  1. A light fill with humbro enamal type paint... vast array of colours maybe applied with a pipette or dropper?
  2. Something quite 'animal' about it... fur or scale... quite warm...
  3. What a colour... and to think too often half of that is covered in bloody tort! 😉 Great the body had no PU route. 'lil plate looks realy elegant... Good Darts! Nice enjoying your journey with you. You Happy?
  4. Happieness Stan - Small Faces - Ogden's Nut Gone Flake... Great Album! Stanley Unwin..
  5. 7.5 / 5 / 1.3 https://www.allparts.uk.com/products/plastic-spring-washers-for-bass-keys-between-button-and-housing-8-pieces-white Out of Stock at CD Guitars... Got 2 spare if that helps?
  6. ^ 15 mins in and they're still tuning up! 😉 Nice 'n noodly... I'll check out Anthem Of The Sun. I'm a Hawkwind Trippy Space Jam Kinda Guy... and likes me a bit of Zappa Guitar...
  7. So a band that has passed me by... I'm aware they span the decades... What sort of stuff... Whare do i start... Reccomend me a compilation album or some such? Live Dead '69 are playing local and thinking of giving em a go...
  8. Obvously lifted the grain in the neck pocket a fair bit... Is that still wetish or after an hour so of drying? Should be a lot less on the sanded body. wire wool n vinegar? If ya like it go for it! certainly carries the grain and gives a unique vintage-esq look, and will go well with the mojo neck and worn ally plate. I wouldnt worry about those spots too much, i got a lot of darker spots when using danish oil particularly on any end grain. so you may well end up with patches where you are not expecting them.
  9. "Whats Brown and sounds like a Bell?..." DUNG! (Monty Python) As you were...
  10. Sounds like a plan... Have you got a multimeter to check continuity? If the grounding plates are in contact in the pickup cavity... and then grounded in the control cavity, earth to pot to body n bridge then the extra thru hole link may not be needed but should do no harm.. I used screening paint and used a cotton bud to paint the link hole and checked with a multimeter. Need more pics mind... Did the nut tidy up OK after the build up?
  11. Having previously (tried to) play guitar a long long time ago... a pick is second nature... Jim Dunlop Jazz III mainly. But like the sound and connection of fingers on flats... but can't match the sort of speed and regularity i can get with a pick. Also for fingers i like the tone more towards the end of the fret board and likes a thumb rest just after and before the pickup, rather than fingers over the pickup...
  12. Classic... Looks so cool. Just can't get that the scratchplate doesnt follow the contours of the lower body better... Are Ric plates traditionaly single ply? I'd have to get a spare plate BWB or WBW to tie in the binding would look so nice and have a go triming the edge on the right between the 3 screws if enough overlap with the cavity. Whats the Headstock n TRC look like?
  13. Nice.. What bridge is that?.. Subtle Lump of Form and Function...
  14. TC Electronics..? Drop em a nice email with a pic of ya rig in action, hopefully they will help out! https://www.talkbass.com/threads/tc-electronic-rh750-broken-knobs.1451926/?amp=1583722213 One of the white knobs on my oldish Marshall combo split, they were kind enough to send me a replacement
  15. Part of my introduction to music... Down the Dustpipe Golden Hour LP and then remember getting If You Can't Stand The Heat on Cassette, playing it on a little mono portable till the batteries went flat and the tape ram slow in the nack of my Mums Mk1 Escort... Holiday on the Isle of Wight. Down Down, Deeper and Down... Too Soon? Gonna have some Fort Five Hundred Times, and remember a great live version of Rain from some rock compo, Axe Attack or Metal for Muthers 80s thing! And as already mentioned always came across as such a genuine and gentle fella...
  16. If in doubt... back it goes. It wont get any better. And you didnt buy a make do. If it was purely cosmetic then a discount could be negotiated, but this usually only a couple of quid off. so i'd have a new one.
  17. There was a thread some time back about inexpensive flatwounds... A shout for the Adagio 45-100 Regular Tension Flats Offer around £13 on the Bay if anyone is considering giving flats a try... Got em on a couple of electrics and are lovely on the Acoustic Bass.
  18. Nice bit of Ibby... I have the SR600. Lovely Worn Pebble Body, Great Necks. GLWS
  19. Neck Relief... fret at 1st and where the neck joins the body... 16th - should be about a credit card-ish gap to the string at 7 and 9 fret wires... Nut Height... fret at 3rd... should be a slight 'tap' to the 1st fret wire... So your numbers look good...
