  1. Quality album. I had fist and last and always on vinyl... lent it out... never seen again like many of my records. I am now a definite neither a lender or a borrower be. My nan was right after all....
  2. Me too.. just no good at their compilation albums😀 I am an 80s child. I went to college with friends that wore hats with flour on, with faces whiter than their blonde hair.....etc etc. Still don't see the Cure as proper Goths though..... This is proper goth..... what a tune, what rock star🎸⭐
  3. Me too. Mines a few beers with g an t chasers.... yours?
  4. I even love trawling through kiss me kiss me kiss me for the good stuff😃
  5. Agreed about Key of Life. I bought that for my wife for a valentines present 3 months after we met........ 20 years later.... I still stand by my choices though. 😊 Ha ha staring at the sea... Sorry you are correct.. I love disintegration too but some of the early stuff is unbeatable
  6. Apologies if they did. I didn't really follow them after Never say die. My dad had live evil (I think that was what it was called) with Dio singing......... not for me at all. No, my link is to do with an early ELO album cover........
  7. I challenge you all to point out where I am wrong😎. Maybe ELO for the proper prog fans and Sabbath for the meow meow rock fans (technical ecstasy anyone? ) ..... the rest are bang on correctamundo. I could force my obviously correct opinion on you with more choices but I can't be bothered anymore and have thrown out all my toys😘...... Oh and by the way 😂😂😂🍷😍 PS kudos for the first person to reply with the connection between an early ELO album cover and Sabbath.....
  8. Nomeansno - Wrong. (one of the best records ever made in my humble opinion... and Rob Wright's bass playing and sound😳) James Brown - Love Power Peace Live in Paris 71 Parliament - Tear the roof off The Cure - Standing by the sea Thin Lizzy - Live and Dangerous film or CD ACDC - Let There be Rock Live in Paris DVD Stevie Wonder - For once in my life/Inner Visions Black Sabbath - Master of Reality Public Enemy - it takes a nation of millions Meters - Rejuvination Funkin on the 1- 5 CD compilation - hard to find but has all the proper fonk you will ever need. ELO - out of the blue... I know but it has some classics on it. I must stop for now as my boy wants my phone to play Mario Run 😃
  9. I had serious Gas for a Stingray around the time when it all first started before the Lockdown. Had to be an Old Smoothie though coz I want the more mellow tone......I'm just not a massive fan of the harsher Zing from a Stingray. Just not enough cash in the wallet. Got really ill the day of the Lockdown... I'd put all my basses on Covid19. Nearly hospitalised. Two and a half weeks later, felt better......... Mustang ordered, two days after that nice Mr DPD was at the door. Bit of a tweak here and there, lovely thing. Still want an Old Smoothie. One day, one day......
  10. When I fancy listening to them, it is mainly this I gravitate to. The Fearless Flyers. Nate Smith kills it. Some great cameos too.
  11. He's heard I get high on you..... It was the track playing at my wedding when everyone was entering the service👍. Dunno about anything else... I must show him the error of his ways though. Interestingly I use exactly the same plectrums as Mr Vega - 0.73 standard Dunlops.
  12. To be fair, he does play a bit of bass too. I turned him onto flats on his P with a foam mute so I am partially to blame🙄. However I will tell him to use only his face to drum, after I have floored him with my Mustang tone.
  13. Absolutely agree. The drummer I am working with is totally anti plectrums. I am thinking of a t-shirt for him. Front - 'stick your plectrum'. Back - 'up your re%tum' 😃. Back on topic, can't wait for him to experience my new mustang using a .73 Dunlop with the amp set with bass at 1 o'clock, treble nearly full and high mids at one o'clock (all else flat).Oh my days, the tone is insanely good. Never thought I would put treble anywhere past 12......Sounds so damn funky and fat.
  14. Really appreciate it. The support all round has actually taken me back a bit. Had a little card left on the van yesterday to say thanks. There are loads of lovely things in windows and on doors to say thanks too.
  15. Not a bad shout that. I tried one of the BB range at fair deal in brumtown. Can't remember which but it was less than 300 with the silver pickup surrounds, which were the only thing to put me off it. In hindsight, I should have bought it. Did the same with a lovely white Rockinbetter - the binding looked a bit shonky for £500.....Still feel a bit of a numpty.
  16. I agree totally Lozz, however I fall in love too easily. I never wanted a hareem - honestly 😳.
  17. This post from another thread might help as there are differences between mine and the newer ones. I assume the new version will be as great if not possibly better. Although the neck on mine is not chunky at all.
  18. I have the 70s classic vibe Squier. Flats and foam mute under the ashtray = fab tone. Lovely feel to the neck. Just brill for the money. Can't recommend it enough. However, mine is slightly older model with the ashtray and brass saddles. Don't know if it is any different now.
  19. Does 32.25 count???. If so I'm in. I don't need an excuse to post this pic again as I love it. Westone Thunder II version 3 from 83ish. Maple thru with a rosewood board. Super boomer I pickups. Optional xlr added too. My first true bass love from around 90...pearl anniversary already, bring on the diamond💎
