  1. Don't wind the strings round the peg by hand... That induces a twist along the length.
  2. Custom Shop Kerching... https://www.guitarworld.com/amp/news/fender-unveils-stunning-2021-custom-shop-prestige-collection-featuring-guitars-with-no-boundaries Couple of Ps in their, but generaly what were they thinking, why would you? and people with a lot of time on their hands....
  3. @RussFM might be able to answer ya Q's... and help ya out with a B3...
  4. Is the MM pickup smaller in hight than a J pickup? Can't a J pickup hole be open up? 293906211413 'Bay...
  5. Check of you have both Moving Magnet (MM) and Moving Coil (MC) settings... MC is usually a Higher Quality, but a lot less output. If you have MM plugged in but set to MC (A Slide or In/Out switch)...may explain the low vol output.. Phono is gonna be a a fair bit lower than CD, or Tape for that matter. line is uaualy for something like Video or Radio IN in old money...
  6. Sure some one with a P can do some ruler layup pics from the 12th... to give you a better idea. Couple of pics of my Ibby GSR200 with BBOT style bridge... may help Nut to 12th... 12th to Bridge...
  7. ? Closest adjustment position? Maybe 1/4 v 3/4 or 1/3 v 2/3... Cosmetic apperance may come in to it a little. Fore and Aft. between pickup and end of body, aligning with a control knob etc. Earth wire hole may help in comparing pics n plans of the web with bodys with bridge pilot holes
  8. Perhaps a threaded insert kinda thing needed?
  9. Take some pics and contact the seller (or manufacturer web site) just in case they are not as should be... Sounds strange they are not uniform the whole length? although some stings only have the core going over the bridge, with the main wind starting after - forget the technical name for it... If Duff... maybe a return and swap for the Rotosound? Bass strings aint cheap....
  10. Possible the first switch is in a bushed hole, that the top dress washer just covers? Nice 'shape' type markings to the neck, a change from the usuall CF weave.
  11. Pics? Does the pickguard help reduce the appearance and cover some of the gap? Edit: Looking back... It's Rear Routed.... 'Thin Strip of Vaneer' or 'Smear of Silicon Sealant' size gap?
  12. Some time back @Old Man Riva was kind enough to send me some Rotosound Pressurewounds that were surplus to his requirement... https://www.rotosound.com/product/rs55ld/ Lighter tension than the Standard Rotobass 45... https://www.rotosound.com/product/rb45/ If ya a Rotosound guy... maybe the strings you are looking for?
  13. Normal ala Ibanez etc. is 45-105 Roundwounds... If ya an Earnie Ball guy and Extra Slinky (8-38)... you may wish to stay Extra Slinky (40-95) or A Rotosound Guy?... check their sites Nickel or Stainless - and what and why may be the place to start... I was 9-42 mainly due to a locking trem, but with a wound 16 3rd for more substance and feel, i felt 16 was too thick for a plain bit if wire... 14 maybe. Whatever ya get will prolly be strung with 45-105 so try them first... Mark 'Slap' King style lighter 30-90... 40-100 std 45-105 or Steve 'Gallop' Harris Heavier 50-110 (and flats)... What ya gonna do with it? slap n snap n tap, or finger and pluck 😉 Bend or Bimble along? Then later on ask about flats... which are often 45-100... and tension...
  14. Was at the first ECT thing, Rock version of the Tube / TOTP but at least it was Live Music... Motorhead, in the small crowd and appear briefly... blink and you miss it
  15. ...that worn pebble body shape and super skinny neck of the SR... 😉 The cheaper 'Gio' GSR series is different...
  16. If ya going to get it from Andertons... Give em a ring, see if you can order both... Have a day or two to get to know em... then return the one ya dont want? Hopefully with a free return...
  17. Rosewood-esq wood fretboards tend to be plain... Maple-esq wood fretboards tend to be laquered or varnished.... Could the difference be more the laquer finish? Anyone tried a laquered rosewood board, v's a plain maple board?
  18. A Classic.... and then came the Over Kill cover...
  19. A lot of the Soap Bars are Reverse P inside... Like the Mk1 Barts used on Ibanez and a lot of others..
  20. Not purchased just on the look of the cover, But Hawkwind have had some fine Gatefold n Foldouts... Warriors 'Shield' , In Search of Space... Oh and Zep III Wheel...
