1.
Really confused as to what to ask for the body, any offers? As for the Geddy Lee neck it may seem quite a bit but I just bought it and yet to receive it. I paid £230 so something near that figure if possble.
I was hoping you were going to say 'threpence ha'penny' Never mind mate, would have been a wonder match for my jazz project, but I was just praying for a miracle on the price. Best of luck with the sale.
Damaged Geddy Lee Jazz Body What it comes with: Body - in a bad state, scratches all over the back and a chunk has been taken from one side. So really could do with replacing or refinishing if you fancy stripping it down. Original Pickups Control Cavity with joining wires to pickups Badass Bridge What it doesn't come with: Scratchplate Bakerlite style control knobs Neck plate and screws MIM Jazz Neck Rosewood, finished with rolled finger edges which is nice and complete with original tuners. Comes with Fender USA logo and serial number on back which are fake. Geddy Lee Neck - maybe available Have one coming through the post with original tuners - was going to rebuild the one above but might sell. I do not know know much I should ask for the parts so let me know how much you think they are worth
Might be interested in the Geddy Lee neck mate - you have a price in mind? Thx
 3. Definately the latter mate, I'd like to create the patterns (fills etc) and then create a track by programming them in the correct order.
 4. Hiya folks, My Dad is hounding me to start creating some drum tracks for him, as I have done for many years, using a trusty old Roland TR707. While the Roland is a brilliant bit of kit, it is limited in terms of the drum sounds it produces. I bought him an Alesis SR16 a few years ago but I just can't get into the bloody thing at all, as the instruction manual may as well be written in Hebrew!!! The help I'm looking for is either; 1) Can anyone provide me with an idiot proof guide as to how I create a drum track on the SR16 - the manual is awful!!! or 2)Can anyone recommend a PC based drum machine - something that I can create drum tracks for use live and to record as backing tracks Plan is to go live at some point, so will probably have tracks mixed down along with Rhythm and keyboard lines, with me playing bass live. Anyone help?
 5.
ever tried a Gallien Krueger? I've got their top end amp plus a rack and tuner for sale for £550? 700watts of delicious headroom and pretty much mint!
As a side note, I can vouch for the condition of Josh's gear mate, and even though I only played around 20 notes through it.....OH LORDY, LORDY LORD it sounds so good!!!!!
 6.
Don't want to put a damper on or anything but i bought the LG350 and was disappointed! I found that with my mag300 i had the input volume on half and the output volume on half, but twith the LG350 i found i had to have the input volume on full and the output volume on just over three quaters to get the same volume out of my cab! so i returned it and bought the LG1000 which is much louder!!!!
All info/ advice is always massively appreciated mate. I think another trip to sounds live is due......
 7.
ive got an ashdown MAG300 head up for grabs - 300w into 4ohm, its in excellent nick and never been pushed hard at gigs, i use it witha marshall 4x10. just bought the new little giant1000 so this is up for grabs as surplus now! looking for £150 if interested?
Thanks for that mate. Will need to see how things pan out. Not wanting to be rude, but I think I'd prefer the Little giant rather than the MAG300, but as I say, let me see how things pan out.
 8.
wow, a hartke 2200? Those are great! The person who you got it off must be a really cool guy!
Super cool, super smashing great guy....Can't quite remember his name though.....Jish or something.
 9. Just can't bring myself to get rid of this wonderful bit of Trace history. Thanks for the comments and interest folks. Hi Folks, The time has come for me to part company with my wonderful 1x15, 100w combo of nigh on 17 years. My Dad bought it for me way back in the early 90's and it has been gigged in a very successful Country band and also a rock covers band (an extremely versatile Combo). Main reason for its purchase was a picture of an almost identical 70's precision to the one I have being in the Trace Elliot brochure, leaning up against this very combo.....nuff said. It has never been abused and I'd say it was in mint condition, but for a couple of Tea cup rings on the top of it (rock and roll!!!). It still has the orginal vinyl cover (black with green trim), and I really can't praise this thing enough - wonderful piece of kit. What I'm really looking for is a trade + a bit of cash (from me) for a head unit, and I do have some specific requirements. I need to have a a head that is flexible enough to cope with a nice warm country ballad, but allow me to Funk and Rock it up when I need it (may seem like a P***take, but the 715 has given me that for as long as I've had it). It ideally needs to be a near enough match for my cab (Hartke Pro 2x12, 300w into 4 ohms), so something along the lines of a Hartke HA3500 or Trace AH250/300/350, ideally GP12SMX, but whatever it is, it must be pre Gibbo. I'd be up for a GK 400RB/MB150E and obviously would love a Genz Shuttle 3.0. I also love the Mark Gooday/Trace Elliot/Ashdown link, and being a country player predominantly (think Michael Rhodes'esq in terms of sound requirements). Ashdown does appeal to me, but would be more interested in a little giant 350 than a MAG300. In terms of a straight sale, I know that these have gone for as much as £200, but I'm not daft, so offers around the £165 would prise it out of my hands (and there will be tears, so I apologise in advance), and before I get pounded with '£165 for that....you must be kidding' type responses, anyone who's played through one will know that it is worth it...and more. Thanks folks. BTW, I'm up in Northumberland
 10.
well i am looking for a combo, i might be interested, how old is it? what condition? how much you after? pics?
