  1. And finance it by stopping the kids pocket money (when they start getting it) for a couple of years!
  2. Singer had one of the best stage names…… Helen McCookerybook😃
  3. Excellent! Well done both! And welcome @Waddo Soqable to being able to share your recordings! I reckon those Zooms are pretty good…. But if you ever get a DAW it will open up a load. of new possibilities…… 😃
  4. Also liking this at the moment: Deap Vally - I Like Crime (feat. Jennie Vee)
  5. I'm liking this a lot at the moment: Sault - London Gangs
  6. Girls At Our Best! - "Going Nowhere Fast" and "I'm Beautiful Now"
  7. I’m gonna guess Pino Palladino
  8. I could imagine that if you are the resident band at a ski resort you might not be allowed to ski due to injury risk?
  9. I love a happy ending! Now for the sequel :"I've got a new fuse but I can't push it back in again"
  10. Good luck ….. or as they say in theatre “break a leg”😃
  11. I was there. Seen here playing second bass: Cool! It took you six pages in to mention this ? If it were me I'd have been boasting about this on page 1 😀
  12. I'm gradually improving my set up, and wondering if EZDrummer (or similar product) would benefit me. The product, and the associated expansion packs, seem like a lot of money. I'm willing to pay, but I suspect that what I have might be good enough for my needs. What do I have? Studio one plug-in called "Impact" It is easy to use Supports velocity layers Can be programmed in grid mode (piano roll) or via tapping MIDI pads I can construct my own kits from WAV files. Has standard features like choke groups, changing the envelope of the sound etc. Features that EZ Drummer that I think I don't need: Midi Loops (I program drums from scratch... probably sounds worse as a result, but I want it to be my own work) Changing Mic placement So, here is where I'd appreciate advice: Are there any other features of EZ-drummer type plug-ins that I should take into consideration? Am I making a mistake to dismiss MIDI loops and mic placement ? Any other thoughts/advice on the topic? Is it easy to obtain packs of drum his with velocity layers for my Impact?
  13. Amplified by alcohol…. Or the other thing that causes complete lack of normal inhibitions: being a singer😃
  14. Tambourines are the perfect storm...……. Look easy to play. Are not easy to play in time. Cheap to buy, or easy to grab Cuts through any mix.
  15. My Bloody Valentine anyone? Here's the breakthrough single, plus a track each from the two albums
  16. Don't think we've had The Au Pairs yet:
  17. If you want to stick with the Zoom instead of going to a DAW, the following *might* help: Before I had a DAW I used to use a ZOOM MRS4 four track recorder. From the zoom website I downloaded an accessory called an MRS Card Manager or something.. You could use it to back up your memory card, and also to convert your Zoom tracks to WAV files. (had to pull the card out of the Zoom, and plug it into a card>USB adapter) So I'd use the bounce function in the Zoom to make a final stereo mix to two tracks, and then use the card manager to convert the stereo mix to a WAV mix. Maybe there's a similar tool for your model?
  18. On the topic of Cardigan mix-ups, I always got the Cardigans mixed up with Swedish contemporaries the Concretes. Here's a couple from the debut album..... one upbeat, one (my fave!) more Velvets-y. Note: You can't Hurry Love is not a cover.
