  1. OK, to answer some of the mails sent, I will pitch a price. So, £75 plus postage or buyer collects (includes free coffee)
  2. Up for grabs is a fun bass I used on a party gig, it is a fully functioning bass, and is actually quite comfortable to play. It is certainly a bass to turn heads and have a laugh with, but amazingly functions well. Boutique bass it aint, but it is a playable, does its job and is certainly a conversation starter. Passive four string, chinese made (I believe). Only used for one gig! It has been gathering dust in my office, so make me an offer I can't refuse!
  3. I'll have a ticket too. However, if you are not prepared to sell unless you get 100 takers, you should to be fair limit the tickets to 100, otherwise we don't know the odds when we buy a ticket. I would be happy to go for a tenner on a 100-1 chance, but wouldn't be quite as happy at 200-1 So to make it fair, if you are setting a limit it should work both ways. Just ny opinion fwiw
  4. I have a mnint one of these surplus to requirements, it is the original grey metal kidney bean, with pod case and power supply all as new. Offers
  5. Would add that Lysdexia is a top bloke to deal with, and sound as a pound!
  6. Have a look at my sig, anything there you might be interested in?
  7. Yup, playing at a good local pub, should be a good crowd, will be doing three sets of an hour. Not a great payer, but we all walk away with 100 notes each and hopefully had a lot of fun along the way......
  8. Unfortunately wants to sell it all in one go with cases. Sorry
  9. Apparently looking for 1200 all in
  10. It is all subjective, but on the basis that people dance to the bass and drums, I do a good job, I love seeing a crowded venue, with people enjoying themselves, and if as a band we can achieve that, then we have all done our job. I am often faced with other local bass players watching what I do, which generally isn't technical, but is right for the song, so, again I am doing my job, and enjoyinmg it. I remember one guitarist I worked with who was a supreme musician saying to me, ' I never have to worry about you, you are always there solid in the background', and I took this as a compliment, because often if we are all doing are jobs well, we almost become invisible sonically, punters don't notice because we are locked to bass drums and complimenting harmony lines and supporting the front line, but if we stopped..............................HUGE HOLE. Does that all make sense?
  11. A friend of mine may have a nice ampeg SVT3 amp and 8x10 ampeg cab all pro flightcased, would anyone be interested?
  12. I hate to say it too, but that is a great bass and therefore unlikely to be had for so little, I have had a couple of these and they tend to go for £300 ish, however if you find a stash of em for 150, let me know!
  13. After writing this great endorsement, my switch pack broke! So, I would tend to follow Bob's comments guys.....
  14. Oh, and I forgot to add, they don't damage your bass in any way and are easy to remove if you do sell the bass later.
  15. Ditto, I have just fitted a set on my beloved Dolphin, and they work extremely well. Would recommend this to you as I was in the same boat recently, Fretfx are good to deal with and it is a doddle to fit and they are very subtle and work a treat. I didn't fancy someone butchering my gorgeous Warwick neck, and this was a great solution. If I remember correctly the kit cost me around 70 quid and took a couple of weeks to arrive. I have just acquired another Dolphin bass, and the previous owner had fitted a set on it, result. If you have any questions about them, let me know Cheers Stuart
  16. Had a great gig at one of our local music pubs, we had a great crowd, we had a killer sound and everyone had a good time, we ended up playing three sets, and all this with a sprained wrist!
  17. Cheers guys, i am taking ibuprofen and using a cryogenic paste on the area, al seems to be helping, but i know i am going to struggle on the night! And in answer to an earlier question I am right handed. Cheers all
  18. We don't need folks like you on here, sort Beedster out and sod off
  19. Hi guys, I have a gig on saturday and my left hand is killing me, I haven't a clue what I have done to do it, it appears to be at the base of the thumb, and it is excrutiating to play, anyone got any ideas? Cheers Stuart
  20. Lysdexia, there can't be a better bass guitar photographer in the galaxy, your pictures are breathtaking.... Publish a book, we'd all buy it!