Not sure if it'd suit you mate, it's an old Trace Elliot 715 series 6 with the GP7 pre amp, with I think 100w (might be 130, will need to check). Had it for years, my Dad bought it for me back in the early nineties and it's been my baby ever since. I'll put some pics up tonight, and first refusal will be yours mate. I now you said you were looking for a larger footprint combo, this has got the 1x15 and it sounds fab.
 11. Wife has spoken mate , I now need to find a buyer for my Trace 715 Combo before I can bring anything else in the house. I'll bow out gracefully at this point, but thanks for the info and also best of luck with the sale.
 12.
dude it'd be fine, assuming your cab is 300w@8ohms, this is 400w@4 ohms; wouldn't put out so much at 8 and has speaker protection circuitry!
300 watts at 4 ohms my friend, not sure if it'd cope.
 13. I'd love to take that Hartke head off you mate but I fear it'd tear my new 300w cab a new ass!!!
 14.
We did 'Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree' at a Christmas gig once... does that mean I've played some country?? NNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol, no mate, but you're getting closer!!!
 15.
squier/fender its the working mans tool.Go for one of these.
+1
 16. I've played Country for as long as I remember, and I agree, there's some absolute tat out there (a lot of band wagon jumpers when CMT was huge). However, there are also some truly brilliant music/artists/players who made their names in this genre. I have to say, the bootslapping, chap wearing, spur toting, yeeharring crap that the media usually stereotype as being 'country and western' is really for the purist. For those who may need a bit of convincing that 'Country' has many sides must have a listen to some of the following Dwight Yoakam Brenda Lee (1 song inparticular, 'I'm taking my time') The Players (5 of the finest players in the world) Chet Atkins (has influenced more muso's than most) Hal Ketchum (seen live in Newcastle - brilliant, brilliant) Rodney Crowell (seen live in Newcastle - super brilliant) Suzy Boggus (seen live in Newcastle - acoustic set and one of the very best performances I've ever seen) Will Kimbrough (seen live in Newcastle - just him and his guitar, I bought all of his albums there and then - brilliant) Willie Nelson (some of his stuff is dubious, but some of then ballads he has done are mindblowing) The Crickets (Buddy Holly's backing band - the Album T-shirt is full of 3 chord bashers, but is simplistic genius) George Strait Steve Wariner (this guy is one of the most underated players out there) Janie Fricke Albert Lee (Seen live twice over the last few years and blew me away both times) Lari White (has an amazing voice and performs some very good songs) Elizabeth Cook Brad Paisley The Ranch (Keith Urbans band) Vince Gill Charlie Daniels Band Collin Raye The Hellecasters (John Jorgenson, Jerry Donahue & Will Ray - nuff said) The Notorious Cherry bombs (some of the finest session boys having a bit of a jam) It's a taste thing guys, but it's a bit unfair to to slate it if you can't think past line dancers and cowboys. Oh and 'Plus that stupid man at the back with his guitar on his lap sliding a can of beer up and down the strings sounding like a cat giving birth' Ever heard of Paul Franklin..............I need say no more!
 17. Probably the best quality speaker cable in the world ever. Actually.......lets make that definately. Awesome Dave, top class. Drew
 18. Top lad and top deal. I do feel guilty that I forgot to bring the biccies, and also that I unleashed my Father on you mate, but thems the breaks. Cab is great BTW, like I say....Growly, Growly. Many thanks again mate. Drew.
 19. Lol, many thanks Josh. The cab is the dogs mate - sounds fab through my Trace.
 20. Just found this one folks - still around cheap enough http://www.e-av.co.uk/info.php?id=10095 No idea what they're like, but only charging £10 for shipping in UK....can't be bad.
 21. I saw nothing negative my friend...you were merely passing some concern.
 22.
and a guy who rested the bottom of his hammond on two 1 gallon castrol GTX tins to raise it up.
A Proper Musician then
 23.
That tune doesn't sound right with one sax. Didn't think the bass tone was great either, a bit too clean and hi-fi for AWB.
I agree with the Sax thing mate, but we'll have to agree to disagree on the tone - YT might not do it justice, but I think it sounds fab.
 24. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcUupqtRcL8 Playing a Jazz V, through a GK 400RB head and Hartke 4 x 10 and 1 x 15 cabs - an awesome ad for all of this gear methinks.
 25. Must throw Hank Marvin into the mix. Most think of the Apache's, FBI's and some of the awful theme tunes he's covered, but the stuff he was playing in the 70's and 80's was brilliant and his Guitar Player album is excellent, much under rated/overlooked. Must mention Mark Knopfler too - one of the all time greats for me.
