  1. For sale is my Ashdown "Dr Green" effects housed in a heavy duty metal pedalboard. I understand these were originally sets taken to shows by Ashdown as demo units, and I bought it from them direct last year. Contains: Tune Up - Tuner, Doctors Note - Envelope Filter Aspirin - Compressor Bearded Lady - Fuzz Waiting Room - Delay Bass Verb - Reverb It would probably originally had an Octodose instead of the delay originally, but I really wanted the delay and verb to combine together as I was going through a bit of a "Steve Lawson" solo bass phase last year (badly) 😂. I initially linked the board to a looper at Home which was great fun. These are decent effects, nothing ground breaking but a good solid board. They take some tweaking, sometimes using fairly extreme settings on the dials to get the sound you want, but the sounds are definitely there. I particularly like the Bearded Lady and the Verb, so much so that I ended up taking it apart and integrating these two into my main board. However I've scaled that back a bit now and these have now been removed again and the set is all back together. As tempted as I am to keep it it is really now surplus to requirements now and ideally I'm trying to raise some cash to buy a Barefaced cab! They are in excellent order, with only the Waiting Room pedal really showing any obvious marks, and the odd scuff on the board itself. The board is built like a tank, with all a wiring hidden and the pedals held on by the battery compartment screws and the jack nuts (see pics). All it needs to run is a 9v 500ma supply which are a few quid on Amazon if you don't have one already. There's no risk of velcro coming off or accidentally knocking out cables with this, I think you could drop it down the stairs and it would still work 😃 Asking for £150 - thats basically £25 per pedal! Would much prefer collection (socially distanced) but will post at cost. Alternativelty I could be tempted to trade for a quality compressor or interesting effects of some kind.
  2. Wow, don't know how I missed this thread until now - absolutely beautiful work there @Cosmicrain @Bass Culture is one lucky guy! Now the question is, could you make a 34" scale 6 string version for me 😁
  3. Loving it Mike - great work!!! 👍👍
  4. Have always fancied one of these! Shame you aren't a bit more local to Essex 😥
  5. Hi All, So thought I'd update you on what happened. DHL couldn't find the bass, it was last seen on CCTV in the wearhouse the day before the last scan, then it went missing. It's possibly it was damaged and "disposed of without being properly recorded", or that it went out on with an agency driver who couldn't find our address and then it got lost in the system. They aren't sure and it may resurface in an auction as some of you have suggested. There was 1 new purple burst available in the UK at Anderson's, and my email to the CEO resulted in personal contact from the head of Customer Services, who agreed as a gesture of goodwill to compensate Ollie for the extra so he could get that one. They were very helpful, even reserving the bass for us so it couldn't be sold while they investigated. So I have a very happy 13 year old who has a brand new bass rather than a used one, and I'm actually quite envious - it's a really nice bass!! Do I think this would have happened without directly emailing the CEO? Probably not given that I also emailed Customer Services independently incase the CEO didn't get my email and I eventually got a reply telling me it would be redelivered the following day, a week after I already knew they had lost it 😆 I probably wouldn't have bothered the CEO if it was just for me, I'd have just taken the PayPal refund and been cross, but I'm glad I took a stand for Ollie as he'd worked so hard and waited so long to get one. He's busy slapping some RHCP's as I write this, so was well worth it! Aside from this I also had 2 very kind offers for free basses for him, one on here and one on FB, and that also put my faith back in humanity and the bass community! All in all a very happy end to this tale. Thanks for all your input and suggestions!
  6. Actually I already did, and just had a very quick reply! He's escalated it and then I had a message from the head of customer services who is getting the depot to search for it. Fingers crossed! The Paypal refund will be easy enough, but would rather have the bass back for him!
  7. Hi All, Please keep an eye out for this bass. Our 13 year old son bought this on ebay having saved all his pocket money and worked hard doing jobs over lockdown to be able to get one. Unfortunately it has been "lost" by DHL's Basildon depot, having last been scanned there on 12th October and then vanished. How you loose a 3ft long 5kg package is beyond me, but the staff at DHL really don't seem to give a damn about trying to track it down. It's a Retrovibe Davie504 signature sn S108226. I wonder if perhaps it might turn up for sale having been "found" by someone having "fallen out" of the van. Luckily we bought on PayPal so we should get his money refunded, but it could be some time before he can find a replacement as they are like hens teeth second hand and Retrovibe our totally out of stock, even if he could afford to buy new. Also if you do see it then please let me know so we can report it to DHL/The local constabulary, and for goodness sake avoid UK Mail/DHL if you want your items delivered by a company that actually seems to care. Also if anyone has a Davie504 sig in purple they would be willing to sell to a grateful 13 year old please DM me 😬
  8. Thanks Mike, really appreciate the update - looks fantastic!
  9. Looking Awesome Mike, that's for these!!
  10. I has this recently with Pull me Under by Dream Theater. Mainly the fast section a 3 mins in. Took a break from it for a month, can back to it and nailed it pretty much first time. Sometimes it just takes the brain a while to process it all I think before it will flow. Also helps that I really worked on my RH technique in that time I think!!
