  1. I'm obviously familiar with MM but don't know his signature sound but if it is big and thumpy then, yes the TF defo does that. I've used them for a few years now and I've owned loads of other amps in the meantime (inc Mesa, EBS, MB, Demeter etc etc) and the TF seriously kicks a solid low end when some are found wanting (live situations with a drummer/band). The only amp to tempt me away was the full valve Handbox jobbie but that arrived to me with issues and I went back to the TF.
  2. I have run both the TF550 and 750 at gig volumes with no fan and the casing got warm by the end of the gig but not near 'hot' and that is with the amp in a tight SKB case. Saying that the fan is so quiet I used to forget if it was on or off!
  3. I'm in Blyth but gig all over the NE
  4. In short no! However, they are small scale and Dave (Funk) used to organise sales and shipping himself. As for trying one before you buy, it'd be a case of seeing if any BCer were local (I'm NE). There are a couple for sale used on BC (550 and 750 but the 550 is way loud enough for pretty much anyone).
  5. Thunderfunk all the way.
  6. As Binky-bass has said; you can buy at your leisure if it is paid for via paypal and return it if not as described (which covers a multitude of sins). I was suspended by ebay for asking to view something before I bought it, ebay reasoned and stated that they have a returns policy which means that sellers don't need to meet to view (i.e. they were scared of a private sale and them losing commission).
  7. I should point out the band are a tribute to the 70's!
  8. Just back from a local (festival) gig... now off to a pub gig. Oddly the pub gig is going to be paying way more than the festival but I reckon the festival gig might be the better experience; we shall see.
  9. Playing 40 years and never once claimed on it, though I've had it on and off (corporate gig periods of my life). Can't think of a time when anyone I've been in a band with has ever claimed.
  10. Almost... ideally I want the transition after this where the body/neck are this but with the 2 piece bridge.
  11. Aria Sinsonidia
  12. I've owned 3 of the EBS IV basses (as in my sunburst above) and all have had the abalone dot inlays.
  13. Come on... you know you can have mine Andy!
  14. Not a Warwick product!
  15. After reading this thread BD thought better of it!
  16. So he was offered £1550 (turned down) and it is now down to £1400 after being pulled at £1500... odd!
  17. He played a P bass 'back in the day' and it can be really hard to 100% attribute certain tones to a Ric or P.
  18. ...because I already have one and GremlinAndy is maxxed out with 3 or 4 of them! Superb bits of kit.
  19. It isn't the same bass but tbh I'll be a monkey's uncle if the BD SSII sells 'at that price'.
  20. I agree that it looks pretty 'stock' to me and you're right that the socket will 90% certain to have been replaced... which is a good thing!
  21. The positioning on a Warwick is way further back than on say a Fender style bass. I'll measure from the front of bridge to the back of the pup when I can find a steel rule, rather than a tape measure... assuming you are fitting a W 2 piece bridge, otherwise you'll want measurements from bridge saddle centres!
  22. Not found better yet!
  23. Have you considered something like a Godin SA (Synth Access) bass linked to a Roland unit? I bought a Godin Ultra (piezo/mag/SA) bass as I wanted/needed to access loads of different sounds in a functions/party band but needed to continue bass duties. It was/is fantastic with no need to learn to play keys or issues with latency, software issues etc. Sadly that band is on the back burner and I don't get to use it, if you are in the NE area you're welcome to try.
  24. No. Received email from them saying my account was suspended for 3 days, with this message: We’re writing to let you know that activity on your account may not be following an important eBay policy that requires all transactions and payments to be completed on eBay. We understand that you might not have known about these policies. We're sending you this notification to ensure that you can follow the policy going forward. Below are the details of where the activity occurred. I'd simply messaged a seller saying could I take a look, they responded and sent me their address. I viewed but walked away as it wasn't quite right for me. Next thing the above message and suspension! eBay staff said that it contravened their policies. When I went through what my options were then, they said the only course a user has is to buy, then return the item if it isn't as described!
  25. You may be able to talk to them but eBay don't want you actually meeting them! I phoned ebay and spoke to two of their team and they explained that my account was suspended as the seller shared his address and it contravenes T&C to view before you buy... you can buy, pay for it THEN view (and return or ask for refund if not satisfied) but not viewing first.
