  1. HI All, I did a lot of research into which was the best compressor to get and the one which came out on top for value and quality was this little beast. Trouble is I just cant get on with bass effects of any description (probably an age thing!) So this is totally as new, used 3 or 4 times, complete with box etc, new decent battery, and I bought a PSU for it too. I paid £120 for the unit but will let it go for £75 delivered to mainland UK. 3. Hi Guys, I have an Ashdown Little Giant 350 in great nic, really impressive little amp, now surplus to requirements as I have just acquired a nice Markbass F1. £125 posted to mainland UK Cheers Stuart

  5. Spoombung, I am with you on this, I usually have the chord structure and orchestration written down, and particular bass parts tabbed. If I didn't have this aide memoir, after not playing a particular song for say 3 months, I would need to think about it all over again! its a memory thing, I am in two bands and need to juggle loads of songs and I am not lucky enough to be one of these guys that has a photographic memory and never forgets a song! I can read and really must improve my notation and agree it is an essential tool, but at a practise when you are making changes on the hoof, notation isn't really an option. Ignoramus of Hereford
  6. Hi guys, Due to a new singer joining my main band as the previous incumbent retired, there are a group of songs we have to drop a tone, and some of these don't transpose well on standard tuning. I tuned down one of basses a whole tone and it works well enough, but obviously strings are slacker, and the feel is different, is there any words of wisdom on this one? Cheers Stuart
  7. Kurca is a top bloke to deal with, great comms, paid quickly, a credit to Basschat.
  8. I too have made donations along the way, and have never been averse to subscriptions.
  9. well i missed all of that, and yes £20 is a bargain, but i have been a) out of country and ill, so plainly missed it,
  10. Hi, I just tried to list a bass for sale, first attempt disappeared into the ether, second attempt resulted in being directed to a subscriptions page. Have I missed a memo somewhere, am I not allowed to list items for sale? Is there a new system in place? Was a shame cos it was a very fair price for fellow basschatters. Have stuck it on ebay instead.
  11. George is a top bloke to deal with and a credit to Basschat. Deal with absolute confidence!
  12. I went to the first, would never go again because of exactly this, non-stop slap bass (at this show, apparently there isn't any other playing style), so annoying, and I am a bass player! HEADPHONES PEOPLE (to the organisers)
  13. Could be interested in any interesting trades?
  14. mind you I think your dating is optimistic at 1892, hell of a condition for a 19th Century instrument!
  15. Hi, I know this store and indeed the owner who is a great guy, a gigging musician and a long term friend. I have done many, many deals with him without any problem. He is a genuinely nice guy trying to do something a little different during a difficult economy. He isn't the normal music store. Hope this helps. Cheers Stuart
