Hey, I've been having some problems with crackling noises (and the sound cutting down to a very low volume) on and off with my nearly new Aguilar amp rig (bought new late last year). Aguilar AG 500 SC Head Aguilar DB 112 Cab I've tried 3 basses (2 active, 1 of them with a new battery), various cables etc. and the problem persists. An audio example is attached. Any ideas?

Hi, I need a Speakon to Speakon cable to connect an Aguilar AG500SC amp head to an Aguilar DB112 cab. I've gotten confused looking at all the options, impedence, ohms etc. I'm trying to prevent a situation where I destroy the new arrivals with the wrong cable (physically or sound wise). Does it even matter - will any Speakon work? I was there on the Monday night! Does anybody know what bass her bassist was playing? It looked like a light natural wood finished jazz bass without a scratchplate.

This seems to coincide with the fashion at the moment for ridiculous jeans that have a similar distressed look. And not in any sort of good way that you imagine. Usually they end up making the person look like they've crapped themselves due to discoloured patches on the back of the legs! Or the horrible bleachy patterns all over. Ergh!

Most basses look horrible to me, including a lot of home-made designs. Jazzes and Thumbs (and most Warwicks) are about the only ones I like.

Any synth could be used as a bass synth (ie. play in the C1 range or whatever). Some synths are more suited for basses though. Moog Little Phatty (or most other Moog synths such as the Minimoog). There is a whole niche that replicate hardware (ie. the Minimonsta is based on the Minimoog). Some people say the sound doesn't compare the hardware, but the quality of softsynths has got to a point where it's pretty amazing and hard to tell (mostly depends on your settings and mixing of the track to get a good sound). It's more for music tech but Dolphin Music are good - they stock basses etc. too. Or Digital Village. Thomann used to be good, but their prices are out now that Sterling has collapsed compared to the Euro.

I might not sell music gear unless there is a good reason (ie. really need the money). It needs a setup and some new strings so I might just do that.

Hi, I've got a Warwick Streamer Standard 5-String, with single pickup in red. I got this years back before the Rockbass models came out. I just wondered how much this is worth? People will probably assume that it's just a Rockbass, but I think it might have nicer wood etc. I can't find mention of it in my searches, which is odd! EDIT: Hold the phones...
