  1. For pedals that store different settings ( especially in banks) : How easy is it to change from one setting to another? Is it a smooth transition sound-wise? Preferably Demonstrate the above rather than tell.
  2. I've had a bit of luck in that area. I always wanted to do either DK's HIC or California Uber Alles with my current band, but no luck. But then I joined a side band and they had HIC already in the set.👍 I suggest a lot of songs to my main band which don't get accepted (and some that do). I didn't hold up much hope when I suggested Goo Goo Muck by the Cramps.... but I played it them and they said yes!👍 (Love Bikini Girls and the whole Stay Sick album too) We do Public Image in both bands.... but I'd love to do a track from Metal Box . Someone in the audience shouted out for Death Disco once, so you never know!
  3. Over the last couple of weeks I've been listening to the music of Rachel Aggs. I was first aware of her a couple of years ago when her band Trash Kit played at a small local venue and I went to see them on the off chance. They were great. In the last couple of weeks I have bought an album by 'Shopping' and realised that Rachel is in them too. And youtube has shown me that she is also in Sacred Paws - another band who I have heard and liked. She must be pretty busy! Just downloaded the Sacred Paws album - "Strike a Match" - here's the title track.
  4. I heard it there too. I made a mental note to listen to it properly later - without the overlayed story etc (no complaints, I like the feature). Of course, I promptly forgot to do so! So thanks for posting!
  5. Interesting analysis. Do you have an overall percentage split between bass and player?
  6. Takeaway Beach? (Sorry for thread derailment )
  7. Seen it up to the halfway mark (Corrie!).... will watch the rest in the next couple of days. There was another 6-string on in the last few weeks.... the grandson(?) of the original owner played it at the end, and I quite enjoyed it...... a rare thing as I normally don't like what people play to demo a guitar.
  8. And I bet at the end they still don’t know who the fifth Beatle is.
  9. Singles rather than albums, but there's a fair few (including me) who would buy these based on the distinctive "Stencil Circle":
  10. Courtney Barnett - Porcelain I'd accidentally put the MP3 player on Shuffle (there's only about 10 albums at a time in there, but the old memory's not so good so I don't remember what they are!) and this came up. Sounded all the better for not knowing it was coming Good for drifting away to.
  11. But I wouldn't like to pick a fight with him.
  12. Interesting to hear a different viewpoint. I took a quick listen to a couple of tracks from Loco Live, but say it comes close to It's Alive. These things often depend on how and when you were introduced to the band. As a comparison here's Cretin Hop from both albums:
  13. IMO the latter day Ramones ruined the live act by speeding up to much🙁 - what d’ya reckon?
  14. Ramones - It’s Alive The Fall - Live in London 1980
  15. I don’t know, but a thread title like “Ron Mathewson upright basses - where are they?” might be more likely to get the answer than your own user name😃.
  16. I can't remember the artist, but my Mum and Dad suggested going to a local gig for my birthday treat. So they found something at a local venue - some kind of Indian influenced world music - and asked what I thought. I said sounds good, Let's give it a go. Turned out it was a load of noodling jazz, with a bit of Indian thrown in here and there. Also the guy who was band leader 'didn't feel like talking' so one of the backing singers did all the talking. So we left at the interval, after assuring parents that I was happy that they made a good punt, but this time it didn't work out. Turns out the venue is a Jazz venue and don't even bother writing jazz into the artist descriptions .
  17. I think such bands are allowed in under variant B rules.
  18. I didn't track the whole career, but I did enjoy (and buy) the first album.
  19. I think your drummer is missing the point of desirable but useless objects.
  20. Well maybe Lars doesn't count too well 😐!
