Pole length on pickup and it's effect
PaulThePlug replied to sirmuppet's topic in Repairs and Technical
^ For Info... I don't think the pole piece 'screws' on Entwistle P and J pickups are actually adjustable... wouldn't recommend trying in case you damage the windings. -

Tried the BDI Mid Mod? A 10k resistor simply soldered to the back of the board... Top C19 to Bottom R16. Make sure the resistor leads don't touch other components.

^ I was concerned about 'tear out' on the front face, which might be why Ibanez use a facing... also the headstock thickness minimum depth for the tuners... if you remove one and screw the top nut into the tuner body, even with the washer... you'll see what i mean. I electrical tape-ed up by the nut, as the facing of the angled headstock goes under the fretboard and nut, so must of been applied first. Worth it for mine... but worth checking... Dunno why Ibby hide this? Yours Bubinga and Jatoba?

Toothpaste is a mild abrasive... With T cut etc you will see swirls... Let's have a pic of what you want to remove. Stickers or glue, always warm up with a hairdryer to re-soften glue. Then Isoprop or Lighter Fluid for the residue, check elsewhere first, don't use acetone...

It's mine and exactly what i wanted... realised with the kind assistance of our @Andyjr1515

Marshall have just reissued a few pedals, Blues, G'uvner, Metal etc. at £170 https://marshall.com/amps/products/pedals but, NO BASS VERSION! not even a 'SUPER' with a Lead/Bass switch to sort the EQ... Missed a Trick... would be too expensive for me anyway... hence my Harley Benton badged Joyo British @ £20 Now if a Marshall Analogue Pre with Cab Sim Switch, XLR DI and Headphone Socket, Built in Tuner and Single Knob Compressor... All the sound 'doings' to feed a mixer... See enough similar such as Donner Alpha Bass and the like... for £200?.. Black box, White Marshall logo, Gold Control Face, Marshall Knobs. The new FX pedals don't even have Gold Panels, and the Marshall Knobs... Holy Brand Recognition failure! Plus single stock item(s).

Any excuse to post pics of my AliExpress Chickenbacker... Custom 4001/4004 Commission Landed @ £200ish iirc. Biggest Issue.. Neck Angle. But due to the neck angle, height at the bridge is high... Archtop or Les Paul like at 18mm. I like the look of the Rick-o-like bridge, i had the A and D saddles shimmed with a 1mm or so washer, to follow the fretboard. But the Rick-o-like Bridge overhanged the body due to 34" scale length, With a new bridge... Super Elevation at the saddles. I might line up the Rick-o-Like bridge with the saddles turned round, see if it looks like it will intonate?
