  1. Oooh I forgot about that. Sorry to those who like him but cheers Vibes.... gas well and truly over 😀🥂. Holding what sounds like a baseball bat size neck thinking of him in some tantric sex pose is not worth any tone in the world😳.
  2. I do not believe it is anything to do with his playing. I really dig Bobby Vega obviously (his playing accompanied the guests into my wedding venue), and have been influenced by him. In that same session he plays a 60s P I think, an 1980 P too, I think also a Jazz. Now unless he has added something additional to the mix with the 56, then the 56 just runs away with it for me. I have all the basses I need at the moment, love them all, but this tone really turned my head, not Vegas playing.
  3. Deep necks are a bit of a turn off for me too. My new Vintera Mustang is as deep as I can go.
  4. Yeah man, it really sang in that clip. Really blew me away. My Thunderbird sings a bit like that, but the mahogany and really hot pickups give it a growlier vibe (utterly brilliant in its own right mind). That P sounded so pure.
  5. Oh my days. I have just watched this. I know it's Bobby Vega, but the tone is quite possibly the best thing I have ever heard, especially the bit at the end when he plays Wind Cries Mary... Now if you watch the same session with the 60s/80s P and Jazz, they don't come close for me. Has he added some extra flavour or are these bad boys that good? I know Dusty Hill swears by his, but I could never get over the look (pick guard and headstock especially I think). Feel a bit sick that I could have completely ignored this style of bass due to aesthetics alone😞.
  6. The Fall, live at the witch trials too.... although if you burn you've already been convicted😳
  7. Oh yes....love this. No beers or food at the wake either😀.. Just Unknown Pleasures on repeat.
  8. Couldn't pick a favourite, like my mum did (although rather be with you and all things must pass are right up there) ... so I picked songs that I love but do have a lighter side.
  9. March and November... pah. I'm a Postie... 365 days thank you very much (minus bank Holidays) 👍
  10. Short and sweet. My wife has been tasked with playing the following if I pop it first. Bootsys Rubber band - I'd rather be with you (as everyone files in) ELO - It's over (at the end of the short music based service - drinks are waiting!!) George Harrison - All things must pass as the curtains close (for maximum tearjerker effect😁 ) My mum was sent off with House of the Rising Sun.... Her choice..... brilliant😳😀❤️.
  11. We may not be on exactly the same fonk page, but we are reading from the same book😃. Cordell Boogie Misson from Parliament is one of my fave bass players. Flashlight was mostly Bernie Worrell if I am not mistaken (have you heard Praxis?) . Stevie is just sublime Stevie. Love a bit of Rocco Prestia, but find Tower of Power a bit OTT sometimes. I saw them at Phoenix 95, with Parliament., Bootsys Rubber band, Public Enemy, Ice T, body count, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Freak power, Galliano amongst others... Think Weller too but could be mistaken. What a line up that was😳⭐🎸.
  12. Could I tempt you ..... Probably not, but it gave me an excuse to listen to it. Slap at its very finest in my humble opinion.
  13. My Vintera pickups are a little lower output than all my other basses. Have messed around with pickup heights but still the same. I assumed it was the 60s inspired wiring in the Vintera pickup. I can eq any discrepancies out if I am using more than one bass live. Easily forgiven though for the tone I get though - especially when using a pick. Just incredible. Never thought I could get such a fonky tone and vibe using a pick. I prefer using it to slapping (I am very much in the Larry Graham camp here tone wise - although I am partial to a bit of Miller and Meshell too). It's great all round but this unique personality trait gives it its own special place in the hareem.
  14. I'll try again. Off your nut? Pungent effulgent👍
  15. That was not meant to happen..... Imagine the Ozriks music with Stains lyrics, 😳
  16. Anyone off their nut on this lovely bank holiday?? Look no further than the Ozriks Pungent Effulgent 👍 F me you tube is not your friend "what is the purpose of suffering, what is the purpose of joy".... with some kind of Wimbish honk in the background..... no wonder I was dismayed at parting my cash..... On the other hand the family stand.... Ghetto Heaven is still cool.

  20. I'll have to dig it out of the loft..... coz I can't remember that. All I can remember is a really dark, depressing, sad experience which confused and upset me in equal measure Yep that's it... like a stain in my pants😕
  21. Yep that's it... like a stain in my pants😕
  22. On this like a rash...... Oh yes. I love Times up the most to be honest. Love rears up its ugly head blew my mind at the time. I remember buying the first album to feature Wimbish on it on tape😀. Couldn't get my head around it... terrible let down. Don't know the name of it but the cover was red....
