  1. Getting into a band early, and being able to tell people I liked them before they were well known and that I prefer their early stuff. 😉
  2. Didn't know about Matlock's basses getting nicked. With the Pistols, equipment theft normally went in the opposite direction!
  3. Me too. Looks like its worth a watch, but not a bloody Disney subscription.
  4. Love a happy ending! I feel the lure of an unoccupied drum kit too…… but wouldn’t be cheeky enough to jump behind the kit at a first rehearsal……. especially with my drumming skills!
  5. Tropical Hotdog Night is an absolute classic. I was thinking Beefheart during that Jack White song too, but not any specific song.
  6. I used to love the Kills.....still do. I think the Dead Weather was during the, ahem, "Kate Moss" years?
  7. Oh, is he quite well known? If I knew he was popular I wouldn't have liked it 😉!
  8. Yes, amazing that some people don't know what that means............ 😐
  9. I like that picture too..... I feel more relaxed after looking at that. Ok, let's get to work!
  10. My favourite players are more P. I prefer the look of a J. Form vs Function dilemma ahoy!
  11. Jack White is at least in the zone of my cup of tea. Got all the White Stripes stuff but not followed him closely since, just what I hear on 6 music. The stuff posted here is pretty good IMO.
  12. I only have one bass - a p style copy. Id like to upgrade a little to a Squire P or something. But I don’t see myself having multiple basses, just one main bass (for everything) and maybe the old one as a backup.
  13. Maybe it's just telling the same story you already heard. The lyrics and playing on NMTB tell a different story.
  14. Gwenno. this is in Welsh, but apparantly she also sings in English and Cornish.
  15. Amazing achievement by Delia and the other contributors.
  16. Jimi Hendrix, pre-Experience. Part of Curtis Knight and The Squires.
  17. There's Hatebeak... the heavy metal band with a parrot lead singer.
  18. You might be in the minority. But based on this comment, it does sound like a good idea to regularly use both your amp and back-up amp:
  19. In terms of redundancy, is this serial or parallel usage?
  20. It's cheaper, and IMO justifiable in terms of risk management. Risk management is about taking into account a) the likelihood/probability of a thing happening and b) the consequence of the thing happening. Amp failures don't happen very often The consequence of having no amp is massively worse than having an OK amp. The consequence of having an OK amp is only slightly worse than having a good amp.
  21. I used to think "A Song For Guy" was about Guy the Gorilla (due to TOTP) but turns out it was for a young man at Eltons' record label who died - a courier I think. And there were words to the Birdie song. OK, they weren't on the record!
