When I first started playing music (Melodeon) I bought a metronome(mechanical in those days) to practice keeping a steady time (playing for dancing so fairly important). To start with I was, in all seriousness, totally convinced that the metronome was slowing down. I'd stop mid tune to wind it up (I know that that doesn't actually affect the speed), and more than once considered taking tack to the shop for a refund.

To be fair one could argue that a "Through neck" is a subset of "Set neck".

Not sure if it is being misused here. To me at least custom means something that is done specifically for one item/application etc. Nothing in the word 'custom' infers anything about the quality. In this case however it does appear to have been butchered in the process of customising.

Obvious potential problem is that you loose the ability to play without speeding up.

Generally big price drops means that they're trying to cl;ear stock before launching a new product. (assuming that the company is not in trouble)

Signed. Had thriving pub here in Daventry wich had live trad Jazz once a month, and occassional Rock bands. Landlord doing a great job. Building owner hiked the rent, landlord said stuff it. Pub was derelict fro many years and now being converted to flats (which may be what the owner wanted all along).

I can see nothing wrong with Moondance. Nice little tune, although I've never played it out anywhere. Whether it counts as Jazz or not? Who cares? I don't recall VM ever claiming it to be Jazz. Do people really hear a song and decide if they like it or not based on what genre they think it is. IMHO a good tune is a good tune wherever it comes from. As to people taking against it (particulary here it seems), it's a victim of it's own success and popularity, as per Mustang Sally, Johnny B Goode, etc etc.

I apart from saying "I wish they wouldn't' rather than "I can't stand" on point no 2 I actually agree on your two points, but I still love the music. Bix Beiderbecke Jelly Roll Morton etc. Good job we're n ot all the same. Vive la difference eh?
