  1. Quick shout for @KiOgon... Helped with a wiring queary in going VBT... Both my GSR 200's are now sorted... and kept the PHAT II EQ as i likes it.
  2. Not strictly Reggae... Eldest (17) is off to see The Specials at the Roundhouse tonight... They are a fan of The Clash, BAD, Punkish Reggae stuff, I'm sure they will have a great time.
  3. Nice... Most PJ get the 3rd Pot in the Jack Hole... With the jack relegated to the edge. Didnt fancy the stacked pot option? But nice to seea variation of the cause...
  4. Nice... What are the 'Crop Circles' for... some little toggle switches?
  5. Nice... Nice touches with the Dark oil finish, High mass bridge with Brass saddles and Wood knobs... Gives it that 'evolved over time look'... Although i'm a 'Thumbs on Top' kinda guy...
  6. Vinyl Records Sound Better... NO Argument! Rega Planer 3, RB300, Audio Technica ATF5 MC with the Stilton Solid Body Mod v's Arcam Delta 170 Transport / Arcam Multi Bit Black Box... not the Bitstream bollox... All in the loft! But... Digtal is Simple and way way better value for money... now my listening is done via ripping CDs to a little Sony NWZ USB Stick Style MP3 player... Simple...
  7. Do It!... You may need to scale down the Fender-stock to get as much a P or J shape as you can.... Go Custom Logo for a unique look!
  8. I've seen a 51 P Tele headstock done out of HBs... Don't think there is enough wood for a Std P or J... Decals... @taddy does a sterling job... this is a custom one he did for my P Bitsa. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-Water-slide-guitar-decals-for-restoration-projects-please-choose-item-No-/124895054584?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0
  9. I'd start with checking the neck relief, action and intonation If the change of guage and/or string brand or material has resulted in more relief, then thats what may be pulling notes sharp up to the 12th... and intonation after.
  10. Another to add to the list... http://www.armstrongpickups.co.uk/prices/ Fingers crossed its a loose wire and not in need of a re-wind so to keep its authenticity and costs down.
  11. Nice Brown Burst... Clear Plate to use the screw holes?..
  12. Subtle... Real nice... Plate looks so right. Real nice almost brown burst... No yellow and only a hint of red. Looks more tobbacco burst... 👍
  13. When you work out the size metric / imperial try 'Dog Point or Cup Point Grub Screw' on ebay... A2 Stainless I got some to replace the rubbish in a cheap bridge... Dog Point are nice and flat for a bridge slot, or Cup Point if plain
  14. I had a Fender Katana Guitar... From memory there wre 2 models a Squier cheaper one with a std strat trem and single humbucker and a more expensive Fender model that i had withTwin Humbuckers, TBX Tone, Locking Trem, Impossible to play sittimg down... Odd thing with it, well two of the odd things... Fender, but fixed neck, and 24 3/4" scale length, so quite Gibson-esq... I feel quite sick seeing what they go for now, knowing what i sold it for 20ish years ago. Same goes for my old original Jap Squier '57 Strat in Salmon Pink with Mapel fretboard 30 odd years ago...
  15. Wonder if i get any more strange stuff delivered to the door this week?
  16. Bit bored today.... Headstock looked a bit plain, so i added some Squigly writing, then sprayed a load of lacquer on the fretboard and headstock, then some Mr Sheen... After lunch I brushed some Danish oil that i found in the shed all over the back of the neck then rubbed on some furniture wax stuff i found in the cupboard under the sink.
  17. Decal on and 4 coats of Laquer on the fretboard n headstock... Danish Oil and a Wax on the back of the neck...
  18. Church of Hawkwind Sofa Time... Headphones set to Stun!
  19. Bit light on luthier type tool, fret beams, crowning stones and the such like. See some one on youtube cutting the laquered 'crowns' from the frets with a scapel... For the sake of my fingers, and likely fretboard divots, the masking worked out well. The thin tape covered most of the fret but allowed a little laquer to seal between fret sides and fingerboard... Gonna try Danish Oil on the back n sides in an hour or so when the laquer is dry... Then will denib with a bit of 0000 wire wool all over tommorow.
  20. Spent some time masking along the frets with some thin tape, and applied a decal, ready for a couple of coats of spray laquer for the fretboard and headstock face tommorow...
