1. I'm selling my Alembic Rogue 5 with a wonderful Birdseye Maple top. This bass is stunning in sound and look ! Born in '97 it was very well cared for until today so it is still in great shape. There is a small scratch on the back and some minor hair scratches on the the lower side of the body. Very very small fading on the parts of the bridge - you won't notice it without a closer look. Everything else is like new - the brass parts, the finish, the frets, the knobs, the OHSC ... It provides a huge B especially with the bass switch turned to boost. The bass weighs freaking low 4.2 kg ! I have never touched a full scale Alembic with less weight ! The pics are shown as shot with the Canon lens without any changes. Bass comes with original hardcase, nothing else. I'm asking 2.500 Euro firm for it plus shipping. Bass comes from 40547 Duesseldorf / Germany. No trades at the moment. More (and high res) pics on request.
2. Bump for a breathtaking bass from one of the widely recognized connoisseurs and trustworthy sellers in the bass world. Good luck Ari. I really have to fight my demons to not buy it in a heartbeat ... But I'm sure this will not last long.
3. SOLD .... Pending payment ...

I'll try to record some in the next days but not sure whether I find some minutes for that.

14. Thanks basschatters ! Playing this bass is pure fun - even for unexperienced fretless players (like me) ...
15. Thanks everybody The pics do not justice the real top. It has a wonderful 3-dimensional pattern ... The sound is unbelievable clear, deep and responsive to my fingers, yet organic. Unfortunately the 17mm string spacing is too tight for my fingers - so it gets much too less played ... .
16. Spector NS-5XL USA Specs: Limited Edition with breathtaking Water-Cured Redwood Burl Top Walnut body Pau Ferro board, 24 frets 35 scale Massive golden Spector bridge Active Spector preamp with Vol/Bal/Bass/Treble 2 EMG pickups High gloss finish Weight: 4,45 kg Birth year: 2004 Dream of a high-end US Spector. LIKE NEW ! Incl. Spector Hardcase. Lowest action and unbeaten comfort. And the sound is very explosive, responsive, clear, yet organic. B string fully integrated with the other strings. Water-cured Redwood tops are not available anymore, but of exceptional aesthetical and tonal quality. The story behind the "water-cured" was told on the Spector site: Spector went to the rosewood forests of Northern California to find this particular tonewood, where they excavated giant rosewood stumps from trees that had been cut down over 100 years ago, and were submerged by a river for the remainder of that time until collected by Spector. What does this kind of century-long river bank and muck immersion do to rosewood burl? Spector describes it thusly: The flow of the river water for such an extended period deposited minerals that have hardened the wood and deepened the color to a rich chocolate brown. In addition to this all the sugars have been washed out of the wood enabling drying to be done in the same fashion as the traditional preparation of violin woods. SOLD
