Royal Mail post times a mess. A warning
P-Belly Evans replied to Clarky's topic in General Discussion
You are quite right. And there is loads of big stuff too.. up to our weight limit. The oversize parcels as we call them can fill a transit at the mo. Its the perfect storm. Loads of letters, little to medium and oversize parcels, less staff, no van sharing etc etc. -

That is class.... let's just say I did not write derrière. Basschat goes for a francaise alternative. As Del Boy said... Bonjour! -

It's really difficult to distance indoors, so I am not sure how the country will get back to normal work wise, but we are not van sharing when outside..... which makes the job a real pain in the derrière. -

Not in Scotland are you? I know that a couple of delivery offices had wildcat strikes a while ago for the same reasons. -

Yeah it's still not a bad job. Getting harder and harder though. I was made redundant from a really good job with Chubb on the alarms about four years ago. Went into I. T. and hated it. My wife saw the Royal Mail job and I went for it. Big drop in wage partly coz it's part time (loads of OT if you want it) . Suits me though with two little ones. Don't need the money as they are not cash hoovers yet. Get to see loads more of them and don't bring work home anymore like when I was managing. Also sneak in a bit more playing time 😎. Just can't afford to buy those thousand quid + basses anymore. -

I'm a postie and I have never been busier. However deliveries to my house are more infrequent. I think some delivery offices are prioritising certain items - maybe due to staff shortages - and others, like mine, are going full on hammer and tongues. I advise to send items tracked at the moment if possible. The parcels I am delivering each day are around the same, if not more than Christmas. It is also Ramadan, so charity letters and parcels in some areas are through the roof. Apologies if the service is not up to usual for you all.- 96 replies

The best sounding basses on this planet?

Sorry for the repost above.. Accident. Anyway what's everyone's beef with his playing. He has a lot at steak demoing his own gear. -

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but I have just discovered that if you play it at 45 rpm backwards it is in fact this Goodnight😙 -
Grey .73 dunlops for me. I mostly play with fingers but love playing with a pick sometimes. Just enough bite with plenty of give to jump between strings. In my humble opinion Bobby Vega has chosen wisely.

This is my fave from rock school. Also this.. My lovely Thunder II. Not Henry Thomas inspired at the time, but still cool enough to show off nowadays.

I wondered when the kids felt tips would come in handy... and the benefits of all the cash I spend on ice lols😊

Fretmeister, this is pure class. So much so that I totally nicked it and made 2 yesterday. Can't pay you at the mo so a big thanks, mega kudos etc etc will have to do.

My flats on the P are 45-105 and the lagging works really well. I tried to put a set of long scale flats I had on my new Mustang.....never seen a flat unravel before😳. So I was curious to see how a mute would sound with the heavier stock rounds on the Mustang. I really like it to be honest. It gives a tone and feel of Cordell Boogie Mosson on Dr Funkenstein (I think it was him and not Bootsy) . I am going to get some flats for it soon though as I think the stock Fender strings are poop.

Didn't know that Kevsy. The pipe lagging is a good density though. Dunno about over vs under but the P bass is really thumpy. Might try it under to see if there is any difference.

Hi all. How do you do yours? Under, over. Beautifully cut or just slabs? What materials do you use? etc, etc. I found that a cut piece of pipe lagging works a treat. Great thump. Over the strings on my P and under on the Mustang. I was thinking about cutting little squares and using double sided tape, but didn't know if it would damage the bridge. Any thoughts and cool ideas would be appreciated. I've got no sound clips yet but will try later. Also I cannot afford any more GAS at the mo, so no gratuitous pics of Rics or Stingrays.... oh if you must.

Lovely bass too by the way.......enjoy🍷👍

Totally agree with this. I walked away with a free Epiphone EBO with my 2013 Thunderbird from Guitar Guitar for not much north of a grand. Wanted the EB3..... tight buggers said no. Now before you all start, the TBird has no neck dive and the EBO 'looks' bloody great........ Also I got a natural finish VM jazz about a month before the Sires were first announced. It is lovely but probably would have waited if I had known, although my CV 70s P (black 😁) is different gravy for the price with flats and a foam mute under the ashtray
