Just decided to part with my Celinder Update J 5 SOLD ! Specs: Body: Ash Finish: Translucent Cobalt Blue Maple Board with MOP block inlays Scale: 35 Weight: 4,7 kg Pickups: Celinder Jazz in 70s positions Preamp: Greengrove CPIII (the original and best Celinder pre !) Original high-end Celinder case in like-new condition (I prefer to use gig bags). Used, but in very good condition, technically perfect. Very low action without buzz. Some wear from playing here and there but nothing to be pictured. Frets have only little wear. Soundwise it is a top '70s Jazz with 5 strings and a thundering slap tone. Chris Celinder is a fan of Marcus Miller and he achieved his fat slap tone like nobody else.

SOLD ! Fodera Imperial 5 fretless. Specs: Walnut Body Full Macassar Ebony Top Macassar Ebony Board (lined with purpleheart stripes) 34 scale neck, 5-pc with purpleheart stringers Black Hardware Weight: 4,6 kg 1 Duncan Dual Coil in wooden cover, neck position Graphtech Piezo saddles per string with CafeWalter Piezo Buffer (Noisefree !), These Piezos are installed after.market by Bassline/Krefeld and easily removable. Pope preamp (standard version) String spacing <17mm Serial: I525xxN No side dot markers ! Condition is like new. Only small wear on the board from roundwounds. Currently strung with Thomastik Flats. The bass is configured for E-C tuning. The bass sounds and rings as a world-class fretless should. The Piezo provides the deep low end and high register click as if this would be an acoustical guitar. The bridge pickup adds the complex midrange to cut in the mix and let the bass ring with a nice mwah. Comes with original teardrop case. Retail price for this bass would be around 12.000 Euro plus 1-2 years wait. Full Ebony tops - especially with even figuring like this - are becoming more and more rare according to the Fodera guys. I've seen less than a handful Fodera Fretless' since years on the used market. Don't miss out this chance if you look for one.

For sale is my F Bass BN5. Specs: Body: Ash Top: Exhibition Grade Crotch Walnut (2.500 Euro Upgrade) Wonderful grained Macassar Ebony Board Scale: 34.5 Built in 2007 The wll known BN5 with a breathtaking top - pics don't justice ! Provides the warm, yet organic tone these bolt-on basses stand for. Frets in nearly unplayed condition. Includes Yamaha case. Some cosmetical issues: The previous owner mounted a third strap pin on the butt, the pin is now unmounted but left a hole in the wood. There have been mounted a ramp between the pickups using bad glue, which left a 2-3 cm wide damage in the finish. Some dings on the upper horn. The neck and frets, tuners and truss rod - everything important for sound and feel is in perfect working condition. Sold. Thanks to all.
Maybe that's how factory specs slated them to be but there are so many fine examples of exceptions to that rule it kind of makes it a non-rule - if you know what I mean. Same goes for the comment about solid colours and mint green guards. On-paper factory spec says 'yes', real life exmples say 'no'.
May be. But as long as I don't have an evidence from the history of the particular bass I would assume a after-market customization. Always. Don't want to offense you, but imo these statements are too often used to legalize abstruse changes. Unless the first owner tells the whole story in person I don't trust in these exceptions. That does not mean that they don't exist but the vintage market is blown by fakes and Frankens so I believe it is good to have a certain amount of mistrust.... My 2c. This is a nice bass by the way and I have no problem with the nice colour - even if it might be not correct for an ash body. I am always tempted to drive to Rory and grab it when I look at this...
