I was originaly thinking Flats, same Adagio's i have on the SR600. But after doing some reading it seems Flats on Acoustics are a little too 'flat n quiet' and Tapewounds or similar seemed the ideal way to go... hence the Nexus. The one i have an eye on is bowl back... and rather special i think... It would be a treat to me... I will have to see... It would just be for noodling at home

It is possible that in the first instance a guage may of been used from the top, instead of measuring from the bottom, and a guage that didnt correspond with the neck radius... 9.5 rather than 12?. And i think you are correct, a little more room for the lower thicker strings to vibrate... Ya action sounds low... nice. Cant get that low on my Ibbys.

PaulThePlug replied to Robert Manning's topic in Accessories and Misc
Give these a ring of drop em a line... see if you can sweet talk en to sending to the UK... screws also listed https://www.meinlshop.de/en/ibanez/spare-parts/e-basses/truss-rod-covers/ibanez-alumium-truss-rod-cover-with-prestige-logo-for-selected-sr-bass-models-4pt00c0003 Or Bloke on here @bigmuff69 making finger / thumb rests in nice woods... Might be able to make you something to match-ish the body? based on original shape and your screw hole dimensions... I think the one i originaly linked is wrong as it has off set top mounting hole.. -

Would this do ya for a tenner.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/144056532809?epid=15008533823&hash=item218a703f49:g:~eAAAOSwyX5gskmP non logo-ed version similar to those used on later SRs... maybe not prem or prest Check the Ibanez site for the part number 4PT1PC0017 i think... the support spares page bassed on ya serial number... and you can also download old catalogues from previous years... check the images etc. https://cs.hoshinogakki.co.jp/pcw.nsf/item.xsp?documentId=AC79FA6880F169E64925804F002EA5F9&strItemKey=4PT1PC0017__1P_01&curSuffix=1P01&curFromYMTX=&curToYMTX=&strMode=newpage also looks like later models adjust from the body end, so no headstock cover... -

I'm Sorry... I know i say it every time the Which Scratchplate Q comes up! I just like plain, simple, subtle and wood on a bass so why cover a big part of it with plastic, especialy if you dont need to like on a Jazz... unfortunatly most P's have pickup routing under the guard. Having a clear plate also keeps the classic lines of the Jazz connecting with the Bell plate, No plate looks a little like something is missing (but is better than tort!), and A P looks better 'Rear Rout' n urry up wiv the near-naked pic...
-
Nice Read.. Nice n subtle Brown Burst, without the brighter golden yellows... What does the wood look like under the guard? Can we have a pick while ya swapping? Have you considered no guard or a clear guard to keep the classic lines and 'shape' and use the screw holes and get 30% extra wood? Otherwise it would be Black Guard for me.
