Attack of the 40' Woman - The Tubes
-
Fretboard is listed as Oiled Poplar Laminate, and was rough and dry. Quick and Light 1200 and 1500 sanding, clean with so isopropyl, and a wipe with a bit of Danish Oil left over night to seal. Had a go at the nut slots with some sandpaper to take the Roto Tru Bass strings at a hefty 65, 75, 100, 115. And a 1/4 turn or the truss rod. Son is getting into the into Dave Gilmore's playing on Pink Floyd's Hey You from the Wall Happy.

Are the Kettle End in the Y long enough?

First, for anything active, try a new battery... Then if pos the pickups passive, or wired straight to the jack, to confirm a pre-problem or not. Mk1 Barts don't get a lot of love, but, i think a lot of people compare them to Humbuckers, when they are a Reverse P in a Soap Bar. Take some pics of the pre - or model number.. might help.

There are some 3D printed plastic ends that you put your own wood in so -a bit adjustable for length - on the bay

NDBD: Squier Affinity Jaguar H (first D is for damaged, not double)
PaulThePlug replied to neepheid's topic in Bass Guitars
@neepheid Any News?.. -
Have a look in the Classifieds and see what pick ups are listed... I found a DiMarzio Model One and this happened. Thunderbird ya say, i've got the Original Pickups and Pre that came out if ya interested 😉

Some of the thick part of the E string going around the peg...

Stringing my T'bird with Olympia Flats i came across a bit of an issue... The Blurb for the strings clearly states: Ensure your headstock winding peg is further than 38" away from where the ball end sits in the bridge. My T'Bird Pro has a more modern bridge than the old 3 Point Classic. I think shorter, with less of a gap between Ball End Stop and Saddle. Maybe as much as half an inch? Typical! My Epic Epi is measuring up at 37 1/2"... with the Thick part of the string nearly halfway round the peg Skinny Fishtail Peg, might of only been less than a Quarter with a thicker Elephant Ear Peg... Anyone Experience anything similar?

Not as yet... it's on the list. Been sorting my Thunderbird, going to re-visit my Ricken-Thing, also got a Crybaby Wah to look at... Realy doesn't like running with a Fuzz... But would be nice to get working... mate has a Sig Gen and Scope, so gonna pay him a visit. Quite like the 'Washing Machine' look... What of the Aural Enchancer?

No! But i have the Pickups and 2 Band Pre out my Epi Pro IV if ya interested? (Got to take some pics and list em in FS)

Remember, they will have to pay return shipping if you don't want it, then knock some more money off and pay to ship it out to another buyer... I'd be explaining this, and offer to ease their burden and start at £75... would you by it in the shop for £75 - £ or £50 of list or have a new one? Just 'cos it's landed don't feel obliged - need them to offer a decent discount for you to by the damaged one over a new one. -

Motötheadache at the Tonbridge Wells Forum with my youngest Son (16) for a bit of nostalgia... Frequent visits to Hammersmith Odeon in the 80's and 90's for Motörhead and Hawkwind.

More Go-ey over a vintage?.. Alan Entwistle PBXN https://entwistlepickups.com/alan-entwistle-bass-guitar-pickups/ The same as our standard PBX P-Bass pickup but with more power and punch at the same DCR due to the Neodymium magnet.

Project: Passive-Aggressive (Thunderbird Content)

The Olympia Flats E... thick part makes it on the peg... 'prolly due to the short Saddle to Stop compared to a 3 Point?.. And the Silks line up, Oh the simple things... Bass Cosh! From this angle the Headstock looks as big as the body!.. 'scuse the thumb print... -
After seeing your post, got inspired... Epi T'Bird Pro IV with the guts ripped out, a DiMazio One screwed in up-front and wearing Flats... I like the way the Maple and Walnut of the thru neck run thru the Bridge Cavity between the mahogany wings. I gave the bare wood edges a little Danish Oil to blend it in. From the front and 10' away don't notice... but i know its special needs... Putting the Thunder Back in Thunderbird
