  1. Aye, but Eric Burden and the Animals were from Newcastle, with one exception, and it was while visiting Alan Price in Sunderland that inspired Burden to write "We Gotta..
  2. Yeah, but isnt that dance track, "Move, Move, Move. Move, Move Your Body" just about the same thing?
  3. Chris Rea's Road To Hell is the A19 to Middlesbrough where hes from
  4. Richard Whitely had a final Countdown
  5. His electric 'friend' was a her
  6. George Ezra, "I deezey doh" I rest my case
  7. Since being introduced to Love and Arthur Lee by the BBC Glasto re runs, I've been constantly listening to Alone Again Or, even The Damned cover, I've even got the old acoustic out
  8. True, Hebburn IS missing an angel, its along the road in Gateshead
  9. Also, anyone whose ever been there would agree that the Smith's classic, Hebburn Knows I'm Miserable Now, would be more accurate
  10. Belinda Carlisle would gain more credibility if she re recorded her hit as Hebburn (Tyne and Wear) is a Place on Earth. Likewise Bryan Adam's with, (I'm Finding it Hard to Believe) We're in Hebburn
  11. Thank God I'm not a Fashionista then
  12. I'd expect the frets to be pretty knackered, on some relic jobs the extent of the body wear should point to a pretty unplayable neck. To me, relic'ing should fool the experts
  13. The one good thing about ebay, the only good thing I suppose, is that you can avoid it
  14. See, he was that busy not making a P clone that he didnt have time to let me know
  15. I think that's because Tony Zemaitis knows that if he makes yet another Precision clone it wont be a Zemaitis original, the same reason we dont all drive round in a red Focus 1.6 L
  16. Rory's, and a Custom Shop
  17. If you've seen the actual Rory Galagher guitar you would see they are almost identical, but the original has lost more finish since the re-issue was launched
  18. I've been thinking about where the thumb came from, Upright Bassists use fingers but the Bass Guitar is a guitar, fingerpicking guitarists use their thumb for the bass parts, Leo Fender wasnt a player but he decided that that's the way it would be played
  19. The bass guitar will be 100 in 15 years having been invented by Paul Tutmarc in 1935
  20. ...Anyway, getting back to Relic'ing. At the beginning Cuzzie says he did nothing to the metal hardware, heres a tip for anyone wanting to age the chrome. You need a black bin liner, a saucer and some Muriatic Acid, which can be picked up from B&Q. Inflate the bin bag and place the parts you want to age inside, the bin bag is on a bench btw. Next put the saucer inside with about 200ml of Muriatic acid on it, get the bag well inflated and tie a knot in it. The whole thing now needs to be left to let the fumes from the acid do their work, it's best to do it in the morning so you can keep an eye on the progress, about 8 hours is good depending on the level of aging you are after
  21. Theres an early 50s film from the Fullerton factory showing a group of people playing various Fenders, the bloke on the Precision is using his thumb, and the Tug bar has always been placed for thumb playing
  22. Been going over my playlists, Eleanor Rigby, The Long And Winding Road, Hurt, Song To The Siren, 100 Years (The Cure)
  23. An excellent question that I cant for the life of me find an answer to, it's made me realise that I'm in a constant state of Leonard Cohen/Grateful Dead, despite my witty posts, maybe they are how I get a lift
