Once you realise you can just strum all strings together and quickly tweak the tuners u can get every string in tune in a few seconds, great for tuning in between songs during a gig rather than having to do each string separately. Its a good piece of kit.

Current project: Small Clone Chorus + mods Excellent pcb bought for this project from Tonepad.com, really great quality and makes soldering up this crowded little circuit a lot easier. this is a complex build, just waiting for the delay chip to arrive from ebay (Hong Kong). Mods to the standard pedal will include: 1) Depth switch replaced by 100k pot 2) Delay cap to be replaced by 4W3P rotary switch to switch in 4 different capacitance values 3) LED indicator fed off clock chip to pulse in time with rate pot setting.

thats a bummer - why not contact manufacturer anyway for some advice, they may be able to assist
-
could be a case of replacing an IC chip or transistor, needs some careful resoldering but do-able, worth a try as they are not a cheap little pedal.

I thought it was a shielding issue for speaker cables. Maybe that's when you try to use speaker cables for guitar leads....

radius sanding blocks can be bought from StewMac, as can practically any item/accessory/tool for guitars, but they are expensive plus you have the shipping cost from USA. If you are handy in the workshop you can have a go at making one. You can search project guitar dot com for radius sanding and get a shed load of ideaas.

Boss SYB-3 Bass Synth pedal. Most bassists know these pedals well - they are a popular choice in many funk players armoury. 11 different synth modes, simple effective controls for shaping freq, resonance, speed, effects and dry signal level. A very versatile little box, I'm asking £50 for mine, incl. P&P. Comes with box but no instructions, I have a pdf downloaded from the web somewhere inside a folder on my pc. I have stuck a couple of velcro squares to the underside for attaching to pedalboard. Apart from that it is entirely original and all in perfect working order. Only been used for light jamming practice. PM me if you need any further info. [edit] SOLD - pending transfer of funds

i got the peterson strobosoft app for the touch , it seems very accurate but its not always working properly, though I bought the adapter. Just got the polytune stomp pedal and it works great for gigs

i'm also not a fan of this unboxing nonsense. If you're going to post a lot of pics of a cardboard box, sticjer, velcro pads and the underside of the pedal, do they really have to be so damned huge? Little 400 px sq would have been sufficient really. Then all the pics could just go on one page. Review - good stuff (bought one now I think they are the coolest tuner ever) but with all these pics I cannot believe you have not posted a few showing the most important part, the various display modes!
...but I'm gonna go ahead and ignore that for my own selfish gain.
Thanks - That's just a great name for a new boost pedal I'm gonna work on!

musikding.de does complete kits, link a few posts up. Other kits available from US retailers like tonepad.com start with a simple fuzz circuit on veroboard then go from there! visit http://www.diystompboxes.com/ for a wealth of advice and info

I don't think changing C1 will be enough, its already quite big - that's not acting as a hi-pass filter, they are normally tens of nanofarad value. Look at C3 output cap (10n) try increasing that to 100n and see if it thickens up the sound. I would not like to advise about changing any of the resistor values as it might upset the biasing of your trannies.
After the huge clear out, I have stuck with the following… It does all I need, with the only other sounds coming from the Overdrive section of my EBS Fafner head…. TC Electronics Polytune EBS Unichorus Boss DD-20 Delay Patched together with George L's, on a Pedal Train Mini, Powered by a Diago Powerstation. Simple, effective, light, etc etc etc Shep
 less is more - just got me a polytune, aren't they the coolest tuner ever?

I'm no expert on this but the best place to start might be replacing the 47nF input cap with a 0.47uF cap to let more lowere frequencies through into the circuit. That's where i would start. Then you have that 0.047uF cap attached to Vr on the tone pot. Try increasing that to 0.47uF as well.

How do I convert a Jazz to Active?
Al Heeley replied to popitinpete's topic in Repairs and Technical
Yep, passive - just different value tone caps to change the amount of treble cut. Copper foil shielding is always a very good practice in any guitar (or bass) whether active or passive. I got a pretty cheap pre-amp from Axes'r'us, as a drop in test for the 5-string fanned fret bass I built, worked pretty well for minimal outlay and a small footprint so it sat within the ctrl covity ok and was easy to wire up. I think u can get very cheap 2-or 3-band pre-amps to slot into a passive instrument withou having to pay hundreds, though the overall quality is never going to meet the top levels of the John East systems. They are really nicely designed and put together units. -
sent u a pm if you're interested in having a quick test drive, let me know

EQ Pedals - is the Boss GE7B still the weapon of choice?
Al Heeley replied to fretmeister's topic in Effects
got me a cheap GLX bass eq, supposedly the cheap brand boss clone from same factory, only £35, 7 band and level ctrl, works fine, can't fault it, sturdy metal case, silent sliders, effective tone shaping. -
heres a little diagram i did when i built it, if you fancy putting one together yerself, its pretty straightforward
-
I have a BMW 320d, it sits on the passenger seat Nearly had to send the car back actually - there's only 1/2" clearance in the boot for the bass cabinet.
-
I make them for myself then I find friends, fellow guitarists or bassists, who want to use them or even occasionally buy one which helps fund the next build and the next evolution. Most of the guys I play music with end up having one sitting on their pedal board. I think I've come to the end of the road for tubescreamer tweakability now so I'm going to have a go at a small clone chorus, since I'm pretty unimpressed with my Boss CEB3.
-
I put this one together in an afternoon, mdf sprayed black with velcro holding the upper shelf. so easy to put together i'd not want to buy a proprietory one. It has a bus channel along the back to feed in the power to the board and the main input and output jacks to keep it all tidy. Get yerself down to B&Q and have a bash.
-
Latest evolution of my Tubescreamer overdrive. Now has 4 different levels of bass boost plus 4 different selectable diode clipping configs, plus additional smoothing cap switch to alter the dynamics for the distortion.
-
excellent, thanks Jimbob, great find, forgot to search banzai, my natural outlet for knobs of all sorts.
-
Thanks - top digging there, I need to avoid mouser though as delivery charge is £12 for a £1.13 item, which is against my principals. Unless I can pick up some from ebay at reasonable cost i will go with a 1meg linear

I'm also hunting for same pot - guess you've been putting together a Small Clone Chorus or repairing a MusicMan? Any luck in sourcing one? Care to share? The Tonepad schematics refer to 1M-C marking on the back of this pot and its not a log pot wired backwards! (Have a look at the taper graphs on this page: http://www.geofex.com/article_folders/pots...s/potscret.htm)
