  1. Ok. When I looked back at the box it came in, it looked like it had been badly handled in the post. The knobs had been pushed almost through the cardboard by some impact. So maybe it wasn’t their fault. I dunno. The replacement did turn up as promised today (Tuesday) after reporting it on Friday. I haven’t checked it yet, but I can’t fault their service.
  2. I have some crackly pots on an amp. I was just going to buy some off eBay, but it turns out there’s like a billion different brands/formulas and I found myself overwhelmed by the bewildering array of choices. I've never needed to use any before so thought I’d challenge the bass hive mind for recommendations. Are they all like super thin oil based like a WD40? Is there anything to avoid? Would love to hear your thoughts. Even though it’s a cheap purchase, I’ll be using it on a decent amp, so I don’t want to get it wrong. cheers mah dudes.
  3. It just arrived. It’s a brick. Not showing lights with either a 9v supply, or a battery. I saw someone else had this same problem in this thread too. I phoned them and they were very nice about it, they’re sending a replacement Monday, with next day delivery, so should be here Tuesday. I asked what I should do with this one, and they said it’ll cost more for them to arrange a courier to pick it up, and get it repaired than it’s value. So, basically, keep it or chuck it away. Well since it’s not working …and is free, I figured it worth opening it up and see if there’s anything obvious going on…. Maybe a drop of solder will get it working again. To my surprise there’s fresh flux surrounding the input joints on the circuit board. So it looks like it’s been returned before for a repair, which obviously still has a problem. As nice as they’ve been about it, I can’t say I’m impressed with them selling me a faulty/repaired (but still faulty) unit. Maybe it’s the one our basschat companion sent back? I think I’d be happier if that was the case tbh, because that would mean it’s a one off, rather than a common fault. Oh well, I’ll let you know if the replacement works on Tuesday.
  4. Currently 20 of them left…. No wait. 19 now. For £23 and some change I’ll take a punt. It can sit in a drawer as a standby at that price. yeah btw, don’t forget to claim the £5 off offer if it’s your first purchase. It’s on the front page of the web site.
  5. Just bought a Mcmillen 12 step from Rik. Great guy to deal with. A smooth deal, great coms, speedy delivery and well packed! Everything you can hope for from a seller! 5/5 stars! 🍺
  6. I’ll take that... if it’s still available. (best clip on in my opinion. I’ve misplaced mine and could use a convenient replacement!)
  7. Amazing! I was thinking you’d have to have custom cables and run half serial, half parallel, or something crazy like that. What a great set up and amazing rig!
  8. What’s the ohms on this rig?
  9. Hey Dan. it’s been a while, 5-6 years maybe? What’s the skinny on IEM’s now. Do you have new ones? Are you still using them. Was there any long term issue worth a mention? Would love to know...
  10. Well, you’re already aware of the Darkglass element, but just thought I’d mention I *love* that function on mine. It makes it the *best* practice tool. I use it in conjunction with my iPad and an app called AudioScrub (remix edition) for playing back music.
  11. Hmmm. Let me think about that. I’ll have a look at the prices.
  12. I’d snatch this off your hands immediately, just for the spare drivers, but the distance from Sheffield is a bit more than I can justify for ‘spare speakers’.
  13. Powersoft are second to none... and as you say expensive, but my Digam 3002 Is anything but light. But it’s worth it...
  14. The DB680 is *fantastic*, but very heavy in its own right... the Warwick Hellborg Pre is almost it’s equal. ..If not it’s actual equal (I’ve got both) It’s light, ...more reliable (being SS) and only 1u. ok that’s your pre sorted. Amps... When I use that system I pair the Hellborg Pre with a Powersoft 3002, but that’s very heavy. i dunno really what’s a good but light power amp. I’ve got a couple of Peavey IPR1600’s which are easily 1 finger liftable. Preposterously lightweight, but I only used them on a foldback system, so I can’t vouch for the sound on bass. sticking with separates but going lighter would mean you can change out the power section if you’re unhappy. And if you’re a fan of the DB680 check out the Hellborg. You won’t regret it I’m sure. There was a used one going on here quite cheap. Dunno if it sold...
  15. very interested. Any idea what delivery cost would be?
  16. How is the neck attached? It doesn’t seem to be bolt on as it’s missing the screws. It’s not neckthrough. Is it glued into the pocket?
  17. Great amp. Top seller. For what it’s worth, I recommend both highly! 😬 If I didn’t already have two Thunderfunks (Thunderfi ?) I’d be all over this!
  18. Resurrecting my thread with a bump!
  19. I’ve noticed a few things.... My icon has disappeared. I’m pretty sure I used to have a ‘sig’ on each post, which I assume have been removed for everyone? ...and I used to have a Feedback thread, which the search function isn’t finding now. are these problems which anyone else has been suffering? Andy.
  20. Just collected a Schroeder 1212L from Andy. It was nice of him to agree to bring the deal to a halfway point, to make it possible. Appreciated. Nice chap. my thanks Bud. GremlinAndy.
  21. Still willing to buy this cab if delivered. I looked into couriers but the only suggestion that anyone had was Hermes.
  22. I’d love this cab, but the delivery is a problem. I don’t have the option to collect being type 1 diabetic. (Under isolation rules for another month) These cabs are the mutts nuts guys, and at that price is a steal imo.
  23. Wait... what was the original question again? 🤣
