  1. That’s quite an upgrade! I couldn’t bring my self to stretch to the cost of the new Pro/Max models but from what I’ve read the M1 Air will be more than adequate for my modest needs.
  2. So, I pulled the trigger and got an M1 MacBook Air. Great value for the power and I love the fanless design. Cool bit of kit 😎
  3. I expect the Eagles’ copyright control freaks will end up taking it down 🙁 Meanies.
  4. That amp/cab on the left looks like a Peavey rig I had in the early eighties. It was a bit of lump to lug around and probably contributed to me stopping gigging at that time. After that, I loaned it to a “friend” who’d joined a band but didn’t have his own gear. I never saw it, or him again 😡
  5. Thanks, I didn’t know that. That track is my favourite on the album. Her voice is outstanding!
  6. Her own album “I Used to Be” is worth a listen too.
  7. I just used a fret saw and then a flat file around the edges to add a bevel to match the existing one (well, when I say ‘match’ it’s an approximation. It doesn’t bear close scrutiny 😂 )
  8. BTW this bass is strung with Adagio flats and now I’ve got it set up properly it plays flawlessly all the way up the neck. Coupled with a wiring loom from @KiOgon it sounds excellent. 🙂
  9. That’s what I’m thinking too. I wonder how well it would actually fit a Precision because the mounting holes are not in the same place as a standard pick guard. This is the one I made out of a mirrored pick guard:
  10. That’s the sort of thing I had in mind but it would still need trimming to fit a standard p bass with all the associated risk of messing it up.
  11. Are you talking about a metal control plate à la jazz bass style but in a p shape? I just went through this conundrum with my P-bass bitsa build but gave up trying to source one and ended up getting a mirrored pick guard and trimming it down. It wasn’t entirely successful as I’m a bit cack-handed when it comes to craft skills but it will do until a better alternative comes along. So, I can’t answer your question but I’m interested in the outcome. I did think about contacting these guys but haven’t got around to it yet. https://tinytone.co.uk/custom-scratchplates/ They seem oriented to normal plastic/acrylic/celluloid versions but might be able to do a metal one at a price.
  12. The only benefit I gained by fitting a high mass bridge was that I had a spare bridge left over for my bitsa build 😂 I guess you could argue the physics all day long but subjectively it makes sod all difference IMHO.
  13. +1 for the Unitune. Nice clear screen. Around £20ish.
  14. Is it The Archers theme tune 😉
  15. You might be better posting this in Guitar Chat: https://www.guitarchat.co.uk
  16. I’ve been pondering this news for the past half hour or so trying to think what to say, but it really is too sad for words. Just be strong for her family. 😔

Loving this and happy to discover it’s on Apple Music too 😎
  18. No you can’t go Bluetooth for the headphones, they have to be wired. When I’ve tried Bluetooth headphones in the past (with a dongle in my Zoom) the latency makes it unusable. I’d love a Waza Air - one day may be. 😉
  19. I started with the Vox, then got a Zoom B1-4, which is great but not very spontaneous to set up and use, so I found myself using the Vox more because of its convenience. Now I’ve got the NUX I think it’s the perfect compromise. Convenience beyond the Vox due to being rechargeable and having Bluetooth aux in but still relatively capable with effects, amp sims and a few more drum patterns. I like the idea of taking it to a bass shop to test stuff relatively privately too. I think I’ll be using it a lot. 😀
  20. I wonder what sort of protection he’s expecting the hard hat to provide?
  21. The problem with owning a fine vintage bass as an investment is that to realise the benefit of any gain in value you have to sell the thing. Who would be happy to do that? 🙁
  22. In a similar vein, I watched this yesterday. 15 years old. It’s enough to make you sick…
  23. My NUX MP-2 Mighty Plug arrived today. When I came home from work just now, within a couple of minutes I’d opened it, plugged it in, plugged my headphones in, turned it on and WOW! Immediately impressive; good level, very quiet noise-wise and the initial setting had reverb on which sounded clear and clean. My first impression is that it’s very good and much better than the Vox; virtually noiseless in comparison. Now I need to get the app and figure out all settings and features. So far, so good. I’m very happy.
  24. I bet people who bought Fullerton reissues in the early 80s are expecting them to appreciate strongly over the next couple of decades. I’d love to buy one if I could find the right one. I wonder what today’s equivalent of a future Fullerton would be?
