  1. I have one and would agree that the neck is probably between a jazz and a P. It definitely feels more slender than my US P but not as skinny as my jazz. I can take some measurements later for comparison if you want?
  2. If that Wooten fella had the temerity to ask to ask to borrow my #1 bass I’d have to say “Oi Wooten, NO! - who do you think you are?” Celebrities? Scum🤬 😉
  3. I could imagine not wanting to bring back line equipment but as a musician why would you not bring your main instrument, particularly when it’s relatively easy to transport? On the other hand, would you feel comfortable playing a bunch of gigs on an unfamiliar instrument? Sounds dodgy to me.
  4. Seems like a lot of money. 🤷
  5. On the rare couple of occasions I’ve been able to sit behind a drum kit I discovered that I’m absolutely hopeless. I can only do two things at the same time - Snare and hi hat, snare and bass drum, bass drum and hi hat, but as soon as as I introduce a third element one of the others stops. 😂 I think I’ll stick to playing bass (badly).
  6. In the past I’ve used Better Web Space for simple no-frills web hosting. Packages start from £15 per year. https://www.betterwebspace.com/hosting/packages.php As already mentioned, now that Facebook insists on a login to access content hosted there, this is likely to exclude (annoy) potential visitors.
  7. A very good point which illustrates how ridiculous it is to pay VAT on secondhand goods, especially when buyer and seller are not businesses registered for VAT.
  8. If you’re buying from an Italian retailer make sure they’re not charging local VAT in their price otherwise you effectively pay VAT twice (including UK VAT on the Italian VAT!). As they’re exporting the item no local VAT should be payable. Mrs V got caught out with this buying something from Germany. Brexit aware retailers (like Thomann) have arrangements to pay UK VAT etc., and the price you see on their website is exactly what you pay in GBP.
  9. “Escutcheon” So that’s what they’re called. Every day’s a school day. 😉
  10. I met Rob today to collect some Telecaster parts. Arranged to buy them yesterday and he responded very quickly. A very efficient purchase. Rob is a really nice guy and very helpful. Cheers.
  11. Did you forget The Clash though?
  12. Well, specifically wider Europe then (or whatever EV’s definition of Europe is these days).
  13. None at all. It’s just another way for the world to collectively stick two fingers up to Putin.
  14. Stewblack and the Xtensions? (I made that up 😉)
  15. Dave and the Orbits. https://www.discogs.com/artist/4329176-Dave-And-The-Orbits
  16. A bit too late but I just came across this video which is a good comparison. Not much in it although I do prefer the slightly warmer sounding ’63 version.
  17. Is there any noticeable difference between how they feel/play/sound?
  18. Ostinato? https://www.britannica.com/art/ostinato
  19. My wife is guilty of that. Four bank extensions with the cable wrapped tightly around the block of sockets. 👿
  20. People helping out with packing up who proceed to wind cables around their elbow, or worse, their fist.
