Nail Soup

Ok, here goes! Don't do a lot of covers, but this has been on my to-do list for a while now, so good excuse to get it done. It's a pretty straight cover of a pretty un-straight cover............... Techy stuff: DAW - Studio One, Drums - Bitsa drumkit with suitcase bass drum, carboot snare, gear4music tom and borrowed ride. Bass -Vantage , Guitar - Squire Tele, Mic - Shure SM58

I quite like it, looks-wise. I think the design looks better as a bass than a guitar actually🤯 .

Uses it as pick?

He didn't want to do a signature bass..... but he was badgered into it 😉 .

Sounds like a good idea 👍 So questions from my side is........ is this already a popular option for people who mod basses and do 'bitsas', is there some technical issue stopping people from doing it?

Good fun! Love to have a couple of pints at a folk circle or similar type of play-along. I stick to no booze at a gig until after the show though.

I don’t hear these get mentioned much….. rechargeable power supply for pedal board. Great way to avoid another cable on stage and at rehearsal. I use this one but others available.

I've watched a few of them ........ even in the 'basics' ones I found a few gaps in knowledge...... and in some other vids I knew almost nothing and found features I didn't know existed. Good stuff!

I find these kind of list pretty useful. I don’t enjoy the process of trying out and selecting gear…. so would be easier to go for something tried and tested.

Channelling a bit of Susie Q?

I have same situation... allen key too long. I tried googling around but the short arm ones are really pricy and might be too short. I tried a hacksaw... but it did not even make mark on the key. May have been a blunt blade... based on your comment I'll try again with a fresh blade.

I had only ever heard of MacGyver via the Simpsons....Marge's sisters often used to watch or refer to it. I'd assumed it was a fictional show, like Itchy and Scratchy. But seems it's real!

I had ticket to one gig… rescheduled due to covid but the new date was while I was on holiday. Annoying for me and the band, but not surprising.

Thanks - I didn't realise that... but it fits with my experience: seems like only the last few years that I heard the phrase - not as many as 14 or whatever years ago

I reckon it could work well on multi-band ska bill where the punters would want each band to have their own take on the genre.
