G String Sounds Choked with Little Sustain?
PaulThePlug replied to Linus27's topic in Repairs and Technical
Overtones, Chorusing? Maybe pickup Height, High Mag Field stifeling the G string... other strings with higher mass are less susceptible. Try dropping the pickup way-down on the G side? - count the turns so you can put it back... -
G String Sounds Choked with Little Sustain?
PaulThePlug replied to Linus27's topic in Repairs and Technical
Deadspots n stuff... not a lot to do Other stuff that may be more pronounced at a given freq? Check all Neck/Body Screws (Slacken and Tighten with a bit of string tension is OK, may help to Seat the neck to the back of the pocket) Bridge Mounting Screws, Tuner Mounting Screws and Tuner Peg Screws and String Retainers.. Just a nice Nip-Up Twisted String, Witness Points at Bridge and Nut? Maybe try a Rizla paper in the nut slot and/or Bridge Saddle? -

Heart tuners are kinda cute... nice on a Shell Pink P or J Rest is Bobbinz... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/196096730486?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=CkguqlEPQQ6&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=daj_hJ6fSo-&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

What's Going On Here - Squier Mustang Pickup.
PaulThePlug replied to Rumple's topic in General Discussion
Dunno what they should look like, but looks like they fit, or have been modded to fit ala Strat - Secured on the underside of the pick guard, with 2 screws thru for hight adjust, rather than screwed to the body ala P or J. Maybe the silicone and plate was to try and hold the windings in the covers, rather than foam under Must admit i was surprised when i realised that P pups were not fitted like a Strat, as that is what i came across first. -
Mornin... Do you want to turn that down a touch... 'tis early... 😉

Expensive, albeit a very nice Parts-Bin Special. The Options and Build Guide makes interesting reading. I'm sure @Andyjr1515 could custom veneer a J body... I likes Quilted... then Fender Hi Mass Bridge, Bell Plate, Tone Riders or Kent Armstrongs - I'd go PJ 😉

Frog Chorus Reprise...

Nice... The Hipshot bridge looks so sleek The Rickenfaker site may also have some ideas on aftermarket parts. Maybe Gig Ink for a scratchplate.

Presume you mean MN rather than No Load? My experiance with Bourns pots is the larger Dia on the threaded shaft, had to enlarge the hole on my SR600 I've used these in anything with 2 pickups... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/314752125906?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=bflzq06tszk&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=daj_hJ6fSo-&var=613264511655&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY 250k for Single Coil PJs and 500k for the Twin Coil DiMarzio Jazz and Maida Vale Stacked Jazz...

Completely Unnecessary... But Still Glorious.
PaulThePlug replied to binky_bass's topic in Amps and Cabs
Can you remove 4x valves for halfish the wattage, and use more of the Character of running the other 4 hotter? -
Maybe a Ric... Something different, maybe a Cheyenne or Laredo?

Can't see the Pic mate? 😉 Jane i think... Similar story with replacement White Knobs for my MB Series Combo... A* -
Aha! @mrbacco before you make the hole for the Jack 'Boat' in the front... have a think about having it fitted to the control cavity plate at the rear... plug could Angle Out and Downwards 45Deg-ish or out to the but or strap pin.. and not get in the way... sleek as sleek thing! 😉

Fender bass bodies / Peculiar neck pocket routing?
PaulThePlug replied to spacecowboy's topic in General Discussion
Could it be so Flat heel 51 necks and Rounded Heel later necks both fit the same pocket rout... With the scratchplate covering either the middle or the L&R edges? -
