  6. The best car in the world for general use and moving musical equipment in my humble opinion is a Fiat Multipla! I have been using these for some time and absolutely love them, flat loading bay, take the rear three seats out you have a huge van in a car frame. Anyhoo, I had a van hit the back of my 02 Multipla and put a crease in the boot, thats all, it runs well is a joy to drive is taxed and tested and has four new tyres and everything works. The Insurance company have written it off as a cat C and have let me buy it back for little money, it should never be a cat C as the only damage is a dent in the boot! So, rather than it go to waste if anyone wants an uber cheap band vehicle let me know! I know this might be infringing the rules but I hate to see it go to waste when it is such a great gear mover!
  7. Special collect only deal at £75
  8. I have a Laney RB4 160w combo in the for sale section for £90, just a thought
  9. Had a good gig last night, good crowd, good reaction, a whole lot of fun. We hadn't played together for 4 weeks and yet pulled a blinding gig out of the bag with only a few wobbly moments that the punters would never have spotted.
  10. Hi All, I have one of these great combo's surplus to requirements, all in great shape and very capable. Bought off this very forum! I can post pics if there is interest. £90.00 collection preferred, can meet up if not too far, or if necessary can look at couriers. SPECIAL DEAL - COLLECT IT AND ITS YOURS FOR £75 Cheers Stuart

  12. FIAT MULTIPLA, back three seats removed, will carry a huge amount of gear and is a very comfortable drive too. Best vehicle I have ever owned for all round general usefulness. Bonus is because they are percieved as ugly, the second hand price is always low. Can't rate them highly enough.
  13. I have pm'd, just waiting for a response
  14. Rickenbackers, love the iconic look, hate the playability, rubbish neck profiles and the awful attitude of the company themselves, but that's just me.
  15. Just put mine back on Amazon, totally mint, great book, but at that price, will get me some strings and stuff!
  16. Cheers Bob, and I think you are spot on, I think we should have an absolute minimum charge for both categories, which cannot be broken without full band consent.
  17. I agree with all of that, and again to put some perspective to it, this band has been around nearly 30 years, well respected, great following, always packs out a venue, and has the place jumping. Now if we were starting out or were a bit of a scratch band, then fair enough, but we have all paid our dues, spent a fortune on kit, I also have to bring the lights and background music too, so am getting very peed off with this, and am considering telling him he needs a dep for those gigs.
  18. So, yet again our singer has booked some weddings and parties and seriously underpriced us again. Now, normal pub fee is £200 - £250, that's fine, that is pretty much the norm I believe, but he has just taken a private party booking an hours drive away for £200 for a five piece band, and a wedding for £300, as we all know a wedding gig is an all day affair, where we will have to bring all the lights, background music etc, set up midday, pack down around 2am, you all know the drill. My question is what do you guys charge for weddings and parties? what do you consider fair recompense?
  19. Cheers guys, great advice as usual...
  20. Mind you, the last two messages I left for Roqsolid remain unanswered, we're talking weeks too! Oh well, I will remain optimistic and keep you all posted.
  21. I have noticed that my right thumb is not repairing, now what I mean by this is that I tend to rest my thumb on the top of a pichkup (the sharp cornery bit), and after a night of playing have a really nice indent in it, but it still hurts days later. Now, either I have to stop digging my thumb into the corner of the pickup, or create a curve on the pickup with sandpaper or learn the harmonica. Anyone had a similar experience and has a great solution? Cheers Stuart Dentythumb
