Stereo Jack fitted wired Ring 'n Sleeve instead of Tip 'n Sleeve?.. -
Too hot to be bloody hand sanding the J body after the botched dip attempt... A lot of the clag has come of withvwhite spirit... but i had let it dry as didnt have any till next day. The Wilco and Rustoleum white enamal primer is like glass and 80 grit is just clogging... And its bloody hot... So tommorow gonna get some 40 grit to rip of the primer, and try to get all the white out the grain with my old Woolworths Orbital Sander... Then 2/3 Danish Oil, 1/3 White Spirit to thin and then just a couple of light coats to seal And it's bloody hot!

^As mentioned in other posts... if ya haven't purchased a 'That Will Do' or a 'Factory Second' and at a bargain price... back they should go... otherwise it will only 'Nag' And more is the point, the manufacturer will never know... Now if an offer of an option is to keep it following re-numeration, that only you can decide. Possibly a slacken of the mounting screws and a wiggle may surfice - but again the choice es yours... and possibly action to be done by the shop in your presence...

Neck dots... what is 'out' dots on the fretboard or string/bridge alignment? The Thru the Dot A string looks to change along the fretboard It looks like the misaligned one, the outside of the strings have the same gap to the fretboard edge... On the aligned one less gap on the B, looks like center of string to the fretboard edge is the 'measure' String spacing, particularly at nut? Is it string center or between string edges? Whats your take?

RAGS WARNING... Just a quick note, Rags from using with some oils, like danish oil can Spontaniously Combust!... So a little caution... wet the rags, and allow to dry flat, outside before disposal, dont screw them up oily and put in the bin... especially indoors! -

Unless you are getting the body n neck from the same supplier... maybe a bit of sanding 'n finishing... -
Dip Disaster! Had another go yesters now the weather has warmed up... Dustbin full of water... Paint, Swirl, Dunk! Started off OK... then the paint kinda thinned out... Think there was not enough surface area and therefore paint area on the top of the water in the dustbin to cover the whole body as it got dunnked... Cost of getting a bigger vessel, more paint and trying again, i think i'm gonna sand off to bare wood and go Danish like the P, or go Beeswax... and back to the black pup covers... Oh well was a good idea, but best left to the experts... another one of those things that those that know their onions make look so easy...

Where might you be getting the body from? Have a search on 'Luthiers Warehouse' on here... mine both needed a little sanding work. I did a Custom P body a while back... Used No Nonsense Danish Oil from Screw Fix... Wipe On or Slurry Method with wet n Dry... so no spraying... Mind the rags though! I also got a Custom J body from the same place... but the Hydro Dip didn't go to plan yesterday!.. so it might get a sanding and a Danish Oiling... thinking about just goin with Wilko or Waitrose Beeswax... -

All the P's 'n J's i think are the same and don't think there is enough 'meat' for anything but a '50s Tele... might 'just' get a scaled down small P or J Think this is the template most use... Page 6 Mike Dirnt... Have a print and a look on scaling the others...bass heads.pdf -
I often suffer with a paronychia finger nail, after that kind of 'hang nail' bit of skin... Dab of TCP, Detol or Isoprop to make sure its clean, then O'keefees Working Hand Cream... quite pricy, but good stuff and you only need a small dab.
