  1. Oh, come on! Scott wears white gloves
  2. Bit complicated. Surely a better solution is to make a pit in the floor. This would have its own natural boundary, and no need to calculate neck reach etc.
  3. Thanks. I'll probably take the days I need to evaluate (60 might be enough) then, if reaper becomes part of my tool set, pay the license fee.
  4. Coming soon: Evocative Bagpipes Passionate Panpipes
  5. I just tries it with the settings above............ ..... and it works. I have a MOV file with sound! (Played back with Windows media player) these are the properties..... looks OK to me: Thanks @skidder652003 I think I'm in business for video.....and can continue my evaluation of Reaper.πŸ‘
  6. Great picture and backstory @Leonard Smalls !
  7. BBC news just said Mr Brightside by the Killers has become the longest chart song ever or something. "According to the Official Chart Company, Mr Brightside is streamed 1.2 million times a week on average, and has sold 3.52 million copies since it was first released in 2003." Mr Brightside: The hit that just won't die - BBC News Here's some others.
  8. Thanks, but .. it was 55 at the first lockdown, so 56 now!
  9. If I understand it correctly the post-Lynott line up of Thin Lizzy have an alter-ego band Black Star Riders. BSR is for when they write new material. I think they now generally do BSR and only occasionally use the TL alias.
  10. Thanks @skidder652003 I don't have an option for mpeg 4 (just 1 or 2), but I do have a MOV option and with MOV option comes options for PCM (16 bit or 24 bit): I tried it like this but still silent: If this setting works for others then I guess there must be something wrong in the video support files?
  11. Well done Lenny and Lurks!
  12. Anyone remember the band Gaye Bikers on Acid? They had an amusingly named alter-ego , and sometimes (If I remember correctly) used to support themselves................ Lesbian Dopeheads on Mopeds
  13. hhhhmmmm.... maybe more of a spin-off πŸ€” ..... or side project????
  14. I hope I never have this experience πŸ˜„ (to be fair I'd probably enjoy a lot of it πŸ‘)
  15. Listening to 6music on catch-up tonight and they played a session by band called Monotony. They are actually another band (Sauna Youth) who just swapped instruments and formed the alter-ego band. They record and gig in both incarnations. Any favourite examples where a band formed an alter-ego band?
  16. Reminds me of a folk festival I went to couple of years ago. Martin Harley played a set with his usual outstanding slide guitar. The next act came on, and the guitarist got out a slide for one song and proceded to play the most basic possible slide part. At the end of the song he walked up to the mic and said "Eat your heart out Martin Harley!"........ made me laugh anyway.
  17. A bloke at a folk circle I used to attend did it. I would say it made it hard t o follow the chords by looking at his hands, but most of the time he played complex Jazz chords which I wouldn't have followed any way up!
  18. I'm evaluating reaper, about 10 days into the 60. One key thing I need, which I don't get in Studio One, is to make videos. First off, I could not import vidoe, abut after importing some files (see otehr thread) it will import video. I've successfully recorded a track with drums (programmed), bass, guitar, keys (Midi) and vox and applied a few effects. All rendered to WAV very well. So far so good. I added some video clips, chopped them up to have changes at each bar. That worked well. I rendered to video, and it looks OK, but no audio. Tried a few different formats, but no sound. Hoping the Basschat brains can help 🀞 See screenshots:
  19. You chose an interesting age threshold , as the first lockdown happened a week or so before my 55th Birthday (It's tomorrow if anyone cares!). I missed my first gig with my new band and a few in the diary for my continuing band. We are punk/new wave and normally play to people are own age. Our drummer is much younger and sometimes we get some of his crowd along. And his mum/dad! Our guitarist gets us gigs at beer festivals where there is a more mixed age range. We normally go down OK, but best with the oldies! I fully intend to gig after 55 though.
  20. Interesting. I'd like to hear more about that!
