  1. Apparant Sound, Volume, Impact, Heft... etc a bit like Torque v Power... A lot to do with the circuit topology and damping factor of the amp to control the speakers along with the speakers sensitivity.. Some need a fair bit of power to make the sound, in that way power doesnt always equate to volume. Thoroughbred Watts! Hiwatt, Marshall etc....
  2. Can the Vol and Tone not be fitted in to a seperate box? on the floor Vol pedal with an extra tone pot added? or little box on the strap, like am EHX headphone amp? - save making holes till ya sure. Room to tape a cheap chinese P Pickup or similar under the strings? just for a try? Sounds like the EDA900 set up of Mag n Piezo.
  3. I love the natural finish and plain and simple looks... elegant and fuss free.
  4. Can we have a pic of the front? Back looks really nice, better than the 80's thru stripe. what make n model? looks a bit Ibby SR lower horn, but with a jazz-esque bump... Court?
  5. Yeah, well aware of it, was my Mum's fav back in the 70's... And one of the only chocolate that is safe in my house from the wife n kids... I'm glad its back. Home bargains did a copy... OK but not quite... 18 bars? some will power or "Mum... i feel sick!...." While we are here... Bejam's Pink Elephants... Strawberry Ice Cream in Plain Chocolate Choc Ice, not some choc flavoured coating...
  6. John will sort you out a new jack socket and quality pots for volume and tone with values to suit the type of tone you are after, push/pull pot to single coil tap, the pickup if you want, or other rotary switching for tonal options etc... All wired up and ready to fit to your plate, just connect ya pickup wires... Many happy customers and users of KiOgon wiring kits on Basschat. Drop him a line for MM type options... Reasonable prices...
  7. I think mittens were invented in Basildonshire... makes perfect sense now...
  8. how about a loom with pick up switching, vol, tone pots and new jack job from @KiOgon ?
  9. Safety in numbers!... Nice Natural Strat...
  10. That Salmon Pink is luverly... Had one of the '80s Squier '57 Strats in Salmon Pink with Mapel...
  11. Any idea what make the odd looking six strings on the left are? pressumably the vol and tone mounted at 90° as some sort of 'roller' control?
  12. Welcome, Nice brown burst on the P... Need some picks of the Ibby as well - there is an Ibanez Owners Thread.. There was a Trace Elliot Stack on here... looked like something out of Stonehenge... and prolly loud enough to reach back in time!
  13. It takes me longer to have a wee, get my shoes on, jacket, find my phone 'n keys before leaving the house!
  14. ^Shame its got the holes... @Bobo_08 on here recently got a mirror plate for their Harley Benton Satin now Lynott-a-like... looked nice. Just need the studded strap n ya sorted! Simple but Statement!
  15. Is Andertons local? Drop it back (or have it collected) and blag a free gig bag to protect the new one... or a little something for your inconveniance... set of Fender Flats - keep it in the family... I wouldn't be doing the drilling if new...
  16. I'd go no scratchplate, just the control plate... less n simple. But, It's your build. Maybe a funky sticker if ya so inclined?
  17. Black Keys - El Cameno - Little Black Submarines

  19. What happened Harv? Some Trip... and not to the Dentist!
  20. There is a post on the Ibby Owners Thread of a pre going duff on an old SR600... They ended swapping the pickups and going passive. Hope Ibanez get ya sorted... i think the pre n pots etc comes as a 'part' The SR300 Humbuckers can be run passive maybe without the power tap bit, and different wiring for the coil tap... would be an option.
  21. Not strictly Reggae.. but have just found my Dub Side of the Moon CD... Mrs was tidying up the TV cabinet of a lot of the kids old DVDs... Will have to get my eldest (16) to give it an air, after they 'discovered' Dark Side a year or so ago...
  22. So.. this post has just awoken my 1980's when being 12, and having If Ya Can't Stand The Heat, and 12 Gold Bars on cassette, and a cheap mono cassette player on my lap when out in the car... Just bought 12 Gold Bars on CD via Music Magpie / eBay... £3... some great tunes on there... later stuff not so much.
  23. Nice... although the latest pics look a little washed out in colour compared to earlier December body n fretboard pics. Can we have another?
