Passive... I have removed the gubbins from 2x Ibby SR300s, a P Tonerider and a Stacked Maida Vale J, an Ibby 400 to Dìmarzio Split Coil J, an SR500 to Passive Reverse P Mk1 Barts, and a Epi T Bird Pro to a single Dimarzio Mudbucker... Often simple pickup switch, vol and out... tone elsewhere. Dynamics... how many tone stacks do you need? Get it all in, wobble it about, Wah n Phaser, shove it out, bit of fuzz-o-drive... jobs a good un... DI or Whatever ya got!.. Not quite the 'Straight to amp' thread, but not far from it. Make-a-Move... and enjoy playing.

Little grub screw holding the knob(s) to the shaft(s)? Slacken the screw of the top knob and lift a little, then tighten the screw... looks like its just resting to tightly on the lower half...

PJ set of the Entwustle PBX/JBX went in my Arai PJ J And a little cocktail-stick-trick to ease fitting...

Just checked back on the Tonerider site... P pups are now £49 + p&p, up from £35. Makes the KA PBV (£58 + p&p) even more of a bargain at £35!

Settings for GTR and Bass... 5 position 4 + Bypass - board is 22 x 20. Hooks thru the 24 Dia fine... 22 if ya dress the sides of the board, but that won't allow for much of a body top thickness.
