1.
and considering his athletic antics he's not keeping bad time at all, if anything the guitarist is dragging
Considering his athletic antics he's brilliant. Sadly, f you took him away from the band there would be very little left of note (IMHO).
 2. 2 Shermann full range cabs (15" + 8" + Tweeter) , Audio Management 2 x 300W Amp, old Studiomaster Club 16-2 mixer, two unidentified foldback speakers. Sound is great in the sense that apart form the volume you'd hardly know it was there. Heard a few that sound better, but an awful lot more that sound worse. Mind you you often don't know if its the PA itself or the person driving it that determines the sound. All second hand by the way.
 3.
Well I think the lord of the land is a little up his own ass !
Didn't know that he had a donkey.
 4.
Please make them ban Mustang Sally I think any covers band that does that should be taken into the street and shot
Mustang Sally is a cracking song. Possibly a victim of it's own success, but any song that is still being played after 45 years must have something good about it. I wish I'd written it. I used to be able to say the above and then add that I'd never actually played it, but I did actually play it a few weeks ago, so can't say that any more.
 5. Well, the sound as the clip opens is pretty horrible to my ear, but most of the other sounds are very varied and sound fine (IMHO). Perhaps he should have started with a different sound.
 6. For extended/Jam versions of all All Right Now I tend to do the chorus only thing up to big guitar solo, after that its gloves off. There are a load of things can do during the chorus and the verse beyond the original. Smoke on the Water: Most punters think the bass line is the same as the main riff, where as we know that it only follows the main riff for a few bars towards the end, so even if you play the original punters will probably think you've got it wrong! I think what I'm trying to say is, as someone else has said already, "It's a jam: Jam it". Make them your own - take them where you want to go. As for Mustang Sally - It's very trendy to be a musical snob about it, but a song that's still being played regularly after 45 years cannot be all bad. All three are slightly clichéd, but that's because they are cracking good songs.
 7.
A 3-pole would do it, but the 6 pole is the 'preferred method', as it's neater and you haven't got components floating around at the end of long, uninsulated legs that could potentially short something. No reason electronically why you couldn't though.
Also using a 6 pole means that the unused capacitor is completely isolated, Using a three pole means that the unused capacitor is still connected at one end. Wires connected at one end only are often called aerials!
 8. "What the hell, bad eggs don't smell, (when they're glossed with sleek perfume)." - Hung up down / Family. And from the same stable "What is the point, You'll never win. They're up at your throats before you begin." - Good News Bad news
 9.
I think most people really know the best studios in their general area. Well...best or cheapest.
I don't.
 10.
I heard pronounced differences on most of them, and subtle differences on some of them. It's also confirmed for me that I'll never own a Stingray
Perhaps I should listen through some decent speakers rather than the built-in to the monitor ones on my PC!! - or get my ears syringed.
 11.
They mostly sounded very different to me. I closed my eyes and only looked at the ones I enjoyed the sound of.
Yes, but if you hadn't known that he was changing basses would you have sat up and said 'Oh, he's changed basses'. ?. I could hear differences (many of them not that strongly), but then I knew (and could see) that they changed.
 12. Well yes it is, but it did make me think: If you didn't know what it was, and only heard it, would it really jump out at you that the bass kept changing? I don't think it would to me. Count (Cloth Eared) Bassy
 13.
The sound this guy produces with it is wonderful.
I wonder what it would sound like without the effects though?
 14.
For £200 off, is there such a thing as a wrong colour?
+ 1. You can get a lot of spray cans of paint for £200 !
 15.
Do you remember the first time someone referred to you as 'the bassist' or similar?
Nope - still waiting. To be fair I don't even call myself a bassist. If some asks me if I play anything I tend to reply 'I play a bit of bass', which is probably about right.
 16. New nut on the truss rod would seem an awful lot cheaper. Should be able to get the old one off somehow or other, after all it doesn't matter if you damage it. When you say 'nut' its actually an allen head nut isn't it? Take the strings off, pull the neck back gently to take the load off the nut, and try again. You could try glueing (araldite) an allen key into the nut just to try and get it out. Apologies if this is teaching grandmother etc.

If you don't even give tab as an option, it may encourage people to read actual music. People who play woodwind or brass instrument don't get a handicap) but I do understand the issue of paying publishers. IF the transcription wasn't accurate - out by a quaver or something - where does that have you stand? [quote/] Other people have mentioned that this is commercial suicide and I'd tend to agree BUT I think this is a cracking suggestion for online content. With a magazine subscription you could get access to the extras online, including dots only transcriptions of the features in that months magazine (which would feature dots and tab to reach out to most people).
Give both dots and tab and let the reader decide what they use!! Giving dots only, or suggesting that they should, comes over as a bit "I can read dots so why can't you?". Why would you deny someone who likes tabs the resource, unless its to give you some sort of (misplaced) sense of superiority? Personally I have read music for trumpet in the past, but tend to use my ears for bass with occasional reference to tabs where my ears fail me. I would use dots as well for the occasional reference but they are not so easily obtained (which I'd agree is a shame).
 18.
I expect the Norwegian visitors would......!
I'm surprised the Norwegian visitors could 'affiord' it.
 19. Saw Bill Wyman with the Rhythm Kings last summer and thought he was brilliant (as were the whole band). Did exactly what the songs required with no waankery. Excellent stuff. Edited to add that if you put two 'a's in the word above it gets through the filter. As does Twat!
 20.
Conductive rubber is normally a separate layer to the insulation of the core and you should be able to strip it back to stop the core and screen shorting. It's used so the braiding on the screen wires doesn't have to be quite as tight and makes the cable slightly more flexible.
And gives 100% coverage.
 21. Played my first gig in ages on Friday night. The local land lady's 50th Birthday so we got a local band together to give a bit of light hearted support to the main band (4 out of 5 living in the village). Only a 7 song set, and featuring 4 of the female bar staff (including the birthday girl) on backing vocals and sexy moves for two of them! Nerves got the better of me at the start and I fluffed 'All Right Now' a bit, but settled in to it and a good night was had by all. No money but as much Purity Gold as I could drink (which was about 10 pint's by home time). No feeling a bit low cos I do't know when the next one will be.
 22. At least it wasn't a real Fender. Seriously though, you do hear of these things getting back to the owner (as with the guitarist you met) so don't give up hope.
 23. Hello there, Feel a bit embarrassed asking, but my lad's band (Stereotypical Blues Train) are entered into the 'Triumph Live 2012' battle of the bands, and have got through to the last 20, based on internet votes. The next stage is also based on internet votes, but could get them through to the top five. The top five then get to play live in front of judges and the winning band gets to support the Kaiser Chiefs! So if you would spare a minute to have a listen and, if you feel they deserve a shot at it, vote for them (FREE), I and they would be be very grateful. (unfortunately you need to register on the site to vote). You can hear a track, read a bit about them, and vote (FOR FREE) here: http://www.triumph-bandbattle.com/2012-bands/stereotypical-blues-train.htm and can visit their website at http://www.youtube.c...StereotypicalBT, or search for them on youtube to hear more. Many thanks for even thinking about it The Count.
 24.
Don't like the idea of auto-tune personally. Seems like cheating.
+1. Not wanting to upset anyone here who uses one, but if you can't sign in tune then either learn to, or find something else that you can do. Fortunately I can sign in tune. Unfortunately my tone is like a bag of nails going through a mangle.
 25.
- they do have killer whales out there but i guess the whales only come in that close if there is a tasty seal snack at the waters edge
That would be the photographer then!
