I've got a sharpie on order... and a set of hole saws as i'm considering 'Swiss-Cheese-Lightening' (...and that term has been trademark / registered) the body, neck... between the frets without the the blocks that you don't really use...) and some little holes in the headstock... Gonna call it Leerdammer... NOT!

Just got these pre-delivery pics from Luthiers Warehouse... Jazz Body, with a twist!.. (or P Body with a Squash!..) Rear Route, PJ, Slanty Pickups... So a bit Reggie Hamilton, bit Aerodyne, bit Black Top, bit Jazz Special PJ535... Seed was planted when @Duarte posted a pic of a PJ535 in need of a fix in his Vintage P Makeover thread... so it's all his fault! Body to join the Maple 'n Blocks Neck... And Odds 'n Sods from the 'Dark Materials' thread... What do you recon? I was happy with my Rear Route P body so went for a bit more of a 'One-Off'... took a week or so longer than expected, but they are real helpful. So if ya just want a normal-ish body or have 'Special Needs' like me drop Luthiers Warehouse a line! https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/luthiers-warehouse

Luthiers Warehouse just sent me this pre delivery pic... Is something wrong with this P Body? 😉 Oh well... something to bolt that long sticky bit to, and maybe some of those metal bits...

^ likes a bit of Duane... one of my Mums Favs along with the Everly Bros, Buddy Holly and Fats Domino. 40 Miles of Bad Road etc. Duane always has a cracking bit of Sax Solo to go with his Twang.

Jazz Bass Strings : Rounds or Flats?
PaulThePlug replied to PaulThePlug's topic in Accessories and Misc
@Supernaut Got these Flats on a Ibby GSR200, the P Bitz and the Harley B Acoustic... Had em on the Ibby SR600 but that has just gone back to the Roto Solo Bass Presure Wounds, The J Bitz will get Rounds. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FLATWOUND-Bass-Guitar-Strings-Set-45-100-RRP-29-99-Fretless-Jazz-ADAGIO-PRO-/332636490116?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 Great flatwound, regular tension string for an offer price of £13 so gave the rounds a go. -

Jazz Bass Strings : Rounds or Flats?
PaulThePlug replied to PaulThePlug's topic in Accessories and Misc
Thanks again all... Adagio Flats on the P-Bitz... Gonna Start with Adagio Rounds on the J-Bitz when it happens. -
Yep... leaving a bit of room... Robbo sounded busy, The twin guitars of Phil n Wurzel flooded the sound a bit live... and Phil on his own was still full
-
I think that looks a nice neat subtle job... and better apperance to the bar in an earlier pic... Do they do a metaflake, or white underneath if you want something more sparkaly? Got a fuller pic rather than close up?

Or just 'D80ed... as in 'Dated'

Love the volute... As for annoyance... sometimes if just makes you think different and end up finding uniqueness. Have you considered a simple (looking, not making!) plug for the truss rod hole... interferance fit, with a side-on volute-esq shape protuding tip for finger and thumb removal? maybe out the same wood as the fretboard or neck, or fashioned out of dowel, might make things simpler?

Think it will notice a whole load less, If at all when the strings are over it, especialy as they are the thicker ones... A TRC to cover would be HUGE! I'd go with leaving as-is till strung...
