Complete loss of use of plucking hand - eek!!
vmaxblues replied to thepurpleblob's topic in General Discussion
I am experiencing this at the end of the second set at the moment, last two gigs, my left hand pretty much packed up, had to force my brain to make the hand work, really weird. -
Hi guys, We have been trying a new set up on stage over the last couple of gigs which is causing me an issue. Basically, the guitarist has an extension cab which is over my side of the stage and I have now split my rig so that I have one of my Markbass 1 x 15"s over his side, apparently this improves the overall sound out front which is great. Problem for me is that I now cant hear my sound like I have got used to it and dont want to crank up the volume as it will blast too much out front. My one thought was to elevate the cab on my side of the stage somehow. But all the stands I have seen so far tend to lean the cab backwards which is no use to me as I put the amp on the top of the cab. So I need some form of stand which will be flaf and also should be able to pack down reasonably small for transportation. My cabs are Markbass 1 x 15" travellers, so pretty light and not too big. Anyone have any ideas? Cheers All

Cheers guys, all good advice, I do know the player and as far as I know he is a decent enough guy. My problem are: Will a Double Bass push my rig too hard? It is unlikely that another player will leave my settings alone (which is what happened to my trace) Why should I take the risk? -
Hi All, We have a charity gig coming up in a couple of weeks time, and there will be two bands playing, and the old chestnut of 'can the other bass player use your rig' question has arisen. I have had this situation before and it always ends in tears, mine! the last big charity bash I did where I let the othe bass player use my rig saw the end of vintage Trace head. The other issue I have is that it will be a double bass (rockabilly) firing through my rig which I am really unsure about. My rig is and an Eden WT400 signature traveller head and 2 no 1 x 15" Markbass traveller cabs, which is a really sweet sounding setup and I would be mortified to see it toasted. My gut feeling at the moment is to say No. I am interested to see what you guys think, and especially what horrors a wildly slapped double bass could bestow on my pride and joy!

This is why this guy is my hero, no nonsense, no showboating, just class playing in an understated way.

Hi guys, You all know these amazing little units, Like it says: The new Micro Cube RX is small but powerful. It has stereo power amps and four newly developed custom speakers to deliver quality sound from a small body. Featuring 6 digital effects, a chromatic tuner, Rhythm Guide for practical rhythm training and connectors for CD/MP3 players, this is a well-equipped amp with all the features you could want. Battery driven it allows 13 hours continuous use and its compact body with carrying strap make it perfect for mobility while not compromising on the quality. Hi Guys, Thinking of moving this beauty on, it is without doubt the nicest fretless I have ever played, but there is very little opportunity of playing it live as our set doesn't really work for fretless. It is as new, with all the candy including original gigbag, book, tools etc... If there is interest I will post some pics. Wow you guys are a tough crowd! final price drop to £599! this seems to be absolute base price around (no pun intended!) Cheers All Stuart

If I wasnt struggling for space I wouldnt let it go. If you guys havent tried one, you need to, they are so focussed on the sound, truly great cabs. If we had someone to build to order that would make great sense, so good luck to you.

These are stunning cabs, great sounding. Only thing I would say is that I have one for sale on this very forum, I priced it ludicrously low to move it on to a fellow basschatter, included a roqsolid case, no takers! I am amazed it hasn't gone, because of what it is and how good it is, and the little I was after for it, but it might serve as a cautionary note in these uncertain times. Either way, best of luck!
