1. Bump with a reduction! £375 collected £400 delivered
2. Hi All, I keep wanting to like Fenders, but never quite get on with them! Up for sale here then is a really nice Highway 1 Fender Jazz in red with a nice tortoishell scratchplate. It is the later model with the badass bridge and I have added a 'gaffbass' split coil pickup which gives the bass a bit more punch, this pickup is housed within the standard jazz pickup case, very clever. The bass is in excellent condition, some fine buckle rash on the back and a couple of miniscule marks. If you want the original scratchplate and pickup back on then that is also possible. It plays well and sounds as it should with a little bit more growl. As ever forgive my useless photography. Looking for £400 plus postage. Cheers Stuart
3. For those that don't know, Wil is a top bloke to deal with. BTW nice stick bass, must get one sometime...
4. Good thread and a common issue for bass players. I was disgusted with that bloody series onthe box recently, 'im in a rock band', it had a show on the lead singer, a show on the lead guitarist, one on the drummer, and there was i waiting for the bass one, wrong! the next show was called 'the other ones', flaming typical, and had some ill informed 'celebrities' running down bass players...... such is our lot

7. Cheers for that Gary, I think it is looking beautiful, and you are more than welcome to come over and give it a blast when it lands.
8. Alan from ACG has just sent me the latest pic on my ACG bass, it's a new shape for him and we have just agreed headstock shape etc... I think it is looking great, any other opinions? http://www.acguitars.co.uk/Gallery/193/
9. I have a mint pretty much unused BR600 in a flight case if you are interested. I bought it for the band to use, and they never have! £165 plus potage and it's yours! Cheers
10. On reflectin I think I have not phrased this properly, I use hammer ons and pulls off in my normal playing style, what I was being asked to do was a pull off with a bend, and it was this pull off with bend that is what is the issue. Thinking about it now I use straight pull offs and hammer ons, but not in conjuction with bends. It was this bend on the 4th fret that was killing the finger. Does that make sense?
11. Poor technique then. OK, I need to practise it then. Cheers guys
12. Hi guys, This might seem like a daft question, but at a practise last night the guitarist wanted me to use a series off pull offs in a particular passage in a song, now, when I was a guitarist it was a technique I employed, but on bass for me it doesn't translate as well and kills my fingers. Question is is this a technique you guys use on bass? Your thoughts gratefully received......
13. I have been offered what looks like a really nice practise combo, it is a 180w Tech Sound systems neo combo, which is light and looks like a quality unit. Anyone know much about them? Cheers Stuart
14. I too think these are superb, totally focuses the sound.
15. Hi all, This is a really nice old Vantage fretless, was fretted originally but has been defretted at some point in its life. Its a tidy enough job and it is a very playable instrument. These were really good quality basses in their day and I am sure others on here will illuminate us! A few dings and marks here and there, but nothing major, I am guessing this is now probably a vintage instrument. I also think that this was a coloured stain finish originally, but it looks really nice as a natural finish. I have just put a set of new flatwounds on it. I think £225 is a fair price, plus postage. Again, apologies for bad photo's...
16. I will take it then, what about a meet up in Monmouth?
17. I used to have one of these and it was a great sounding superlight bass. Have a worthy bump on me!