  11. More progress from Mike - neck pocket and pick up recesses hand carved using the template seen in the pics:
  12. Mike is on to shaping the body now!! Love the detail of adding the dark veneer between the body and the bookmatched top!
  13. Some more build photos from Mike this weekend, all taking shape nicely!!
  14. No sorry sold now, will change the title.
  15. Brilliant, thanks for such a comprehensive review! Sounds like it would be ideal for what I have in mind based on that 👍
  16. Anyone had any experience of these? YouTube reviews seem largely favourable, but wondered if anyone has used one in a gigging or recording situation? Seems like a lot of pedal for not a whole lot of money. Cheers!
  17. Now on eBay with a £35 starting bid 😬
  18. Has gone up on eBay now but if anyone on here is interested I'd drop the price to £350.
  19. Good condition and in full working order complete with Power Supply. Light signs of use but no major dents or scratches. Great sounding pedal but I am revamping my board and is surplus to requirements. I haven't really used it to its full potential and has mainly sat on my board in case my rig dies mid gig. Will post or you could collect me in Chelmsford. Some specs and info are as follows: The Eden World Tour DI – or just WTDI – serves multiple purposes as it is able to shape your tone in a number of ways and at the same time you can use it as a DI to feed the Front of House, or you can run directly to an audio interface with balanced XLR inputs when recording. The EQ section has three knobs that cut or boost up to 15 dB at 30 Hz (BASS), 550 Hz (MID) and 5 kHz (TREBLE). The MID knob also has a MID SHIFT button that you can use to switch between the default 550 Hz as the center frequency and 2.2 kHz, which will give you control over the high-mid frequencies. In this section, you will also find a BASS BOOST button that increases the very low frequencies quite significantly. The GAIN knob on left side of the lower row is the first stage of the preamp circuit, but please note that it also affects how hard you drive the compressor, should you decide to use that. The ENHANCE knob gradually boosts the lows, high-mid and high frequencies, while at the same time creating a dip in the low-mids. In other words, this knob scoops your tone. The COMPRESSOR knob is a ‘one-knob operation’. You can dial in subtle compression or crank it up for more obvious compression. Finally, the MASTER knob sets the overall output volume of the pedal. Overall a really flexible pedal that gives plenty of options in a live or recording setting.
  20. About a year old. Mainly had home use and a handful of rehearsals. Really good condition with only the slightest of superficial marks. Reason for sale is that I have decided to upgrade to a POD Go as I have starting to get into DAW's during lockdown and want something with amp modelling. M-Audio expression pedal which is basic but works well and has probably only seen an hour's use tops. Complete with box, Original PSU and packaging. Both have velcro fitted from being safely kept in my Diago pedalboard when not in use. Has the latest updates done and will be restored to factory defaults before sale. Collection from Chelmsford, Essex. Price now includes postage to mainland UK.
  21. This is a really great stack that covers a lot of ground for not much money. Has the Profet 3.3 head which is rated at 300w. This is a really decent unit and a great improvement on the 3.2 as Warwick sorted out the input gain settings. Does everything you could want - inbuilt compressor, decent EQ with bright, deep and contour so is easy to get a sound you want, a plus DI, effects loop and tuner out . Also has headphones out for home use too! Just been professionally serviced as I took it in exchange and the mute switch was temperamental. Was just a couple of dry solders on the relay which have all been sorted and then it had all the pots, IDC's etc all cleaned and checked and all is all running perfectly now. Comes with a WCA 410 Pro (300w) and WCA 211 Pro (400w) cabs which are in really good clean order with hardly any signs of use. Provides a really good modular stack. You could just take the 210 or 410 to a smaller rehearsals/gigs, or ramp it up to the full 610 for bigger venues. Cabs are fairly lightweight and a good size but seems really solidly put together. Also with just the 210 or using the headphones it is good for home use too, so really covers everything you could need. Would be quite happy to play this myself and would be very pleased if I turned up at a show and it was the backline, it's really impressed me, but I have a full line up of Ashdowns and really don't need it!! Comes with all the leads and manuals. Collection from Chelmsford, Essex
