  1. Just bought a Head from David, great comms, top bloke to deal with, well packaged and delivered the following day!
  2. Bump before withdrawing, sounds good may well keep
  3. Hi All, Now withdrawn, too good of a backup bass. I have had this a while and it is a very capable active 5 string. When I bought it it had a bit of damage on the back of the guitar, doesn't affect playability in any way, purely cosmetic and as it is at the back no-one sees it! I put a little black paint on it and it has never caused me an issue. The bass plays well, sounds good and is a great back up bass for a gig, or main gig bass for those gigs you don't want to take your £3k pride and joy too. http://www.squierwiki.com/Deluxe-Dimension-Bass-V
  4. I have too many 4 strings and I need to concentrate on my 5 string playing so am putting this beauty up for sale. It has recently had a stunning refret job done by our very own Andy Rogers and it plays like butter. It is a lovely instrument to play, has a few minor dings here and there but nothing that detracts from the playability. There are the customary couple of areas where the red finish has worn through, I cunningly put a couple of small squares of red grain fablon over them as a quick fix, but has stayed on for a while and I haven't bothered to remove or re-stain. Everything works as it should and it is a comfortable instrument to play, sounds nice, the neck is fabulous. I would be interested in 5 string trades if you have anything interesting. Cheers All.

  5. This is a light, superbly toned 5 string headless bass, I love the tonal range and ease of playability this bass has, but I am going back into a rock band and using my Ray. When I bought it one of the bridge adjusters had been chewed, NS very kindly sent me from the Czech Republic a brand new one! everything works and plays as it should, it has a fresh set of strings on it, Schaller S-locks and comes with the original quality gig bag. There is plenty of info out there on these and a lot of great reviews. RRP is a grand, Bass Direct sells them for £900, when they have them. I am asking a very reasonable £600 plus postage. Welcome to collect from Hereford.
  6. Best small practise amp out there, incredible tone
  7. Hi Guys, you know what these are, I have one in good condition complete with roqsolid cover.
  8. It plays beautifully too
  9. Got this recently from RussFM, and it is a lovely instrument, but now my trusty Warwick is back together it is surplus to requirement. See below original ad from RussFM, (hope he doesn't mind!) Have added a new set of Schaller Gold S-Locks and a fresh set of strings

  10. And it is spectacular! A superb job, fixed back on the bass, intonation was a dream to set. Neck plays beautifully, it is such a tidy job, all fret edges are smooth, beautifully filled, all the heights are bang on. When my beloved Ray needs the frets doing I know who I will be asking. I will take some better shots, but in the meantime, see below.
  11. I was really surprised with the roundwound strings, because they played well, tension was fine and amazingly didn’t sound tinny on the recordings. Having owned one of the earlier Kalas, I was pleasantly surprised and now prefer the journeyman. It is so playable snd so much fun! Got mine from bass direct.
  12. I have a journeyman and love it, very playable, did some recordings with it, great tone.
  13. You know you want to….
  14. wow, nice job! If I end up keeping it that is probably what I will do!
  15. by my bathroom scales 9.8lbs
  16. I think you are absolutely right about the pre-amp. I had an issue with the socket and one came up on here so just swapped it out. My main bass is pukka Ray and they play and sound the same. Just no fancy paintwork! I am starting to edge towards keeping it!
  17. few extra pics! tidied up the headstock a little.
  18. oh cheers, good shout, will see if I can contact him.
  19. I am looking to get a defretted bass refretted, any suggestions?
  20. Hi All, Here is my USA 5 string SUB with loads of Mojo, it has certainly been a players bass, bought off this very forum, and upgraded with a genuine USA Stingray EQ. It plays and sounds great and was a backup for my main stingray, which it did brilliantly, but I need an interesting 4 string for a project so am putting it up for trade.
  21. I got this a couple of years ago from Bass Direct in a trade, it is a lovely instrument to play, full blown German and has the perfect fretless tone for my ears. Trouble is, it is not getting used and with the musical ventures I am currently involved in there is no need for a fretless unfortunately. It is a defret not a factory fretless, see pics, but plays very well. There is a couple of small patches that the red oil stain has worn out on, one front and one back, I have stuck a little red fablon square on them, easily removed, probably easily re-stained? never bothered me. (again see pics) I am up for interesting trades 4 or 5 string or a straight cash sale.
  22. I know the size, it is clearly marked in the instruction manual, the trouble is these are very delicate being made of brass, and the previous owner obviously jammed in several different keys and buggered it!
  23. Thankfully, NS Design came through and I now have the parts, now fitted from the Czech republic!
