  1. Here is my contribution for March 2022. Blurb: Daffodils always remind me of a works trip to a daffodil festival. The organiser has a son with some kind of nuerotype which leads to argumentative behaviour, which is very difficult for his parents. This is one of the few works trips he didn't come on. That is one of the topics covered. Technical Notes: Studio One DAW, piano-roll drums (Dope Kit), Vantage Bass, Squier Tele gtr, Mai-Tai keys played via Akai-mini, Beheriger condesor mic.
  2. Sounded clean at low volume. I cranked it up and could hear some kind of low-level noise. You play a riff 4 times.... seemed to get louder after the first rep.
  3. I can recommend loads more like that if you change your mind 😉
  4. Don’t know if this counts but English Rose by The Jam was played on the radio at the weekend and I got it from the opening sea sounds.
  5. When you say name it in one, do you mean one note of the record or one note on a piano like the quiz show?
  6. I used to really like P&TTTB and enjoy the humour. Still do. I used to have a P*ssed and Proud T-shirt. Good example line from "The Moped Lads": The moped lads, they think they're bad If you hit them, they tell their dads
  7. I know the song well, being a 6music listener! I think the whole thing is very good. Because I mainly hear it 'in order', to me it seems like the song is already good, and then that riff comes in a raises it even more. (disclaimer: but I do like that kind of 'spoken word' delivery)
  8. As far as I know it’s an original part of the song. But I can see how it would get used in TV etc.
  9. Is it the guitar hook you have been hearing?
  10. Just restarted the PC..... back to 89% usage... before I'd opened Edge or the DAW or any app.
  11. Started using Edge (to log onto Basschat) and now the usage is up to 80% with the old Windows manager issue: Studio one is still open, same song. But only 120BM. Even playing the song takes it up to 221MB. Strange.
  12. I tried making a dummy track.... and following the results in memory usage: Seems like amplitube is causing big jumps. And it goes down again after a break - does that make any sense? It's whe nthe total memory usage goes into the high 80's that I get audio issues. And even the nthe DAW is only using max 3GB. I might get some more RAM , but still seems like the PC is wasting a load of RAM. On Edit: Just thought.... I didn't have Amplitube on the old PC.
  13. I've tried running windows diagnostic on memory.... it says there are no issues found.
  14. I know of a band who get together each week (or whatever) and compose and arrange an instrumental track. At the end a band associate comes in, listens to the track and gives it a title. He’s good with words…. fanzines and so on. Then pub I think.
  15. Yes, those names sound good! But what is Wiretap?
  16. It's a small two channel Pre-Sonus Audiobox It says: input latency is 13.1 ms / 578 samples output latency is 11.6 ms / 512 samples
  17. Thanks for the input @BigRedX, but it still doesn't all add up for me..... but I'm for sure no PC expert. My old PC, where I did all my recording until recently, had 4GB of memory and I never had a memory issue. When I got a new PC I doubled the memory to 8GB and it's worse. I could understand it if I did have lots open at once, but it has high memory usage when I'm not running much... and at a rough summing up all the different memory used by the different processes in it doesn't come to anywhere near 8MB. Something seems wrong, like I'm not fully accessing the 8MB I do have, and I'm trying to get to the bottom of that before adding more memory.
  18. Please don’t share what BBPH stands for 😧
  19. Having said that I prefer the subtle use of humor, I must admit to recently watching about 10 vids on Youtube by The Chats:
  20. I deactivated the screensaver, based on one of the links above (thanks!) and seems like Windows manager is running better now. But the more I play, the more I am convinced the PC is not accessing all of the memory. I have 8GB and right now browser is using about 800MB.... so about 10% right? But if I change the dsplay to "percent" it comes out as 35% Bit of schoolkid maths says that works out a total memry of about 2..2 MB But the other display shows as if 8GB were available: Very confusing.
  21. Make sure the audience knows the band name, and can get to your facebook (or whatever) page and get contact details etc. So announce the band name a few times, have posters up and fliers around.
  22. I don't care for Pink Floyd's more popular works, but I can imagine that what SOS do would be good.
  23. Looks like it is 64-bit: But when I look at it in "User" view it seems to consider 3.5gb as 82% But in another view it says almost double the gb but still at around 80%
  24. Now it seems like Windows manager is using a lot. there's a lot of stuff which I don't need.... e.g. "your phone". I'll try killing some of that garbage.
