1.
This is true, "Class D" is a "D" simply because "D" follows "C". But it doesn't change the fact that it uses quantization and PWM modulation so it is "kind of" digital. Just not not the same kind as your average digital calculator.
So where did "Class H" come from? And I agree with your other point. Class D is digital in that the output has two states, on or off. However there have been very long threads regarding this before, so best not open that particular can of worms again!
 2. I have found myself saying the same thing about my Vanderkley 112MNT, and yet it occurs to me that it is a funny thing to assert because how can anyone know this? (short of plugging the signal at various points (Including a very good and well positioned microphone) into an oscilloscope or some other bit of electronic wizardry). Also, if it's desirable to have no colouration in in the speaker why is it allowed to have colouration in the amplifier? At the end of the day it's the sum total of the instrument, amplifier and speaker that you hear, so you need to assess the whole lot with your ears and decide by what you like rather than anything else. (all IMHO of course)
 3. When in doubt do some research! Buying local for the sake of it isn't really a good plan.
 4. On my computer this post came up on the Forums entry screen under latest post. Just by luck, or was it prophetic, the title read "Why can't singers sing" It made I larf.
 5.
Back to a Class A/B power section. Mute and Headphone socket and remove the Jack output and replace with another Speakon. That would pretty much do it for me.
A serious question (well not serious, but one that I genuinely don't know the answer to); Assuming/given that everything else remained the same when the change was made, can you actually hear the difference between the A/B and the D power sections? To be quite honest I don't even know if my LM3 is A/B or D.
 6.
Both a mute facility and 1000W are available on other LM heads. The semi parametric mids haven't been but make the discontinued SA450 a much more flexible head than the LM2 or LM3.
Ah, but one of the things like about the LM3 is its simplicity in the tone controls. Fortunately for me the basic LM3 sound suits me fine, so I've no real desire or need for the parametric mids. I also have a Carvin BX700 which is great in many respects (will drive 2 Ohms) has the parametric mids and an equaliser (And a next to useless valve pre-amp), but it doesn't get used much because I end up spending too much time messing around with the controls to get a sound I like. As for the 1000 Watt, well yes, but it sort of puts it into a different class. Perhaps we need an LMx+ range. But I asked what 'you' would like to see so your suggestions are all perfectly valid, so I'm not really arguing against you.
 7. Could they be for old 'GPO' style plugs that IIRC have a much smaller tip than what is now standard. Pic below:
 8.
We used to do Back of my Hand by the Jags, great song to play and always well received
Saw the Jags then I was at uni. They opened with "back of my hand", and finished with it as well, and then for an encore did .........(you've guessed it)
 9.
Mute facility, semi-parametric high and low mids and the 1000W power section from the Ninja head.
Mute I'd agree with, but would probably want a footswitch for it (Otherwise why not use the volume Knob). The others are fine ideas in themselves, but to my mind it would cease to be an LM.
 10.
My ideal travel/practice/mixer-upper package would be a regular LMIII with aux in/headphone out.
Very good point, which I hadn't thought of.
 11. I was going to post this in the thread about "Which Markbass?", because that's what made me think about it (LM3 being a bit long in the tooth etc), but decided on a separate thread. So, as per the title, probably a hypothetical question, but what would people look for on an LM4 if such a thins were ever to appear? I'm currently using an LM3 as my regular amp. Personally I'd say drop the XLR input and give it two Speakon outputs. Possibly build in a compressor (Though I probably wouldn't use it myself), and definitely keep the VLE and VPE. - in fact tone wise change nothing*. OH, and make it universal power supply. * If anything at all give it blend-able valve pre-amp, but it would have to have far more effect than in their current valve pre-amp models.
 12.
Then you will need some kind of power conditioner, that always feed the correct voltage regardless of source...
AFIK a power conditioner can't increase a low voltage.
 13.

That sounds bloody awful!
 14. The compression thing is all to do with how the signal is processed to appeal to the market. This is totally independent of the reproduction method - except that the CD allows you to compress more and still be able to fit it it on a CD, whereas an LP cannot support that degree of compression. If you copy an original vinyl to CD through half decent gear then you won't know the difference on play back, it will all be there, complete with surface noise and scratches. The good news is that a half decent CD player costs a fraction of a half decent record deck, and the CD will still sound the same in 20 years time, whereas an LP won't (if you've played it at all). An LP might sound good, or even better, according to taste, but to claim it's amore accurate reproduction is just silly.
 15. Saw the Foo Fighters, Royal Blood and Iggy Pop on the same bill at the MK Bowl a couple of years ago. (in the Dave Grohl broken leg period). Foo fighters: boring. Royal Blood: get a band. Iggy Pop: stole the show for me.
 16. The audience won't care what strings you've got on (unless it's another bass player).
 17. Was watching some 'Family' at Glastonbury 71 on Youtube earlier tonight. To be fair I am a Die hard Family/Streetwalkers/RC fan, but what a contrast to the whole Glastonbury thing these days (not a go at Ed Sheeran, but loopers, really? Get a f***ing Band.) For those interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dG8zRb9P5M&list=RD-dG8zRb9P5M#t=0 Sound quality is not good (1971), but what a performance.
 18.
and Debbie Harry
The shields to keep Debbie Harry off? Now that I can understand.
 19.
It was me what done it. It was a critique of the ad, not the thread. The fact I posted on the thread is evidence I find it a useful discussion.
Just to point out that my comments weren't aimed at any individual, just a general comment.
 20. As I see it some one said 'the worst ad you've posted', and others took it to mean 'the worst thread you've started', i.e. an attack on Blue rather than the ad. I really don't know - I could be wrong (after all, there's a first time for everything). At the end of the day it's athread on the internet,. If you don't like it, or you would have done it differently, then you can always just ignore it. Keep it up Blue. I find your thoughts on stuff interesting, especially as it often highlights differences between the US (well Milwaulkee at least) and the UK 'scenes'.
 21.
No doubt amazing quality but just doesn't need to be that expensive.
Yep. Can't see him selling many, but then at that price he won't need to. Edited to add: But then again, I guess that if you're a pro £1600 for the right amp is probably justifiable, even if an amp at £600 gives you 90% of what you need.
 22. Has the Aurora been discontinued? Couldn't find any trace of it on the Vanderkley site.
 23. Depends on the amp in my (limited) experience. Marshall DBS7400, Marshall B150 combo - lots of effect when you blend the Valve pre-amp in. Not just marketing Carvin BX ??? - no noticeable change between valve and SS preamps. Seems to be marketing led. Might as well have just taped a valve inside the case so they could say it had one.
