a rather unreliable/difficult method.
Zoom B2.1U doesn't work like that with the external footswitch... pressing the external foot switch momentarily puts it into or out of bypass mode or takes it out of mute mode into normal mode if it's in it... pressing and holding the external foot switch when in normal mode puts it into mute mode... unfortunately, while in bypass or mute mode, pressing either foot switch on the zoom itself takes it out of bypass/mute... it can't be set to change patch while bypassed/muted the only way to effectively change patches while bypassed/muted is to use a separate stompbox I use my Behringer tuner as a mute so I can change patches and tune up at the same time between songs.
  10. for home use I'd recommend getting one that has an aux input for hooking up to your CD/MP3 player or the audio out from the computer...

I find an extra foot switch really makes the Zoom more usable... I got my switch with my Alesis drum machine... the switch makes it easier to bypass and/or mute... you don't have to fanny around trying to hold down both foot switches on the front of the Zoom...

yes... but as far as I can tell, you have to do it as an option while viewing that member's profile
  13. cool... a built-in bottle opener... I'd buy it just for that!!! anyway, looks like at least two people have had problems getting standard length strings to fit it with that string through body bridge... look's to me like the scale length could be 35" or else the ball ends are too big for the ferrules and as a result, the strings aren't sitting properly in them... hmmm locking nut as well...
  14.
I think I'd try slackening the truss rod somewhat, and raising the strings at the bridge a little to compensate - though you may need to shim the neck joint. Of course if there are specific high frets, they need reducing...
definitely sounds like the bridge saddles are too low...
  15. look's like it's a pass then...
  16. any one got any experience of these 5 string basses? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Stagg-5-string-fusio...1QQcmdZViewItem I'm tempted to hit the BIN, but don't want to be left with a pup that's hard to shift
  17. too late... it's been pulled... you should have gone for it while it was there...
  18. means it's less likely to fall over when propped up against your stack...

  20. the gauges for SM77 Jazz Bass Monel Flats on their website are as follows:
4 String Sets----- SM 77 : 40 60 80 100 - RS 77LD: 45 65 85 105 - RS 77LE: 50 75 95 110
not sure why my box was black though...
  21. the pack I have is black and has the label "Custom Bass Strings"... the sticker says "SM77 Jazz Bass" the four envelopes inside have : JBL040, JBL060, JBL080 & JBL100 not sure if they are Monel either... they were the only set of flats in the shop, so I bought them...
  22. will people please stop replying to him... he might just give up then...
  23.
There are more folk doing uni level courses in photography in the UK this year than there are professional photographers in Europe.
oh dear... they've been sold a pup... the market for stock photos has collapsed... everyone and his dog's got a semi-decent camera in their phone so there's very little market for news photography either...
  24. well I'm glad you didn't get a Laney RB6... nice combo, but HEAVY... two man lift territory... I can't complain too much about mine though, I got it almost new for half list price... I'm currently looking in the 30 watt region... as my Peavey 126 is too small and my Laney RB6 is too big for my current playing in church... looking at getting a Marshall MB B30 or a Peavey Max 112
