1. Hi BB, A very good friend of mine has a music shop in Worcester, and he was going to sell this for circa £1,500, I did a deal with him against some other equipment and took ownership. He tells me this bass was owned by musical youth and you can see it on youtube! The flightcase has all the right stickers etc on it to corroborate this. I was going to keep this as an investment/player, but I am not using it and other things have taken a priority, as a result I am prepared to let it go cheap for a quick sale. Make an offer! you never know... Cheers Stuart
2. Just to be fair, I am looking around £1100 for this beautiful instrument, I dont think that is too high, but am open to offers. Cheers Stuart
3. Some pics here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry485315
4. Hi guys, FOR ONE DAY ONLY, £800 COLLECTED - (4th June) WILL BE REMOVED AFTER TODAY - GRAB A BARGAIN! I will post some pics tomorrow if anyone is interested. This is a really nice 1979 red Fender Precision, it currently wears a nice red tortoiseshell pickguard, but i have the original white one which has a little bit broken off it by the jack plug. This bass is all original and plays and sounds gorgeous, I had bought this as a bit of an investment and as a player, but I am not playing it much and due to some nasty upcoming car bills I have decided to sell it. It comes with a proper flight case, aluminium and heavy! It has various marks here and there but nothing major, in fact the body is pretty much unmarked. there are a few marks on the back of the neck but nothing serious and it just adds to the mojo. So, if you like vintage fenders this is a gem and up for grabs. Pre ebay, will let this go to any bc'ers fro £900 collected, and that is an absolute steal!!
5. Hi guys, I am down in Manchester this weekend andmy mate who lives down here said he had found the bass centre in Manchester on the net and we should visit it. I am guessing it has gone as after an hour of searching we drew a blank. Anyone know the story?
6. My stepson's band has just been 'signed' by a major label, but it is a 'production' deal and they are being given £150k I have asked him what are the terms, what's in the fine print, but have had vague answers. Anyone out there know what a 'production' deal means?
7. Wow, a localish one! I will certainly try and come over if the date is OK, 20th looks good for me.
8. Yes, I would look at overseas shipping if you cover the cost or you could arrange a courier. Cheers Stuart
9. Hi guys, Up for sale is this amazing Kubicki bass, this is the key factor, brother of the X factor bass, difference being it has the keyed tuners instead of the headless arrangement. It has some amazing tones and a really effective EQ, this is the actual review model featured in Guitar magazine (I have a pristine copy that will come with the bass) All the specs here: http://www.kubicki.com/ I hope molan doesn't mind but I have shown the link below with all the pics and his excellent explanation. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=16276 I would be looking for £650 plus postage to any fellow B'chatters Cheers Stuart
10. Hi guys, I decided to change the pickguard of my newly acquired 79 Precision, I have kept all the original screws and the broken scratchplate it came with. I have also cleaned it all up and repaired the one machine head, and stripped and cleaned the others and the bridge. As I intend to gig this I needed it to be playable and as I wanted it. Excuse the dodgy pics, but thought I would share the new look!
11. Is this guy bonkers or is this the missing bass of Antioch?
12. A friend of mine who runs a music shop has asked me to see if anyone might be interested in a 1970 fender precision in sunburst in very good condition with all the covers. Apparently the guy who is offering it bought it from old and vintage guitars last year and paid a very healthy £2.5k for it. HE is now trying to move it on, but undserstands with current economic conditions he waill have to take a big hit on it. I have asked for some pics etc but said I would post a comment here to see if anyone is interested. Cheers Stuart
13. Vauxhall zafira, outstanding amount of room, 2 mins to move rear seats and make a sizable van, nice to drive. Top car for gear, I trnasport me and my gear and the guitarist and his plus all the lights, no problem!
14. I hear you, but although it is a bit of an investment I also want to gig it, it has sufficient mojo and I don't believe on having instruments and not using them. But that's just me.
15. but, it seems that an awful lot of Jazz basses are coming up for sale recently and very few precisions, is there a reason for this? Which are the most popular here?
16. I have just had my prized Ibanez Musician Bass re-fretted and I got an amazing job, fabulous workmanship, even the nut was remade to the original spec with a brass liner. I had this work done by: The Guitar Shop in Worcester, owned and run by Stuart Field, I cannot recommend highly enough. Cheers
17. I have acquired a 79 Precision which looks like it hasnt been cleaned in 30 years, I have decided to leave everything as standard, but to clean it. I used to have a 70's P many moons ago and had i kept it I would have kept it clean and polished. I have stripped and cleaned the machine heads, same for the bridge, and have cleaned and polished the neck. I have used decent wax cleaner on the body and it looks loads better, but it is still partially grimy, and I am cautious on what to carry on cleaning it with, any suggestions? Cheers Stuart
18. on my warwick dolphin it sits in the bottom of the pickup route alongside the pickup

20. Hi Rich, Yes the original plate looks ok and aged, but I am tempted to try a tortoiseshell one. Will put some pics up when i get it. Guess I should talk to Beedster as the resident vintage fender guru too! Cheers Stuart
