  1. @SpondonBassed.. Posted Yesters... Warning: Contains Drug 'n Pink Floyd references... Now where have i put my Red Rips?...
  2. The pup tape over windings does look quite exposed on that one... I likes a thumb rest up top, stuck one on the GSR... (now changed from plastic to a wooden one from the bay) as its a reverse p and further back, otherwise i'm thumb on the end of the fretboard. Lots of people dont like the look and / or use of a thumb rest... and fitting one, (and where, above or below?) may not be in keeping with the models original appearance, like tug bars under on an early P. look for 'Zero Mod' they might give ideas....
  3. From the Thin Lizzy post above. Phil Lynott: THE ROCKER has just popped through the door via eBay... will give that a bit of a read laters... and about time Live And Dangerous '77 gets a repeat on Sky Arts...
  4. Joe's Garage... Thing Fish... Strange concept albums. Or Check out my fav tracks 'The Torture Never Stops' and 'Bamboozled By Love'
  5. After reading a recent 'Betsy' thread... Guy Pratt - My Bass and Other Animals - Book An interesting read, Happy to pass on to a fellow Basschatter... Here's the Deal... I'll post at my expense... You put a couple of quids worth of Dog food in the local supermarket 'rescue' bin or food bank?.. Then maybe repeat when ya finished with it... main winner is the woofa's! Anyone want to play?
  6. Red Silk, but seem short at 3/4" or 18mm from Ball End...
  7. @skidder652003 Thanks for the vid n tune... Trippy! Barny Bubbles... Liquid Len and the Lensmen... Porcupine Tree - I have a CD or two, but my fav is a 2 CD Sampler of all that sort of stuff called Pick 'n Mix...
  8. Adagio Flats turned up today... Just put em on my Ibby GSR200, Thought best to try em on that with the reverse P n J pickups. Wow... Never tried flats before... so slick, so smooth, so warm n softer sounding, and thats just a quick noodle unplugged. Will give em a go with a headphone amp later. @ £13 May have to get another set for the SR600... (I did and are now fitted...) Like Black 'n White TV for the ears!
  9. Went for £107... i was outbid and run out of time... Usual 'Final Flourish' and possible bidding software? who knows... Was it anyone on here? Oh Well... And my Cheap Flat Adagio's turned up today... I'll keep looking for a Cheap P a-like... Regretting letting the Crafter Cruiser go to my eldest's mate now. Should just use the GSR200 as PJ rather than GASing
  10. I'd take the neck off while wearing rubber gloves and put both halves in the dishwasher...
  11. A wipe with a duster and Mr Sheen before the pic wouldnt of gone a miss...
  12. Seeking the wise of the Fender Squier division of the Basschat collective... Listed on the 'Bay... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Squier-Precision-Bass/193929915702?hash=item2d271fad36:g:rC0AAOSw691gPjEc&redirect=mobile Is this real and what it seems? Neckplate, Coloured Headstock, Logo, Colour etc. Not sure to have a bid? Not round the corner, but 50 miles, an hour ish, and have looked at it a few times... Would idealy like a P rather than PJ... but looked again! or best left alone? Ta Muchly
  13. Thread Resurection... Just ordered a set of the Adagio Flats... £13 is the Magic Number for an offer. Not sure whether to try 'em on the PJ GSR200 instead of the rounds... or on the SR600 instead of the Roto Solo Compressions? Cheap way of trying something new...
  14. The 'Natural' is an SR600... The Gio's necks are one piece, as opposed to laminate along the length... but with a scarf jointed headstock... (my GSR20 joins at about the 2nd fret)... rather than wasting a lot of wood... (environmental?) and obviously keeping costs down.
  15. Would love this but way to far away... 450 miles! Would you consider posting 'Neck-Off'? Great price considering import tax nonsense on a new one... GLWS... Won't be around long if someones local.
  16. The Wizard Blew His Horn - Hawkwind (...and stop sniggering at the back...)
  17. What year is your SR600? 2 or 3 position Mid Switch? Worth checking the Ibby site spares listing for part number. Some available... https://www.meinlshop.de/en/ibanez/spare-parts/e-basses/equalizer/ibanez-3-band-eq-mk-1-3-bartolini-for-sr-series-3eq1cmk1 Mines July 2010, 2 position...
  18. Mr. Men - Theme Tune... (who's now humming it?..)
  19. @neilmurraybass ' assume, perhaps wrongly, that the bassists who are interested in my playing are more likely to look at the tab, with help from the notation, particularly for the rhythms' Bassists who are interested in your playing 'prolly come in various guise and at various levels... The majority i expect are fans of your work, and someone like me, starting out and familiar with the songs after listening to em all these years are simply thankful for you 'time and tab' so we can look to enjoy the songs by starting to get a bit of it right then participating at a greater level... Thanks for the caterpillars!
  20. I've eyed the Ibanez Talman control plate, would look great on a rear route P... bit 'Strat Jack'... bit Tele 51 P... Single hole for concentric Vol and Tone... Plain 'n Simples...
  21. Idealy you'd pick a Lefty-South-Paw... Macca?... bit of a 'Goal Hanger' and always on about how good Liverpool was! Lemmy could help out with any half time refreshments needs to pep up the team for the second half...
  22. Can i through the Cort / Ibanez medium of Luthite in to the conversation... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luthite https://ibanez.fandom.com/wiki/Luthite along with the thinking behind its use as a wood replacement.
