Sam Gopal... Unmistakeable Lemmy Vocals in a pre Hawkwind Psychedelic Blues Style... Nice in the sun... -
twas called the Sound Enhancer Stand... but was for open backed combos and channeling from the back down and under... might just stick with my Gator Frameworks Tilt Stand...
-
Vaguely recall some sort of empty box / cab that had something like a transmission line port... you sat your combo (cab) on top and it increased or excenuated the bass, made it sound louder my moving more air... got a tilt back stand but can"t help thinking a coupled empty sound box would be better. like having ya hi fi speakers on an old empty sideboard. Anyone any ideas... design wise... empty box? Was thinking about a Ply or MDF sleeve cover.... slot in the top for the handle... a sort of half case. Simply take the ply sleeve cover of the combo... place the combo on the ply sleeve cover! Or have the cover on its back and firing out the front! In my Gtr days i used a length of 2" x 2" tucked under the front edge of the combo to tilt it back a bit...

Bridge Saddle Adjust Allen Head Screws... Spalding Fastners of the bay... A2 stainless Hex Head Grub Screws Ibanez 4mm size rather than Fender 3mm me thinks... but check! go for Dog Point... couple of quid! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DOG-POINT-A2-STAINLESS-STEEL-METRIC-SOCKET-ALLEN-GRUB-SCREWS-M3-M4-M5-M6-/293221192240?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 I've had 3 lots from them to replace saddle screws on cheapy bridges, replacing the badly cut ends with a nice Dog Point, and used different lengths so ya dont get loads sticking out the saddle and in ya hand! Also did the Epi LP guitar saddles... Soak the saddles in plus gas or WD40 for a bit if old screws are stiff and rusty to stop em wrecking the threads in the saddles tacking em out...

Identical Fretted and Fretless J-Bass Necks?
PaulThePlug replied to PrintStringName's topic in Repairs and Technical
They say 'Our factory can make it according to your needs...' I'd find the one you like, then message em. Do you want Face Markers, on the fretted and Lines on the Fretless? or both plain with just side markers on both? In between on the fretless like a fretted, or 'at' the fret? worth a strong mention! And Howz about a reverse headstock on the lower? Too 'Modern'? -

Yeah, does look like it goes a little forward of the lower horn, would be nice profiled and angled more like the 4004. Should be OK as long as I don't stray above the 12th too often! Was meant to have plain white body binding to match the neck, but looks like it got the standard chequer... Hope what arrives is more Instrument than Ornament...

Couple of Body Shots... getting there...

Hi, great intro and insight in to the world of mini-bass!

Center of string... saddle contact. Space between stings?... Thats just weired and thinking to hard! Next you will be setting the width on the amount of propogation, as in how much each string moves!.. now there's a thought...

^Loved Nick's Saucers gig at the Roundhouse shownon Sky Arts, borrowing Guy Pratt... Sounds like it started out for Sh!t 'n Giggles and as one put it 'a nice lunch'... so much fun they couldnt leave it alone! Great set of tracks, and looked like they were enjoying it... a lot more low key than DG's events... -
Bingo! Embarassment... No - We've all been there with something (Motorcycle Ignition Kill Switch anyone?) in the rush to get things sorted, particularly if theses are new experiances... and the 'destructions' lacking! Positives... You joined Basschat and reached out to the collective mind of the Basschat Borg, worked thru it and got it sorted!... Joy... of getting it sorted, but i imagine the biggest joy will be hearing your daughter play! There is just one important thing missing from this thread, and the first rule of Basschat... post a pic of the bass!

All OK at the nut? New Strings? 'Witness Point' press of the strings over the bridge?

A thread suggests they are passive pups with an active pre... try each pick up on its own, wired direct to the out jack... make sure you get the correct pins... as some times a stereo jack socket is used as a switch for the batt... https://www.talkbass.com/threads/yamaha-rbx760a.1120089/?amp=1433947162

Kent Armstrong MM pickups -thoughts/alternatives?
PaulThePlug replied to TobyC's topic in Repairs and Technical
Got a Second Hand PJ Vintage set of Kent Armstrongs from a fellow Basschatter, so great value at that price... Other names are Wilkinson and Warman, but not sure if these are re-badged Chinese imports... Specs seem to compare with pups listed on the bay and Ali Express from what i can see... -
