  1. Dogal Hellborg Strings where are they available in the UK?...thx
  2. forgot about this...great line....fab!
  3. Very typical of many bands, particularly if one member tries to fill the venue with there backline.....the best you can do is encourage them to have a hearing test
  4. Excellent, thank you for the link, very useful. We are a 3 piece with silent stage for over 5 years (v'drums, no backline or monitors) Good quality IEM's digital desk to DACS headphone amp, wired to IEMs. each band member controls their mix on iPad or phone...fab quality sound no low level noise & only 0.7ms latency (desk is 96kz). 25 gig and 30 rehearsals a year: our ears are great (all in or 70's) and we are not tired after a gig....many local musicians/bands come and see us, not for the music but for the sound & kit...ha My 5 piece is wedded to monitors & acoustic drums but they do run the stage as quiet as poss but no where near as good "on any level" as silent stage!....give it a try
  5. Mike, now owns my short scale MM Stingray!!! As always easy transaction and he traveled to try & collect. We had tea and cake & put the bass world to right!!!! Mike has over the years been a go to guy for advice, so I'm pleased he has this bass. Recently Mike did a review of the LFsys Monaco cab, which I acquired & is amazing....check it out Thx Mike
  6. Yes its a serious investment, essential to try out...have a great Christmas & new year
  7. You might be right.....I've used it with a Demeter, Agular, G&K, Warwick, ...all good but the Quilter bass block fits in the recess!!!!!...ha
  8. My Monaco has just arrived, have only used in my music room, but already found the cab responds to amp/ guitar eq changes clearly & fully. I have been able to get some full/rich bass sounds across the 4 strings...have A B tested with wedge 10" & 12" (both with comp' drivers) the monaco has much deeper accurate & tight bass end!...will need to rehearse to get band feedback & then gig.... The construction is very solid and clearly sealed and very ridged as no buzz etc! the handle is excellent and makes the 15kg very manageable..... but so far very pleased and confident about gigging. I have had many cabs (too many) inc Green boy...this looks as if it might be moving to #1...particularly the price which imo is very reasonable.
  9. If anyone is looking for an ambient mic I have one I have tested on BC...thx
  10. The Towers this Sat, Elvis to Blondie !
  11. If you use IEM's & would like crowd feedback, I have added a shotgun mic which I have tested & suitable...thx
  12. Wonderful gig @ one of our fav' venues All Saints church Shillington Saxon), most of the village turn up! Also they provide a hot meal...gig heaven...ha
  13. Played with The Towers last night @ Delapre Abbey Northampton...great fun
  14. Valid observation. I find anything bigger than a smallish (intermit) pub/room, you need to amplify and balance. We use small RCF M18 digital mixer to provide a FoH (with sound eng) & monitor mix to keep the stage low in vol for pitching etc & FoH low as required (this has the effect of more listening/ quieter audience) ...trying for Hi Fi quality /separation. The guitar is a nylon electric, bass Gillett electro acoustic +e' piano ...very happy with the controlled sound...great feedback from the audience (in the gig pic above, over 120) the other bands on with us were twice as loud...ha
  15. Last Saturday with my acoustic band "Human Too"
