1. I would suggest investing the money in a course in record mixing and production with some chunks in compositional theory, song writing etc... and while you're there, take advantage of the facilities to practice hard and record your own compositions... and also make some contacts and get out playing as a group to get some real performance under your belt... for your coursework, you could then record and produce a demo record for your group... then again, I'd be expecting to do all that as part of a diploma in modern music anyway...
2. gosh, you've gotta be quick round here when there's a bargain to be had... I was busy doing my numbersums to see if I would have enough after this to get to the end of the month with some left over... this quarter's electric bill was the scary unknown that put me off... pah!!!!... never mind... next time I'll just go for it and pray some money comes up elsewhere...
3. fer heck's sake... just watch Phil Lynott in action... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rENy7MQIYJs just watch him when he moves away from the mic and starts throwing shapes with his guitarists and working the crowd...
4. Arghhhh!!!! GAS attack... I've just fallen in lust with the Italia Imola Deluxe 5 string in Cherry Sunburst... http://www.arbiter.co.uk/italia/electric_b...bass_guitar.htm
5.
Yamaha TRB6 mk1, got it off here a few months back. Great sounding and playing bass, wide range of usable tones, comes with a fitted case. £450
If that TRB had been a 5 stringer in that blue I'd have been driving round to your place this afternoon... the sixer is just too wide a neck for me... plus I have no use for those notes on the C string...
6. why don't you buy his bass "as is" and then part it out yourself??? he's only asking £125... heck, you could make a profit here... why should he be left with trying to sell an incomplete bass after you've bought the "good bits"...

Zoom B2.1
Hi, I might be interested as I'm thinking of swapping my B2 for a B2.1u but I'd like to get to know more about editing the patches via USB ? A lot of sites reference 'remote patch editor software' but I can't find any sign of it anywhere on t'interweb ? Any experience with this ?? Thanks, Darren
there is no editor software for the B2.1U... it's the G7.1UT and G9.1tt that have a librarian package and that's getting picked up in web searches... there are one or two websites that haven't actually checked their "copy" and have quoted some of the Guitar guff on the B2.1U specs... I believe one did it, and the others are thinking it must be true and not actually checking properly. They tend to rip each others copy off. 11. Peaches - The Stranglers and the festive favourite I'm doing tomorrow morning as part of the Christmas morning service is: Merry Christmas Everybody - Slade (different lyrics though... same tune)
12.
Cheers OBBM.. Was completely stitched up by Stingrayfan of course (Hi Matt ) ; I believe the magazine needed someone to help broaden it's appeal to the older, more miserable looking reader.. Haven't seen it yet but will lounge around the newsagent tomorrow trying to look cool, waiting desperately for someone to buy the magazine. Which in Littlehampton, could be a long wait!!
so you won't be having a signing session then?
13. me, knocking out something on the E string at a recent jam session... guitarists, why is it they can only come up with "oh, lets jam in E minor"...
14. looks like a rear routed Warmoth body... actually quite tasty looking if it didn't have those big dings in it... pity he only ships in USA... otherwise I'd have had a pop at it... and the neck and pups...
15. that's what actually gets to the soundboard... the sound guy's a genius at fixing it... it's amazing what you can do with software these days...
16. get a humidifier and make sure the room you keep and play it in has a stable temperature & humidity... If you're taking it out to gigs, then you'll have to live with a higher action if you don't want the hassle of taking the neck off to set it up several times a month... that, or shell out and get the neck modified with stiffeners as suggested earlier.
17. tasty... if I didn't already have the Squier VMJ, I'd take that off your hands in a flash...
18. there's a rather tasty looking one-off g**tar up there from them as well http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rickenbacker-360SPC-...1QQcmdZViewItem
19.
If he wanted over £700 why didn't he put a reserve on it. I saw another auction on ebay where the seller didn't put a rerserve and wrote in the discription "I won't be letting this go for peanuts". So in other words "if I don't get what I want I won't follow the sale through". It stinks!.
ah yes, the old, I'll just pull it with only 24 hours to go... just claim it's no longer available or some other silly reason... 'tis a ****** when you're the sole bidder and it vamooshes just before they can't pull it without penalty...
20. to get through my gig on Xmas day morning without any embarrassing fluffs...
21. get a semi-acoustic bass so I can go un-plugged with the folksey set... de-fret one of my basses get an amp which sits in between my 10 watt and my 160 watt ones... Currently thinking of a Laney RB2, 30 Watts 10" speaker and only 11.25 Kg
22. I've just bagged a cheap 5 string bass on ebay... probably regret it, but I need a cheap 5 stringer asap and the only ones in the shops are outside my immediate budget... It's this one... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=330194343949 Never heard of the make before... but it came in my range and I (well my proxy) was the only bidder at £69.50 + £16.85p&p well, we'll see how good it is when it arrives... If I'd discovered it had been posted in here and I'd ended up in a bidding war with a fellow BC'r, I'd have been upset...

24. oh for deity's sake... this Bass is really haunting me now... I have the money... yet I now have to purchase a 5 string bass with it instead... no, must resist... I need the 5 stringer...
25. Elwood: What kind of music do you usually have here? Claire: Oh, we got both kinds. We got country *and* western. Mrs. Tarantino: Are you the police? Elwood: No, ma'am. We're musicians. Jake: Uh, Bob, about the money for tonight. Bob: Oh, yeah, $200, and you boys drank $300 worth of beer. Willie 'Too Big' Hall: I say we give the blues brothers one more chance Donald 'Duck' Dunn: Why not? If the s**t fits, wear it. Jake: The Cadillac we used to have. The Bluesmobile! Elwood: I traded it. Jake: You traded the Bluesmobile for this? Elwood: No, for a microphone. Jake: A microphone? [pause] Jake: Okay I can see that. What the hell is this? Elwood Blues: Duck, give me a mountain tempo in A minor. Elwood Blues: Is there anything in particular you would like to hear this evening your highness? Queen Mousette: Yes. Do something Caribbean. Elwood Blues: Uh, ma'am, we're the Blues Brothers. We do blues, rhythm & blues, jazz, funk, soul. We can handle rock, pop, country, heavy metal, fusion, hip hop, rap, Motown, operetta, show tunes. In fact, we've even been called upon, on occasion, to do a polka! However Caribbean is a type of music, I regret to say, which has not been, is simply not, nor will ever be a part of this band's repertoire.
